This is exactly the kind of American Romance book I like; real, down-to-earth characters with flaws that everyone can relate to all taking place in cowboy-land! A great start to this mini-series.

The author paints a vivid picture of the ranching setting, and the passion the characters feel for their world is wonderfully portrayed. The hero is wonderful, and his love for what he does, is very clear. I really enjoyed reading about all the interactions with the horses, it was very moving - even thou...more

Aidan loyal Cowboy by Cathy McDavid
4 stars
Thier is really two stories in the ebook I was given to read by Netgalley.
The first is Aiden Loyal Cowboy. Aiden is a hard worker he is a Vet. and helps runs his family horse business. Aiden broke up with Flynn in collage after his dad died leaving the ranch in a mess.
Now Flynn is living back at the ranch next to Aiden after her divorce. They ended up eating dinner at same place and ended sleeping together. After Aiden made excuses and left. He did not...more

Aidan: Loyal Cowboy is the first book by Cathy McDavid for me, and I have to say I would read more by her!

The main character Ace is such a good man, but he guards himself maybe too good because of the pains of the past. I liked his love Flynn, and I didn’t like her. I think I saw alot of me in her, and that side of her I didn’t like. We have all had past heartaches, and guard ourselves sometimes too much because of them.

This book starts three wee...more

This was book one of the Harts of Rodeo Series and boy what a start ! Aidan (or Ace as he is known by friends) is the most loyal kind of guy you will find. Strong, sexy, dependent and always there to help plus bonus he loves animals! Only as loyal as he is to his families ranch he has never been that committed to the one woman that holds his heart.

Yes ladies we have a "if there is a job to do or someone that needs help I am out of here date or no date " kin...more

Good book. Flynn has been in love with Ace for years, but every time they seem to be getting closer, his family responsibilities pull him away. He is the oldest of the four siblings and when his father died, leaving the ranch in financial difficulty Ace saw it as his job to step up. One brother devotes his time to rodeo, avoiding the ranch whenever he can, the other joined the Marines, and their sister is the sheriff of their town. Ace also has a busy vet practice, leaving him little time for an...more

The worst thing about this book is its truly cringeworthy title, though I guess it means that what's on the outside of the tin is a pretty accurate description of what's inside. I like a touch of romance in my reading but except for one Mills and Boon more than thirty years ago I've never been a reader of formula romances, so I thought it was about time I tried one.

I suppose as far as they go this is up to standard. The writing style is transparent; the characters are well developed; Ms McDavid...more

Is loyalty always a good thing? Flynn wasn't so sure after being dumped by Aiden "Ace" years ago while at college. He had his reasons of course, the death of his father and the responsibilities he assumed for the family. So Flynn decided to concentrate on her career and eventually married a man with similar aims. Except she didn't quite realise those aims would prevent them having a family and lead to him dumping her. Succumbing to Aiden again might have seemed like a good idea once she returned...more

Aidan is indeed the Loyal Cowboy. Cathy McDavid gives readers a heartwarming story and American romance that will stir many emotions. Between Ace and Flynn it's hard to discern who is the most stubborn, but their almost constant arguing is highly amusing.

McDavid puts her characters in real situations and makes it obvious that neither of them are perfect. The most enjoyable aspect of Loyal Cowboy is the growth Ace and Flynn undergo. They learn to work together, overcome past hurts, and understand...more

I downloaded McDavid’s novella that kicked off this new series, and I was sucked into the small town and the folks within it. So when I saw the first novel pop up on NetGalley, I knew I would have to get my dose of sexy cowboy.

Flynn and Ace are next door neighbors, business competitors, and come from families that can rival the Hatfield and Mccoy rivalry. But they have also been friends, and as kids were even star-crosse...more

2.5 stars for the first one, 4 stars for the second one. Rounding up to 4 total, because of the second book.

Aidan: Loyal Cowboy is the story of Aidan and Flynn, who were once romantically involved, but got derailed by the death of Aidan's father and subsequent family responsibilities. She goes off to marry someone else, gets divorced and comes back to her hometown. Then one night, Aidan and Flynn rekindle their romance. Aidan, thinking that he has nothing to offer her, walks out the next morning...more

This book is a quick read as are most of the Harlequin Romance stories. This is a nice book to read in an afternoon. The characters are nice. Ace is the responsible one, the brother that stood up and helped his mom hold down the fort when his dad died. Flynn is the girl he was seeing before his dad died and then stopped seing so he could concentrate on his family business and keeping things together for his family. Now years later Ace and Flynn reconnect, the sparks are there but is Flynn secure...more

This would be more a 2.5. This book consisted of two stories Aidan and then The Family Plan. The first story I didn't really care for. The characters just felt flat and I never really cared for them. The second story seemed much more developed and I really came to care for what happened to Chase and Jolyn, though I wanted to smack Jolyn's mother. The two stories together would have been a solid 3 stars for me if not for really really wanting to smack Jolyn's mother. In the end.. Aiden not so goo...more

Woulda loved this book more because Cathy McDavid is one good writer but the heroine, Flynn, was too demanding, imho. Ace, our hero, has a job, has a family, has responsibilities, and all Flynn is doing is worrying about why he doesn't say those three little words. Anyone else would have known love is an action and not sentimental bs.

Decent romance. I didn't particularly care for it, I found it had too much content which at times made me bored as crap but it was well written and I think other people might enjoy it.

A quick but enjoyable read. Straight forward, the conflict was focused on the struggle to balance work, life, family responsibility and love.
