Another of my entries to the list of "Books that more people should know about". Eternal Vows is not the most innovative and fresh concept books that you may come across as there is nothing new about the story. A woman in search of her long lost sister accidently stumbles upon a portal to another dimension. Getting married to a powerful, immortal and gorgeous King clearly on a case of mistaken identity. Escaping from the clutches of a forced marriage while trying to fight down her undeniable att...more
I really can't wait to continue this series. There is something about the story that plunge me into a world that's mystical, enigmatic and addictive.
After being transported through a portal with no way of return. Sarah larker finds herself married to possessive king whilst getting herself tangled in a war between immortal kings. I know what everyone is thinking, cool. The second you read this blurb is the second you realize that nothing can really go wrong with this book: I mean who doesn't wan...more

Romance novels are meant to be fun escapes, and this one is definitely that. This author spins an intriguing tale of adventure, romance, immortality, and suspense! Eternal Vows is a time travel romance story filled with twists and turns. Sarah is a tough heroine who finds herself in a different world, the same world her sister disappeared years earlier. Amongst lots of unseen circumstances and complications, Sarah is determined to find out what happened to Liz, rescue her sister, and return home...more
I got this book because it was a Kindle Freebie and the storyline description sounded like a fluffy but potentially interesting read.
The beginning put me off and I was ready to abandon it at 7%, but I thought, I should give it till 15% by which point I was drawn in.
I'll start with things that I liked about it. For being a solid 8, maybe 9, on the Fluffy scale, I found the characters incredibly engaging. There was some friction throughout that I think is a key factor in what made them interesting...more

I was really intrigued by the premise of Eternal Vows as it seemed like a fun mash-up of several genres I like (Fantasy, Time Travel, Romance, Action/Adventure) and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed the book so much that I blew through it in less than 24 hours and was left wanting more. The author has an engaging style of writing, a lot of imagination, and knows how to inject the right amount of humor and pathos in a story. Sarah is a likable, self-deprecating heroine, so it was fun to spend time...more

First, you need to start this story knowing that it is a very light-hearted satire of the fantasy genre. What is interesting about it is that the story has the basic backbones to be a very good fantasy story, but the attempt at humor takes away from this completely. I alternated between laughing at a joke, then rolling my eyes for the next three pages of nonstop corny jokes. I think the book tries too hard to be funny, when it would still be just as good of a satire if all the bad jokes were cut...more
This is the second time I've read this book. The first time, I rated it a 5 star book with a very short review as follows: "The entertainment factor was high! A great fantasy complete with alpha immortals, a mouthy human woman and danger around every corner!" Hmmmm, I must say, I knew when I was reading it today that it was familiar AND I did NOT check on it until I had finished and decided on my rating.

Sparkling, creative; loved it
Eternal Vows pulls you into the story right from the start with intriguing action. Almost immediately you realize this is going to be a fun, and really interesting book.
I loved the mix of style. The narrative, dialogue, and the thoughts of the main character Sarah, was a great combination. This is an extra creative book with an original plot and characters.

Ok, so I would like to say that this book crept up on my slowly and bit me in the butt about halfway through. I said I would like to say this. Unfortunately, I can't say that. It hit me like a sledge hammer the first page of this story. I am telling you not only is this a totally original idea that made me go, "Ah man, why can't cool stuff like this happen to ME!" But it had me marveling at how well written this paranormal fantasy romance story was. I was sucked in from beginning to end and I re...more
I did not read the write up on this one before starting. The first thing I notice is how stubborn the lead character, Sarah, comes across. Also, the first thing that seemed to bother me the most was the pop culture references. Every two seconds we're reminded of how she should be tweeting about this or showing her license to that. It gets pretty annoying. We get it! She's been transported to a different era. Drop the tweeting, cameras, radios, license bits. Maybe one or two of those references w...more
Chrissy Peebles has created a magical portal with Eternal Vows that will suck you into a unique enchanting world!

An amazing story line!!!
A gripping magical story showing imaginative areas throughout- Bigfoot Guardians, an immortal king, knights and adventures. Sarah has an exciting trip ahead of her with King Victor in his enchanted world. Tripping through a portal inside a cave leads to an unbelievable train of story links, showing great creativity.
An unusual but realistic writing style makes this a must for 'reality type viewers', certainly a challenge for the general reader...more

Huh. Parts of this story are really, really annoying and ridiculous and other parts were cool fantasy...it was weird. I will probably, eventually, read the next one because more then anything I am intrigued by Sarah and Victor.
Sarah is 24 and a Bigfoot researcher out in the woods at night with her team. They are right by the area where Sarah's sister, Liz, went missing 10 years ago and Sarah saw her first Bigfoot.
Frank, an investigative reporter who has given Sarah and her team a bad name, but a...more

I give the author props for some originality as far as skipping into another dimension- a race of Bigfoots (or is it Bigfeet) are the guardians of the portals. However, I felt very little passion emanating from the love story elements. Supposedly she is emotionally bound to this king after putting on the ring and kissing him, which she seems to feel is the best kiss of her life. But then she runs off with another guy that has publicly made fun of her research and made her look like a quack. You...more
I enjoyed this read very much.
To start, the cover really grabbed my attention. The whimsical swirl seemed to pull me into a dream. And what a dream it was. Ms. Peebles grabs you from the get-go with action, peril, discourse, and humor. Her characters are well-rounded with distinctive voice and the story keeps you turning the page, chapter after chapter.
The main character is pulled into situations beyond her control and is at the mercy of friends and new acquaintances to rescue her. But the saucy...more

1.I skipped a lot of pages towards the end because I couldnt put up Sara's friends anymore. I wanted to shoot them all and then shoot me and them sgoot them again. Olease somebody do shoot them.
2.When you dont like two out of three main characters then whats the point of continue it? The point is the third character the one you like. Sara(always cynic this girl) and Frank(his motives for helping Sara are that tinie tiny little thing between his legs) are not very likeable characters. Victor on t...more

I liked this book a lot! There were several laugh out loud moments and the story kept moving at a good pace.
I loved the loyalty of Sarah's character to her friends and the mysteriousness of Victor.
I like the dilemma with the love triangle, Sarah has to decide if she still loves Frank or if she's in love with Victor. Also she's not sure if she really has feelings for Victor or if it is the magic of the ring making her believe she loves him. That is kind of an interesting and different twist to a...more

I just read this book the other day. I liked the premise, where a group of researchers ends up in a different world, much like the middle ages of our world. The heroine of the story finds her self wed to one of the kings, and not just any king, the one set to essentially rule the world next. In the process of wedding this king, she receives a ring. But little does she know just how much trouble she is going to get into by getting married much less the changes the ring brings about in her life. L...more
I'm stuck at an airport with five hours to kill and I read this book in my first two. I can't specifically remember what drew me to downloading this story, but I was surprised by the content. Generally, I don't go for Bigfoot expedition gone wrong kinds of stories. That said, the alternate universe where they ended up sounded quite interesting. I was terribly sad for Sarah at the end of the story and sincerely hope in the future sequels the bad thing is found to be inaccurate. I won't immediatel...more
I really enjoyed this book. Travel to another dimension, a farce marriage, bride on the run, magical jewelry, missing people...what more could you possibly want?
I can't wait to pick up the next book in this series and figure out where the story goes from here. It was really well done with a great plot line that moved quickly and had lots of action in it. I was very excited about this book because I have read Chrissy Peebles' Young Adult books and loved them. She has a flare for fantasy, which she has brought over into this book, the first in The Ruby Ring Series.
Chrissy brought to romance what she does best, and that's a rich fantasy world that stretches the imagination. When Sarah steps through a cave in search of Bigfoot, she finds herself stepping back in time, surrounded by a Medieval world filled with kings, knights, and intrigue. Her sist...more

Just finished reading this book, didnt know what to expect when I started reading. Were introduced to Sara she a researcher investigating Bigfoot, shes also trying to find her sister who disappered 10 years earlier in the same area. Sara and her ex Frank run into the these Bigfoots and end up in a cave where they are transported to a wierd medieval type world. Shes mistaken for a princess and held captive by a Immortal King named Victor. Then shes forced to marry the King. This book was very fun...more
Story had potential but the execution fell flat.
Zero connection with any of the characters. There were inconsistencies in dialogue (the "other dimension" characters slipped up and used some "modern/real world" phrasing) that jarred believability. The "witty" banter was annoying and superficial. Disappointingly short time spent with Victor, who is probably the most interesting character in the book (though that's not saying much).

Picked up as a freebie a while back.
I liked parts of the story and disliked others. The characters were interesting, but I'm not sure if they lived up to their potentials. The story is intriguing but I do not feel like it hand an actual climax. Like it just ended so the book can end and be ready for the next one to start. I almost feel like I didn't get a whole story, just part of one and that is why it only gets a 2 star rating.

Chrissy Peebles, a practicing nurse, has always loved reading and writing fantasy from the earliest age she can remember. She plotted every single twist she could think of during bedtime stories for her children. When her little ones begged for more adventures, she felt confident enough to let her overeager imagination and sense of humor spill out into her first novel. She lives in Ohio with her h...more
