I have to preface this by saying I am normally not a Christian Romance reader. That Being stated this was a wonderful story about two people reconnecting after an absence with a child's life hanging in the balance.

Josie is a single mom working hard to make ends meet while supporting a daughter, Hannah, who is sick with leukemia. She starts this story by making a trip to a nearby town to speak with Hannah's father in hopes that he will be a bone marrow match. She believes that he doesn't care abo

Favorite Lines: "Hannah Peretti, you are the most beautiful child I've ever had the privilege of seeing. You take my breath away. I look at you and thank God for the perfect gift He has given me. You're gorgeous. you must get that from your mother. But you know what? Being beautiful doesn't come from the clothes you wear, the color of your eyes or how much hair you have. Being beautiful comes from within. In this story, the little boy loved the rabbit even though others thought it was ugly. He w ...more

4 STARS Lakeside Family has a mother's worst nightmare, Her nine year old daughter has cancer. Her remission is over and now needs a bonemarrow transplant. So far cant find a match. Josie Peretti has been a single mother since her Junior year in high school. Now she has to find Hannah's father to see if he is a match. She has not seen him since he left for collage and broke up with her. Not a word about his daughter or gift for 9 year old Hannah. Nick Brennan did n

What a delightful, sweet book this was! It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. This book started right off. It was not slow getting started at all. It grabbed my attention right away and kept it through the end. I have read a few "Love Inspired" books before, and they are OK but a little lacking in the plot but this one was so much better.

This story was mainly about Josie (the mom, trying her hardest to save her daughter's life and keep her business afloat at the same

I liked this one a lot more than the first book. I thought this was a really sweet read. The book starts with Josie tracking down her old high school boyfriend to not only inform in that he has a daughter and that Hannah is sick and he is the only one that can help. Nick never knew about Hannah and is pretty shocked by the news. So, Nick turns out to be a pretty awesome guy. Almost too good to be true. It was great to see him not only taking responsibility, but really going above and beyond. Jos ...more

This was a sweet and heartfelt story. Josie and Nick were high school sweethearts but their relationship ended after Nick left for college and she was a junior in high school. Flash forward 9 years, Josie own her own bakery and is trying to save her daughter Hannah's life, who has cancer.

She seeks out Nick hoping he is a match even though he has not once asked about Hannah nor assisted her financially. Well, not a surprise, but rather a romance trope, Nick didn't know about Hannah. Though Josie

Lakeside Family is the second book in Lisa Jordan's Lakeside series. I wasn't sure it was possible to like this book as much as I did her first novel, but I stand corrected. I loved the feisty Josie Peretti--a single mom running her own business and tending to a sick daughter. Sometimes running on fumes.

In a story of past hurts coming to surface and choosing to trust others and God, Jordan immerses you into Shelby Lake through captivating imagery and real-to-life sensory details. You'll enjoy sp

Josie never told Nickolas she had a baby so when he hears from her that she needs her help with their child it comes as a shock. This is how their relationship begins again, not that they really had one to begin with! There is quite a bit of drama in this story with the existence of a sick child.

I gave this book 4/5 stars. I have read many Love Inspired books and have enjoyed most of them. This particular book did not have a great story line for me. The main character of Josie was not that likab

This is a sweet, squeaky-clean somewhat religious romance. While certainly no classic, it was a perfect book to read while watching the water go by from my chair on the deck of a cruise ship. Nick and Josie are both highly likable characters and it was easy to root for them. Books like this show you how HOT a loving kiss can be. Grade B.

I'd like to thank the publisher for making a review copy available via NetGalley. I was not obligated to write a positive review.

Families are a group of people filled with love, and watching this a bit unconventional family come together was a real joy. We are first introduced to Josie a mother first and foremost and a single woman trying to run a business and keep herself afloat. Josie's daughter Hannah is sick and needs a bone marrow transplant,

The strong characters were very believable. Hard not to root for them to find their way when they are so likable. Didn't dwell on reasons they did what they had done in the past, author gave those reason up front and dealt with them right off the firs thing, only bringing up the reasons when character had to explain them to someone else, but otherwise left them there in the background. A very good read.
The description and categorization did not name this as a christian romance, but it is. It wasn't bad, just not my cup of tea.

It's always interesting to see how things turn out when the father finds out he has a child he didn't have a clue about. Really liked this story!!
