The heroine Pia arrives in Italy hoping for a relaxing holiday after recovering from a very traumatic experience. She meets the hero Valentino, her neighbour, and is immediately put on edge by his very obvious flirtations. Valentino is intrigued by the nervous Pia, and hopes to indulge in some R&R with her. He is worn out and a little disillusioned from his high pressure career with Interpol, and very guarded when it comes to women after the disaster of his marriage. Although Pia is still fe ...more

Wow, what a surprise! The hero in this HP is NOT a billionaire, prince, or business genius--he's a cop! For Interpol, though, not your ordinary cop. And the heroine is pretty, but not rich, and has imperfections that have disrupted her life. Together these two NORMAL people find happiness.

A red-hot romance about learning to trust and letting go of the past, The Italian Next Door is the brand new novel by the fabulous Anna Cleary!

Life has been tough for artist Pia Renfern. She had come close to losing her life when she had stumbled upon a dangerous situation and as a consequence seems to have now lost the ability to paint. Pia has come to Italy to recover from her PTSD as a result of being held hostage in a bank robbery. Instead she finds a handsome Italian who is her neighbor. Moreover, he runs to her rescue more than once! As the attraction between them flares, Pia must come to terms with her past as Valentino does his. Can they learn to trust each other?

I thought that Pia was rather boring, just not thinking things through at all. Valentino was somewhat gun-shy and quick to jump to conclusions. Unfortunately, t

I love this story-who wouldn't love to holiday in a glorious Italian village, living next door to a gorgeous hunk like Valentino? A very attractive hero and loveable heroine, who sometimes lets her pride overcome her good sense. But why worry when Valentino is there to save her from her folly? The location is divine, and the characters well-matched. A satisfying romance, minus the usual obligitory angst. Very refreshing.
