I was lucky enough to score an ARC of the first book in this series from the author. So when she emailed me with the second book I was extremely excited.

I went into this book expecting a great story, a hunky hero and a tingling dose of sizzle sizzle - and that's exactly what I received.

The best part about this set of unique warriors is that they sense their sheva (destined mate) straight away. The connection is instantaneous, their emotions strong and pure....and hot real hot.

I have to admit I

I knew giving this series a chance was good idea. I really want to give it like 3 3/4 stars. This was much better than the first. The were still quite a few eye-roll inducing moments but they were fewer and further between than the fist. I figured out what my problem with her writing is. She gives the same details over...and over...and over again. Its same "soul tearing" "intense" "overwhelming" feeling from the hero and heroin. And the characters aren't that different from each other. Quinn and ...more

"Order of the Blade" has become a highly addictive and thrilling paranormal series that leaves you satisfied, yet craving the next book right after you get to the last page. Leaving you thinking, even crying out, "No!! I don't want to wait! I want it now!!" Stephanie Rowe has created such an amazing world with her fierce, sexy Calydons and their equally determined, strong women. In "Darkness Seduced", we run into Gideon, who promised to find Lily after they rescued Ana. Lily, who has been held c ...more
I rated this 4 stars because I like the series and I like Gideon, but like the first book, there were parts of the story that did not sit well with me. I did like the twist on Lily's role as Satinka, but I didn't find myself loving her anymore than Grace. For some reason, the guys definitely come across more likeable even though they are the ones that have demon "essence" in them. Maybe that is because they essentially know that the women are destined for them so they know to a very large extent ...more

This is the 2nd book in the Order of the Blade series. These, in my opinion, are not stand alone books.

This book picks up where the 1st one ended. Lily Davenport has been kept prisoner and tortured for 2 years by Nate Tipton, a crazy Calydon warrior who was under the influence of the evil Ezekiel who has been imprisoned in a magical prison for over two thousand years and wants out. Lily was a professor who was a renowned Calydon expert who wrote books and did seminars about the Calydon warriors

Darkness Seduced is such a passionate book. From the first chapter, I was successfully hooked and absorbed into the plot and the characters; I knew immediatley that I would love it.

We are immediately introduced to Lily, an intelligent professor who is being held hostage. Throughout the whole of Lily's remarkable journey of discovery, love and need for revenge, we are allowed to witness her fears, her logic and her desires. All of which are shared and developed through beautifully crafted writing

Has it ever occurred to anyone that in the 500 years they spent killing innocent women and young girls, that the reason these men went rogue was the threat to their Sheva???? They go around killing everyone's mate but they are the only ones worthy of true love? They get a happy ever after and everyone else has to die... That's just not right. I connected with some of the characters and the action seen were good but I can't be ok with the plot.
I thought that the plot was good, and the idea behind the story is creative. A person can read about vampires, angels, werewolves, demons, etc... only so many times before it loses its appeal. What I like about Order of the Blades is that Stephanie Rowe created an entirely new mythology. It's refreshing.

The writing was good, but it was missing the element that made me feel like I am really there in the space with the characters. It's missing smell, touch, feeling of the space they inhabit (the s

I hate to say it but this one was even worse than the first one. I sincerely could not wait for this book to be over.

Again, all I'm going to say is that I am incredibly over an MC who instantly has to ravage the the heroine because of some psychic connection. How about developing a love story that even if it's "meant to be" there's more than five minutes before they're having the most explosive and best sex ever.

I wouldn't continue to read this series.

I have to admit this series has been ruined for me due to the fact that I have read at least 4 others very similar. If I would have read this one first I might have liked it more. But as we stand, it's just meh. The one thing that I can't seem to get over is the whole Sheva thing. For thousands of years Shevas have been killed, Shevas that didn't even know they were shevas, just because they met their soulmate. Suddenly though, there is group of strong females who are going to challenge this and ...more
LOOOOVED IT! I'm gonna write a review later when I have better time.!

Stephanie sucked me back into the world of The Order of the Blade. Amazingly enough I enjoyed book 1 just a little better then book 2. Although I still really enjoyed Darkness Seduced.

Gideon is the tough as nails, has no feelings, totally impossible to kill warrior that everyone fears and all the other warriors look up too. So when Gideon is asked to go save Lily from her prison, he treats this like any other mission. Get in, save the innocent, kill some rogues, and get out. Gideon has the best

This is the second book in the Order of the Blade series and it was a fun little read. It picked up where the first left off and, as expected, followed the soul mates Gideon and Lily. I liked Lily. She was a strong survivor, which is good since she also seemed like a perpetual victim. I also like Gideon. He was a strong, honourable man and anyone who has read many of my reviews knows that I like that character type a lot. Unfortunately I didn't like Lily and Gideon together very much.

This is the second book in the Order of the Blade trilogy. In case you missed the first book, Darkness Awakened, the premise is that Calydon warriors are destined to kill or be killed by their destined mates (shevas) once all the stages of their bonding are completed. To prevent Order members from being killed or going rogue over their shevas, the shevas are killed as soon as they're found to prevent bonding. Order members are too few and too important to lose because they protect humanity.
This book, like Darkness Awakened, is steamy and hot, but this one is almost volcanic. My Kindle Fire was so hot that steam was coming out of it's ports that was how hot it was. Ladies, you can't go wrong with this book, but read the first one first, or you won't know what's happening.

THE PLOT: We start up where we left off. Ana is saved and Nate is dead. Grace helped everyone to stave off the illusion that they were being attacked, so everyone way OK. They made Grace an honorary member of the O
Darkness Seduced is the second book in the Order of the Blade Series and it is just as incredible, if not better than the first one. I didn't think that would be possible. This is Gideon's book and he is just about as HOT!! as they come. He has a darkness that draws you in makes you want to hold him, comfort him and help him to redeem himself. (Well, there are other thinks you want to do to him also!) Lily is an endearing character as well. She has been a victim for so long, but she is still so ...more

The order races against the clock to try and prevent Frank from unleashing Ezekiel from his prison. It picks up right were Darkness Awakened leaves off and this book with not let you put it down!! It starts off full of action that just doesn't stop.

Gideon lost his Sheva a long time ago but as the rules are changing with in the Order regarding Sheva's so is fates role in Calydon's finding their Sheva's.

Stephanie Rowe has done it again! She takes the Calydon warriors, strips them bare of what they thought made them who they were and after pain, heartbreak, and love warred with one another in their hearts, these warriors are made aware what makes them who they are. The journey is one I relished being able to take with them.

Gideon Roarke, the Calydon warrior who can't be killed, and Lily Davenport, the professor who knows all there is to know about the warrior who did the unthinkable to her famil

Stephanie Rowe's latest series, Primal Heat Trilogy: The Order of The Blade, takes you to a world where cursed warriors are willing to kill to spare the innocents of the world, including their destined soul mates. Darkness Seduced pulls the reader further into the tales of the Calydon as they fight to keep intact the walls containing the end of the world.

Brilliant Calydon expert Dr. Lily Davenport has despised Gideon Roarke forever, vilifying him publicly in her research and her writings. Held p

Seriously loved this series.... Could not stop until I read the most recent one. The whole Calydon mythology was really neat. While the Sheeva Bond thing gets a little worn out, it was still a bit of a twist on your typical soulmate idea. Books further in the series don't rely so heavily on the Sheeva Bond/curse/whatever, so I was thankful for that. The plot lines to all the books are great. The characters are solid. Writing is great. I was not disappointed, in the slightest.
This second story in the series is even better than the first one.

Gideon Roark is a five hundred years old immortal warrior who lives for honour, duty and protecting the innocent as he'd promised to do for the woman who gave her life for his when he was nineteen years old. But Lily Davenport, a woman tortured, imprisoned for two years by a madman and later rescued by him, puts his control and vow to the test. This instant attraction between them threatens everything they hold dear: their loved
Book 2 of the Order of the Blade series

I can't wait for the next book! I enjoyed book one and usually the first book is the best one in a series but this book was really good! I wish that these were available to buy in a bundle because I hate spending 5 dollars per book and usually won't but I am going to buy book 3 and see where that takes me =)
Why do authors repeat their bad habits so often in series? This offering was definitely not as good as the first. I found the constant rape theme very trying, and hope this will be the last time the whole "kill the Sheva" thing raises its head. I'm hoping #3 will correct some of the mistakes in this one.

Can't wait to read the next.

Can't wait to read the next.

Awesome storyline. Quick read. Ms Rowe is an inventive writer, so far the series is absolutely wonderful, a refreshing change from the usual paranormal bad guys good guys.
Firstpella's the writing since I should ADORE this series - alpha imortal men with one woman forEVER falling hard - hello BDB, LoTU, etc. But sadly not for me with this series. Too much internal thoughts/thinking, not enough doing and dialogue and a writing style of it happening vs telling the reader what the characters are thinking.
Stephanie Rowe continues with her wonderful story line in Darkness Seduced, with a "few" HOT Immortal Warriors, the likes of whom you have never seen before, their oath to protect humanity no matter the cost even if it means giving up their soul mates, then throw in a said soul mates and a destiny that says she will destroy them if they come together and you get a book that is HOT HOT HOT!!! This second installment for this series will have you continuing to build the lives of the characters fro ...more
This book only missed out on a 5star rating because of the cliffhanger ending.
This story is hard to define; dark enough and containing a lot of harsh brutality that it could be Urban Fantasy but the romance between the 2 main characters (Lily & Gideon) is so full of passion, compassion and written so well being an intrigal part of the story that I think of this as a paranormal romance with attitude!
Sherry Ellis
I must say there were a lot of twist and turns, and pretty hot. I am not going to go into the details, but I am not sorry I bought it. In fact I bought them all.
Honestly you will not be sorry.
great book but first book is better. If Gideon were to just man up and quit resisting his emotions so much it wouldve been 5 stars. started getting annoying. briefly. haha
