ummm, rippers?? you guys are gonna read this, too, right? because this book is okay, but not something i would have read without the protective herd of y'all around me.

and i refuse to be the only one who has had to read lines like:

She still had trouble believing she could use this spectacular body as her sensual playground.

and:

That man wasn't about to shelve his condoms in just one woman's bedside table.

don't make me play the hurricane card.

This review has been brought to you by cold medicine.

I was outlining this story for my husband, because that is how I roll, and I had a revelation. Let me spread the Good News to you as well. George "Two Orgasms" Malone is an ad exec or something who is brought in to head a campaign for a clothing company. The spokesman for this campaign is a Manitoba-bred hockey dude with a team call the Beavers. (Stop snickering!) He has a lot of fans.

This is a fun, sexy story! Woody and Georgia are about as opposite as a man and woman can get but the old adage, “opposites attract” definitely applies to them. Their determination to remain uninvolved romantically while enjoying each others’ company in bed makes for some great sexual tension.

This story made me think of many of my GR friends as Georgia and her book club friends have decided to broaden their horizons and have chosen their first erotic read, "The Sexual Education of Lady Emma Whit...more

September was the five year anniversary of my local Jane Austen book club. To celebrate, we did not read The Jane Austen Book Club ((view spoiler)[lousy book (hide spoiler)]). We did talk about what we'd read in those five years and what has happened to us as people and as friends. As social groups go, the book club is an interesting one. I've been in several that I didn't last through more than a meeting or two. Sometimes the leader is too much of one; sometimes the other participants are creep...more

I like the concept of this book. Three girlfriends who meet for a monthly book club decide to spice it up and move away from their normal literary fiction selections, and choose a historical erotica instead. I assume subsequent books in this series will feature each book club member. This one focuses on Georgia and Woody. Georgia is a marketing executive in charge of a hockey star’s new VitalSports marketing campaign. Georgia married her true love, only to have him die in a car crash a few years...more

The Dirty Girls Book Club is a fun, sexy, intriguing read that is easy to get hooked on. It’s written a lot like a hockey playoff game, fast paced, exciting, and leaves you breathless at the end.

Georgia has landed her first major marketing campaign. She is extremely career driven and needs to show her boss that she has what it takes to make this assignment successful. Her professional career is on the path to greatness, but her personal life is le...more

!!!!WARNING SPOILER ALERT!!!

‘The Dirty Girls Book Club’ written by Savanna Fox tells the story of 25 year old widow Georgia Malone, a Marketing Executive who is a part of a book club. Her life is turned upside down when she meets Woody Hanrahan, a famous Canadian Hockey player who she has to work with for an ad campaign.

The Plot
Surrounding the life of Georgia, the plot is about her relationship with the hockey player and the growth of their relationship while she struggles with their first encou...more

I'm so-so on this one. Loved the hockey, but felt like the "book" part distracted the author from spending enough time creating a deeper connection with the characters. Some people might have loved the book within a book, but it took up too much time. I didn't mind the girls discussing the book, but I'd have rather gotten to know Woody's team mates and had some banter then read about some Comte sexually educating a widow. Although, really, I could have done without most of the sex anyway. I thou...more

I will admit that the title of this one grabbed my attention, but it wasn't as near dirty as I thought it would be, it was however very fun to read. Woody was charming in the way some men who are just big 5 year olds can be, while Georgia was trying to ride herd on him, to make the advertising campaign a success.

I really liked 2 different aspects of this book, the first with the girls reading a book that seemed to parallel Georgia's life and the classing up of Woody.

As the girls read the book i...more

We picked this book for our anniversary book club meeting. The title was the clincher. I've read books by Savanna Fox but in her AKA name of Susan Lyons so I was looking forward to it. Sadly, for me, this book didn't have a happy ending, or I should say that was the only part of the book I liked. To start with I felt that Georgia was cold and belittling. She acted like Woody was a bum off the street with no manners. In the beginning of the book she tells him more then once how to speak the right...more

I herd about this one on Utube. I was a bit dissapointed with it to start with, because it wasn't much about the book club and more about the main chracter Georgia. Georgia is a widow who I think she works in advertising, She is very independent, she dosnt want to rely on a man because her mum lived her life through the men in her life. Georgia meets Hokey star Woody Hanrahan, believe it or not but they have sex in the conference rook just after meeting for the first time. (he did happen to be i...more

What a pleasant surprise. I'm a huge hockey fan and when I saw this book was about a hockey player, I was excited.

Not only is this book about a book club but it mainly focuses on Georgia. Her soul mate died a few years ago in a car accident and she hasn't really moved on.

Woody is stuck doing a marketing campaign to get some money to pay for his mother's medical bills. When he meets George, who's in charge of the campaign his preconceived notions went right out the door.

Georgia needs to learn...more

With this book I felt like, more than usual for romances, the author was trying to serve me a self-insert daydream of great & sexy times. Unfortunately, I do not want to be inserted into any of these people, doing any of these things. The reader is given multitudinous and detailed descriptions of characters dining at upscale restaurants, lounging in trendy clubs, maaaaaaakeovers, and ordering salads. I don't want to read about people ordering salmon, not when those people are duller than a c...more

I was intrigued by the premise of this book, but unfortunately, it failed to hold my interest. Though the writing is flowing and easy-to-read, I found that the heroine, Georgia was difficult to like. She is uptight and very serious and has never had an orgasm before. In this new endorsement deal with the sexy hockey player, Georgia seemed very judgemental and very uninformed about hockey. This made it hard to really believe that she is a marketing executive who is in charge of the entire campaig...more

Instead of giving you yet another recap of the book description I’m just going to jump right into my opinion of Dirty Girls Book Club. I think that this story was very well written. The details were very thorough and the editing was fantastic. Personally I’ve been aggravated lately with stories that have so many errors that you need to reread a paragraph ten times to figure out what they actually meant to say. That is not a problem here. Samantha’s editor is on the ball. However, in my opinion,...more

Georgia is heading up a major marketing campaign for a sportswear client who has signed on Woody Hanrahan, an all-star hockey player in Vancouver, as their model for the company’s launch in Canada. These two people don’t get off to the best start, which lasts for just minutes until these two strangers get busy in Georgia's office. Georgia is all buttoned up, she takes her job seriously and believes she needs to completely reform Woody in...more

4 out of 5 stars

This was a quick read for me, and--for the most part--I really enjoyed it. I personally think the Series should be entitled "The Dirty Girls Book Club" and each individual book be named something else. I felt like the *main* focus of this book was Georgia and Woody's romance, and that the book club thing was just kind of off to the side on its own (which was totally okay by me!). I do wish the girls of the book club had opened up to each other more about their personal lives. I f...more

Ok so I only gave this book 2 stars. The best part of this book was the hockey....well you know, NHL lockout and all I miss the one sport I grew to love. The sex just wasn't gritty enough for me although it was steamy just had a bit of a problem with the connection of the characters.

So read it for a light casual read with steamy sex and can't believe I'm saying this but mostly for the love of the game, it got my blood pumping more than the erotic appeal that drew me to it in the fist place. Ug...more

"The Dirty Girls Book Club" was the 1st book by Savanna Fox/Susan Lyons that I've read. I really enjoy this book,I couldn't put this book down.

The book begins with Georgia meeting with four friends who have established a book club together. The majority of the women feel their recent book choices have been too boring. One friend suggests that they expand their book selection for the month into a more racy genre; historical erotica.Georg...more

Way to make a book attractive by just looking at the cover. Not only is it a stunning cover, but the title of this book is bound to catch your eye and make you want to read it. Although I'll admit I don't think it necessarily goes with the book. Yes, there is a book club involved in the life of our heroine but they are by no stretch of the imagination a bunch of dirty girls and the book they are just now reading is their first smutty read.

"The Dirty Girls Book Club" was the 1st book by Savanna Fox/Susan Lyons that I've read. Hockey is my favorite sport; and I couldn't resist reading about about a female, non-hockey fan, marketing executive and a captain of a hockey team.
The work and personal relationship between Emma and Woodrow(Woody)is supplemented by Emma's book club current reading assignment.
Near the end of the book both characters have trust issues; and both have to decide what is the "truth" of their relationship.

I really liked this love story and the way Georgia compares herself to Lady Emma.Everyone of us at some point read a book that means more thenn others, just because it's the right time to read it.
I like Georgia's character because she is a strong, indipendent woman and she knows she is worth more than just her body. Woody...well, I like him, I found him funny and charming, and so cute because he doesn't even realize he is in love. The end of the book was really romantic.

I personally would not have picked up this book myself. I'm glad that I did and am reading this with my bookclub. It's pretty fun to be reading a book about book clubs and it's even an erotica!

The book is pretty well written with a good story and plot. This book is more than just an erotica book. It has romance, family and sports in it, although the amount of sports speeches could get a little heavy at times but I'm still fine with it.

One thing I couldn't get over it is how Georgia kept harbori...more

A fun read! I'm a bit disappointed by the cover and title. The guy doesn't at all look like the main guy. And, the book club is very minor.

A flowing story which paces nicely. The characters are familiar. The featured book for the club is a good foil to the 'real world'.

I would like to have had more time with the book club. The characters represented different aspects and were well placed to keep Georgia thinking about her own hopes and expectations. But, they also had intriguing back stories. O...more

I went into this book not expecting much and therefore wasn't disappointed. It has very mixed reviews I noticed, mainly because of the 'in-book inserts.' I did find myself skipping over them. But, I liked the story and having never watched a game of hockey in my life, I was intrigued enough to research the sport.

I'd recommend this book if you're after a light read. Maybe a holiday read.
