I loved this one. A fast read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. With JFK , Andersen continues the Showgirl series that she started with Skintight. For me, the second in the series outshines the original- not that I didn't like Skintight too!

At first, showgirl with a heart of gold Carly can't stand her uptight neighbor Wolfgang Jones. Opposites in many ways they are like fire and water. But chemistry can be a fickle thing sometimes and they quickly find themselves making out in her condo foyer with all h

Just ForKicks (Susan Andersen)
It stared out a bit slow (for my liking) about half way through the book it did pick up with interesting sub plots.
But to me it was a bit predictable. I really Liked the Charaters, Carly was a likable Show girl, and "Wolf" Wolfgang was also a character to grow on you.

Carly is a "quirky" Showgirl, beautiful , sexy and smart. She loves animals and is a bit carefree, but she knows what she wants out of life. Her neighbor Wolfgang drives her crazy with his stoic face, a
Cute book... great not really but cute.

Carly is a showgirl who like animals more than people. Wolfgang is security at the same casino. And when they end up being neighbors life gets really interesting. Wolfgang has a life mission that does not include staying in Vegas or being involved with a showgirl and than when his nephew comes to live with him his mission goes up in smoke.

Don't judge Susan Andersen only on this book but then if you are a fan already this will still be a good book just not

Carly is a Vegas showgirl living in a condo with her babies—two cats and two dogs. Her next door neighbor not only hates her barking dogs, but is also one of the big security officers in the casino where she works. While she can barely stand to be around the Ice Man next door, she can’t deny the growing chemistry between them.

Wolfgang (Yes, for real. More on the name later.), is as serious about his job as he is about everything in his life. People see him as robotic and cold, but he sees himsel

It wasn't until 200 pages in that Wolfgang got his much needed personality transplant. That's 2/3rds of the way in. A long wait for a story to get interesting.

This was my first Susan Andersen book. She's been around for some time; that might be why she employed every tired trick there is to writing a romance. Like if a book has a hot guy behind the bar you can be sure he's more than a guy who pours drinks. He's the owner or a millionaire doing a favor for a friend. And so Andersen's showgirl tur

Fun little story with some strong characters. Wolfgang Jones is the #2 security guy at a Las Vegas casino and his next door neighbor, Carly Jacobsen is a showgirl. Their personalities clash dramatically. Jones wants out of Vegas, he wants to be in charge of his own security team, and he wants to find a mild, respectable woman for his wife. Carly, on the other hand, enjoys life, her friends, her pets, and doing volunteer work for children with cancer. She thinks Jones is too uptight and Wolfgang ...more

Susan Andersen takes us back to the world of Las Vegas showgirls, where Treena McCall and Jax Gallagher last met and fell in love. This story is about Treena’s best friend, co-worker, and neighbor, Carly Jacobsen. Carly is tall, blonde, beautiful, and built, and she’s also big-hearted and fun-loving. Like the other characters, Carly has wounds from her past and had felt herself a misfit until realizing she fit in right where she was, and made a family with similar people who also built their liv ...more

Erster Satz:

This installment was way better than her first offering in the Vegas series but not by too much. This story features the bland hero of "Wolfgang" (I kid you not) and Carly. Carly loves life and will do anything for her friends. Wolfgang is a pretty buttoned down security specialist at the place where Carly works and even though he can appreciate her physical form. For him she has trouble written all over her and all he wants is a quite, steady life, with a secure job, a nice wife and a white pic ...more

Growing up, Wolfgang Jones' family moved from embassy to embassy and he resented the class distinctions each new home brought him. Now that he's grown up, he has a plan and that is to become the head of security in the private sector in Middle America and marry the perfect woman. But he doesn't count on becoming entangled in the life of his annoying, yet oh so sexy Showgirl neighbor Carly Jacobsen. Between her yapping dogs and the nephew who's recently moved in with him though, Wolfgang is force ...more

I loved it. This story had so many strange elements in it, such as casinos, security guards, and cancer kids? Like, how does all that tie together? But Ms. Andersen managed it, and flawlessly too. I loved the different facets of Carly, and how Wolf felt as he discovered them. He'd judged her based on her profession (Las Vegas showgirl), but she really showed him! Plus it was fun to see Wolf apologize. And grovel a little bit. Just because he's also super hot. Can't be too perfect, you know?

A fun contemporary romance that managed to have a bit of a point. Carly and Wolfgang grew on me as characters (talk about opposites!), and I liked seeing a side of Vegas that didn't involve mobsters for a change. I would have liked to have seen more of Carly's rescue dog work -- it seemed to be really important to her but didn't have much time compared to her work as a showgirl.

Carly loves her dogs and cats, but her noisy new dog is bothering her uptight next-door neighbor, Wolfgang. Wolfgang h

I really liked the characters in this book. I enjoyed the storyline and would definitely read this one again.

Las Vegas showgirl Carly Jacobsen keeps finding out the hard way that her idea of fun differs radically from that of her neighbor Wolfgang Jones. Sure, he looks incredible, and he seems to have a thing for her legs, but the man's a robot. So what's with their chemistry?

Wolf has noticed Carly's legs, because they're always tangled up in leashes attached to her ridiculous assortment of pet
Very nice! Wolf and Carly had an actual relationship and more going on between them but just sex (and the sex was very nice). I do wish he had spoken more German though - and said something besides just Gott. There are some great endearments in German, although the body part translations were fun.

At first I thought the nephew was a bit too much as a plot device - especially since if he wanted to play soccer where could be better than Germany? He added a lot to the story and to their relationshi

Being biased and not too impressed with the first book of this series, I found myself scannng this book at times as well. (it became obvious as to what Anderson was trying to say, so I skimmed.) Nonetheless, I did find the book to keep enticing me to the end of the book.

The story continues with Las Vegas showgirl, Carly Jacobsen falling for her irritating, overbearning, non-emotional neighbor, Wolfgang. Wolfgang, has as master plan in his life that he concocted since the age of 16. Unfortunatel

gave it 3 stars, because i MOSTLY liked it. i was sorta into the whole vegas thing - when you're there as a tourist, the people who actually work there - showgirls, etc. - seem make believe. so its interesting to see the inner life of one. unfortunately, heroine doesn't have much of an inner life. quirky, because that's necessary for a contemporary romance. adopts stray animals. whoopee. so do i. crazy ass hot body - ok, now we're talking....

but as a pp has said - the over use of the word 'toots

Cute book. The heroine gets a bit of a suspense story and a romance. The hero gets a bit more character progression, presumably because he starts in a less healthy place. They get along badly at the beginning, but the couple's progression from hostility to love is paced fairly well, and stupid misunderstandings are kept to a minimum. Plentiful amounts of humor is spread throughout.

Characters from Skintight show up as a de facto family for the heroine, but their forceful presence seems like it'd

I really enjoyed reading this book. It made me laugh yet was filled with emotions and teenagers. Las Vegas is full of glitz and glamour but also it has families and schools and very normal things.
Wolfgang had moved around his entire life and he wanted stability and it wasn't in Vegas but the showgirl he met, Carly, was part of that life. He did not see the real Carly and she didn't want to see the real Wolf so they fought a little. Once they both realized that there was more to each other than

This book was great. It surpased my expectations! When I first picked up the book I thought it was going to be predictable but it wasnt until the last 100 or so pages. Although the beginning started pretty slow, it picked up after and was definitely a page turner! There was even a huge conflict that no one expects. I definitely recomend this book because it's not your typical romance book. I just now saw that it's the second book, so for those like me, that haven't the first. Its not necessary.

Wolfgang Jones & Carly Jacobsen
She's a Vegas showgirl who adopts stray pets. He's in security at the same casino who wants to get out of Vegas and head his own security team for corporate middle American and marry a school teacher. He doesn't show any emotion and never smiles. His 16 year old nephew moves in with him. He and Carly have chemistry so they agree to a no-strings-attached physical arrangement since Carly doesn't want to get married and knows Wolf is moving.

I love a good opposites attracts story. Especially when they realize they are as different as they thought. Wolf, an uptight controlling security for a Las Vegas casino, and Carly, the carefree showgirl are neighbors and co-workers. Their instant dislike of each other could only give way to an explosive chemistry that felt genuine and was great to read. The secondary characters were great as well. Definitely an enjoyable book.

That’s what the relationship between the dancer & security man was supposed to be. In the meantime there’s enough sex for me to get in some practice scanning for conversation. His master plan doesn’t include becoming responsible for a teenage nephew. She rescues dogs & cats which she takes to visit the local kids’ cancer unit. There's a bit of a power struggle between them.

I grew up in a household with two brothers, a daddy, and my grandfather. Too many men, in other words. They diluted M'ma's influence by diverting my attention to things like the danger of answering nature's call in the dead of the night. I've got a hint for those of you raised in a less spit-and-scratch world: check before you sit, because chances are that seat is gonna be up. And they don't even ...more
