I picked Love at Second Sight up because I was in the mood for cute and fuzzy and based on those expectations this book didn’t disappoint.
Jo’s story is interesting and a nice way to spend a few hours. The idea behind this book certainly works at peaking your interest and I guess depending on the your viewpoint on reincarnation it’ll either pull work or not. For me Jo is a little too fussed on the boyfriend quest and I was surprised to find out she’s 17 not younger. Jo starts out as a big skeptic...more

This was my very first Cathy Hopkins novel and I’m telling you now, it won’t be my last! I really, really enjoyed it.
There is an infectious warmth about Love at Second Sight that drew me on the very first page and didn’t let me go until a while after the last. I think that had a lot to do with the characters more so than any stylistic feature or the plot. Our protagonist, Jo, is fabulous. She’s smart ad logical, loves Steampunk and Pre-Raphaelite art and most importantly, she’s a normal teenage...more

Love at Second Sight was a book I'd never heard of until I went to an Simon & Schuster event back in July, and luckily enough, I managed to snag a copy. This is my first book by author Cathy Hopkins and I must say, it definitely won't be my last.
The story follows the life of teenager Jo, who so far has been quite unlucky in love. All of her friends have boyfriends and she's sick of feeling like a third wheel and despite Jo's protests, her friends drag her to see a clairvoyant. Once there, t...more

This book was just amazing. Hopkins adds so much meaning and mystery ( though the past life aspect) to a book that I thought would just be like a chick-flick. The book doesn't drag on , and the story line is of a teenager looking for love , as cliche as that sounds , it isn't!
I enjoyed the book very much and finished it in a day ,its a book that will keep you hooked till the end - there were many moments where I just wanted to take a glimpse at the ending as even I couldn't guess her "true" lov...more

I love this book along with all of Cathy Hopkins books. But this one stands out more than the others, as also being just one of those other everyday chick-flick books it makes you sit on the edge of you seat. As Jo (the girl in the story) goes searching for her soul mate where in which she get told she was once a women is a past life and then searches into history to find her true soul mate. This book is a great read, its really more than it seems so don't go judging this book by its cover!
This wan't my first Hopkins novel to read but after this one i will definitely be looking into more her novels, i very enjoyed the book, it was extremely sweet and very entertaining and i finished it, in just under 4 days Readers will not be disappointed and will be routing for their own team whether that is Team Finn, Team Owen or *sigh* Team Ben :D
BTW I always Team Ben (Ok maybe i was Team Finn for a bit......but only a bit ok lol)

I liked this more than I thought I would based on the blurb, but I'm not sure how much of that was based on me learning about Victorian death rituals for my degree! I thought the second half was stronger than the first because Jo's cynicism was less grating. Something which annoyed me when Jo finally found The One was how many times they stared into
each others eyes... However if you enjoyed Cathy Hopkins other books you are likely to enjoy this one too.

I picked this book up when I saw it in my school library.
The main point of this story is for Jo to find her soulmate. The problem I had with this book was that the male interests were almost absent throughout the whole book.
The book is easy to understand so if you're looking for a light read during the weekends, this book might be suitable for you.

I thought it was the best romance book I have ever read. It was all about the history or the past and how the two main characters are destined to fall in love and how they meet each other right now. After their sad separation in the past. <3 :)
The whole reincarnating thing and soul mates was really cool.

I really loved the concept of this book. The whole idea of reincarnation, and finding a true soul mate is obviously romantic, but it also provides a very interesting backdrop to a romance! I loved all the back story and finding out about Henrietta.
I loved the way Jo is extremely sceptical at first, and slowly starts to think there might just be something to it. It makes it much more believable - and I loved investigating her past life with her.
