Selma Lagerlof, prémio Nobel da literatura em 1909.
Reli este livro mais de trinta anos depois de o ler pela primeira vez. Claro que já sem a magia dessa altura e com uma bitola de exigência maior, não deixou de ser interessante, mas como quase todos os livros de contos, as história não têm suficiente desenvolvimento.

Poderá não ser a melhor introdução ao universo da escritora, e quem tiver, como eu, alguns anti-corpos ao catolicismo, poderá não conseguir navegar de forma pacífica nestas histórias, mas há também algo da Escandinávia rural de início do século vista pelos olhos de uma mulher escritora (referência obrigatória da cultura sueca) que justifica esta leitura.

Prachtige verhalen met allerlei bovennatuurlijk creaturen, maar af en toe erg Christelijk van insteek. Vooral 'Het wisselkind' is erg mooi.

Selma Ottilia Lovisa Lagerlöf was a Swedish author. In 1909 she became the first woman to ever receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, "in appreciation of the lofty idealism, vivid imagination and spiritual perception that characterize her writings". She later also became the first female member of the Swedish Academy.
