Holiday Affair
by
Annie Seaton (Goodreads Author)
Staid professor Lissy McIntyre believes that choosing a mate should be based on common sense, not runaway passion. And she would certainly never pick a rolling stone like Nick Richards for long-term love. But a red-hot, tropical romance? Oh, yeah. He’s got a body just made for sinning and his sizzling kisses leave her senseless.

Love a story with a strong woman who knows her own mind. When Lissy meets Nick on holiday she decides to have a fling with him, no strings attached. I easily found myself lost in the beautiful descriptions of the settings that Annie Seaton developed. She has a way with words that make you feel you are in the setting with her characters, even to the stage where I was cursing Nick to hurry up and stop stringing Lissy along. Interaction is good with the story, isnt it? It means that I was hooked an...more
The premise of Holiday Affair sounded like a delightful read: warm sandy beaches, sizzling hoiliday romance, a rational academic heroine and a roguish charming hero, I thought I’d just need a cocktail to feel like I was on vacation. But sadly the characters drove me up the wall almost as soon as their vacation came to an end and though I persevered and gave it several chances, after 70% I was just so frustrated with Lissy (and Nick) that I waved them goodbye.

Lissy is heart broken at her Grandpa's passing. She goes on a short holiday to try to get herself, along with her thoughts, back together before she gets back to work. In her holiday she meets a handsome wanna be sailor, who sings to her. The enchantment only lasts until she discovers his deceit, then she plays him at his own game only to prove him wrong.

Holiday Affair by Annie Seaton
This is the first book I’ve read by Annie Seaton and I do have to say she is one damn great author. Her descriptions made me want to go on a holiday on a sail boat and find my own sailor. Annie writing is good the story flows extremely well and I have to say I really enjoyed Holiday Affair.

Holiday Affair is the first book I have read by Annie Seaton, and I have to say I will look for more!! I absolutely loved this book!
The book starts out with Lissy McIntyre on vacation. She needs a break from being Dr. McIntyre history professor and to say goodbye to her Gramps. While on a sailing ship she meets the oh so sexy sailor/ drifter Nick, and the chemistry and sparks fly immediately. She decides to let herself have a fling, because she knows she w...more

Ever wished you could just get away from it all, let your hair down and lose yourself in a wild fling with a gorgeous man and never have to worry about annoying things like repercussions? So did Lissy. Sorry, I meant Dr. Melissa McIntyre. When this sedate assistant university professor threw caution to the wind and indulged in a holiday fling, she got more than she'd bargained for. Never see the bloke again? Think again! What if he's waiting in your office on Monday morning, your senior colleagu...more

I loved University and always wanted to become a professor. The storyline of this novel played into those dreams right from the start. Two young, attractive and intelligent people have a chance meeting. They spend a glorious night together and things are left up in the air. The chemistry is hot but both have trust issues for two different reasons. When Lissy and Nick meet you can feel the electricity betwee...more

A Holiday Affair is a contemporary romance book that I appreciated and enjoyed reading. In this story, Lissy is on a holiday of sorts, traveling after laying her grandfather to rest, when she meets the good looking, but arrogant, Nick. From the start, there is chemistry between them, but their relationship starts off pretty rocky. However, they succumb to a liaison, neither expecting to see the other again. As it turns out, Nick is the new professor assigned to work in Lissy's department at the...more
Lissy has issues concerning her mother’s choice and taste in men. These issues have extended towards her trust in not only men in general, but to a little thing called love. For her, it doesn’t exist so any chance of a life partnership with someone of the opposite sex will be a sensible commitment based on a mutual respect. After the passing of her grandfather, Lissy takes a holiday to sort through her emotions and relax with a little sightseeing before heading back to work. But by the holiday’s...more

I really loved the first half of this book. The introduction to the main characters and their chemistry was great - I was excited to read what would happen when they returned to their "real world" lives and were forced to work together. But, then it felt like the same scene played over and over again and became a bit frustrating. Given that it was set in Australia, I'm assuming the author is probably Australian or British, which may have had a slight effect on readability for me. The dialogue fe...more
What happens when one wild tryst moves in next door? Lissy never thought she would see much less have to deal with Nick again… little did she know. Guess who the new History professor is? Yep, fate was having a little fun wit the normally stuffy Lissy.
Watching as Lissy and nick find their way towards a HEA, via lovers then enemies, you are drawn into their electric chemistry and funny moments. I loved the vivid writing and character development.

This book is filled with twists and turns which make it hard to stop reading. Lissy is very relatable and engaging, and Nick is HOT and charismatic.
I also enjoy it because it's fast-paced, and the first chapter had me at the edge of my seat. The characters seem real... they are flawed, which I like. She's still hurt because of the loss of her grandfather, which is something we all can relate to. And Nick is still attracted to her even after he finds out she may be engaged to someone else, soon...more

Now, this book was very conflicting to me. I found that I liked aspects of it like the basic concept and potential of characters, but overall I didn't find that it captured my attention. The dialogue was in some parts of the story awkward, and a little wishy-washy. I also found it to be a little short, and felt that it could have been better if it had been drawn out a little longer. I liked the basic concept, but I wish it would have been executed a tad bit better.

Not a bad book in all. It did take me a while to get through, but I think that was mostly down to me not being in a reading mood.
The story itself is a good one, Lissy meets Nick on the Whitsunday Islands. There they banter back and forth and eventually fall into bed with each other. There is obvious physical attraction between the both of them and Annie Seaton manages to portray this through out the novel with certain looks they give each other or certain jealousy they hold over each other.

This Entangled release did not float my boat. The ending was too abrupt, and the protagonists both got on my nerves. I thought Nick was a jerk for trying to sabotage his brother's relationship with Lissy, and I thought that Lissy needed to grow a backbone and stand up for herself. I just wasn't convinced that they were a good match for each other, and worse, at times I didn't care if they ever got together.

Seriously I have a thing for epilogues and in individual novel I need an epilogue. I gave the book a four partially because of this. I wanted to see there makings of happily ever after. I mean seriously she did not even say I love you. I just wanted a "six months later" or something. This book does not appear to be in a series if it was than I could possible see no epilogue but just barely.
This is a good & predictable story. nothing out of the ordinary. But I couldn't connect with the characters, especially Nick. He confuses the hell out of Lizzy with his hesitation & withdrawal syndrome. Blowing hot & cold all the time. Lizzy is a staid and rational professor, but she acts irrationally most of the time whenever she is in Nick vicinity.
This story starts with a hot bodied sailor (Nick) and a staid professor (Lissy) in a romantic fling in an exotic location. Work, friends and family, and life in general conspire to keep the love birds apart. Each of them have hang-ups that keep them apart and they end up hurting one another when their hearts tell them otherwise. A great read.
I loved the romance at the beginning between Lizzy and Nick! Just why did he have to leave her like a one night stand. Did he actually think that could possibly help the situation? When they reunite, its a disaster waiting to happen. Lots of interest to see what happens next in this book, but it doesn't seem like enough action. I liked the added twist of having the brother interested in her but I wish it was more developed and thought out. It had so much possibility but just fell in the like cat...more

Annie Seaton lives on the beautiful east coast of Australia, where she loves sitting in her writing chair, gazing at the ocean and writing stories. She has always been fascinated by all things historical and has found her niche writing contemporary romance and steampunk, where strong heroines and brooding heroes fight together to make their alternative world a better place.
