I really enjoyed this book. It is my favorite one so far in the series, but there were a few things I would have changed. It had the best plot out of all of them currently published that I have read, however it was a little predictable. It was fun to read and I couldn't put it down, and I am glad I bought it. So . . . I was at the store . . . just browsing through the books that they had . . . and I stumbled across a bunch of copies of this book . . . and my first reaction was:
OH MY GOD, THERE'S ANOTHER ONE?!?!?!?!
NO ONE TOLD ME THIS! Absolutely no one. When I finished the first book, no one said, "Hey Theresa, there's a 4th book, you know."

While the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is by far the most popular series in my school library, Dork Diaries is also very popular. I must confess that I find Dork Diaries more enjoyable. Maybe it's because I don't find Greg very likeable, maybe because I can relate to a girl main character better. But I think that it is most likely because Nikki personifies so well the dramas of middle school. This was the second series I bought after reading one or two books of The Diary of the Wimpy Kid. It's quite obvious that that time, I am fond of reading this diary books. Someone recommended me this series and I liked it especially since it has more detailed drawings than the Wimpy Kid. I thought that this book was totally awesome and hiliarious! It is about a girl named Nikki who is totally a dork. There is an ice-skating contest and Nikki signs up to try and save a business where a boy named Brandon works, who she totally likes. I love this book. It is my all-time favorite even though I know I am going to love all of the next books. I can really imagine the story happening in real life because it was extraordinarily detailed. I think other people would like this book especially if they like to do stuff like the main character.

well in this one nikki maxwell is going to compete to win money for a charity but her and her friends have to find one first and when they did find one she fond out that she was really bad at ice skating. so she got through the rehearsal but she and her friends got stuck in a closet and nikki has to get her sister to come and get her and her friends out. but when they do they have to go put thier costums on but they were stolen so they had to be clowns and it worked out for them cause nikki cant...more

Yup...Nikki is at it again. Signing up for the Ice Skating competition when she's never skated a day in her life. How hard can it be? She is doing it to help her crush, Brandon and his grandparents save their animal shelter which desperately needs funds. The winners get $3000 for their favorite charity! She just might be able to pull it off...if it weren't for snooty, evil Mackenzie. She'll do anything to see Nikki fail and get Brandon for herself.

Nikki isn't surprised to learn that Brandon volunteers at an anima shelter and is happy to volunteer with him. But Brandon tells Nikki that the animal shelters is going to have to close down. Nikki wants to do whatever she can to help the shelter stay open, even if it means having to try and skate on ice.

Not going to give away any spoilers, but this fourth book in the Dork Diaries series (which seems to be expanding massively) was just as great as the others, with a hint of cute animals in a shelter that need to besaved, an ice skating competition that both Mackenzie and Nikki have entered (OF COURSE!) and Brandon being cute and crush-worthy as ever. Don't miss another one of the truthful, individual Dork Diaries series that REALLY needs to be made into a few movies! Recommended mostly for girls...more

I think that the book, Skating Sensation, by Rachel Renee Russell, is for girls ages nine to fourteen, who like realistic fiction, a little bit of romance, and reading in diary form. I would read this book again. Nikki Maxwell finds out her boyfriend is working at Fuzzy friends, the local pet shelter that his aunt owns. The shop was going to shut down ,so Nikki decides that she is going to skate in her schools charity skate show for fuzzy friends. Brilliant right?! Well not until Mackenzie comes. I enjoyed this book very much, and no, this is not the same as Diary Of A Wimpy Kid (another great book series). I love the Way Miss Russell exposes the characters and how most middle school students can relate to Nikki and her up side down family and how she deals with Mackenzie, Chloe and Zoey, and Brandon. I would recommend this book (and the whole series) to everyone of all ages. I can't wait for the future books!
I don't really have an addiction to dork diaries, but I read 1-2, skipped three, cause I couldn't find it anywhere, then I read this one. The writing in the books isn't very high quality, like, it sounds like something you could just put together in a day. However, its addicting! Sometimes I find myself reading until I finish the whole book! I gave this 5 stars because of that, and the art style.
i liked this book because Its funny how Nikki is trying to get the Fuzzy Friends to stay and also (brandon).And she will do whatever it takes to let them stay. Ostly she is represnting Fuzzy Friends in skating but the problem is that she dosent know how to skate. And she tries everything to win the skating competision.And its funny how she passe alot of embarresing stuff with brianna.
Another entry into the Dork Diaries series. This doesn't fail to entertain. Fans of the series will be happy to see Nikki back and fighting for her crush, Brandon. Brandon volunteers for an animal shelter and it is in need of money to stay open. Nikki, Chloe, and Zoey enter an ice skating competition to get the money. But you just know that Mackenzie will get involved also!
Even though these books are supposed to be for Tweens, I like this series. It makes me want to do a better job at keeping a journal and draw in it.

I thought this book was different from the rest of the series. I liked that because the book got even funnier. I like funny books! This book was also good to me because I like ice/ figure skating, but when I was younger I was terrible. Don't ask me if that's what I want to be when I grow up, because I haven't decided. You should read this if you haven't already!
I always love Dork Diaries series!! It is a story about one dork girl who has 2 bestfriends & 1 crush who is super nice. This book was about Nikki who doesn't know how to skate but volunteer to skate to save Fuzzy Friends (a pet store) from closing their pet store & apparently that pet store is Brandon's granparents business. Which means, if they close their business, Brandon has to move out from his school! :O
