Very good book. Jace came to town to tell Amy about the father she didn't remember. All she knows is that he left her and her mother. After her mother's death, she was raised by a friend. All she wants to do is raise her own daughter in a safe place. But Katie has taken a liking to Jace and is campaigning for him to become her daddy. And Jace isn't running too fast from the idea. This is my first book by this author and I got it free from Goodreads First Reads.
Overall a good book. The writing was great and the story line kept me entertained. I thought the character development was strong and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I only gave it 3 stars because I would have loved the book to be longer. I thought there was enough of a story to keep going.

I won this book from the author through Goodreads, first-reads. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed this well written story, all the characters that pull you into their lives, especially Jace, Amy and 6 year old Katie. Very good character developement; how things in their past still affects them in the present, and an opportunity to overcome them for a better future.

Angel's stories leave you feeling good, as if love does really might just win in the end. Jace is hot - but not perfect. Love him. I wish the book could have been a little longer just because I liked the characters and story.

I live in Colorado with my husband and daughter, as well as a constantly changing mixture of family and pets. I thought winning the Romance Writer's of America's Golden Heart Award was the highlight of my writing career, but seeing my first Harlequin book on the shelves topped that. My background as a social worker has helped fill my head with the stories of people, and inspired the characters who...more
