All Ivy had ever wanted was a safe, secure life with no drama. Now she was working in an adult theme park where visitors came to role-play their wildest imaginings. She reminded herself to stay focused on her job and to ignore everything else. The reminders didn’t work. One man drew her. Murmur was every erotic dream she’d tried to repress, every deliciously dangerous temptation she said she didn’t need. Her instinct suggested that this was a man who walked in darkness. She ignored the warning.

I adore the Castle of Dark Dreams. There is always interesting mayhem, hunky tortured heroes in need of saving and a couple of Cosmic Troublemakers to keep the stories from taking themselves too seriously. Ms. Bangs does serve up a satisfying assortment of drama, suspense, double-cross and general spookiness but it’s balanced with a delightful sense of quirkiness, naughty and sometimes suggestive humor or outright knee slapping hilari...more

3 star = I liked it - As much as I've enjoyed the formula of the Castle Dark Dreams stories - with pairing that are just so wrong for each other that they end up being just right - the last few books have been just a little too formulaic, so I was happy that in not following strictly by the numbers and lightening up on the role of Sparkle and Ganymede and Asima, Wicked Whispers ended up being on of the best stories in the series in a while.

This isnt the first book Ive read by Nina bangs but its the first Ive read in the Castle of Dark Dreams series. Of course it had the requisit bad ass hero with isses and the heroine with daddy issues and omg suddenly has powers (cliche in both YA and adult romance) but sill I enjoyed the fact that Murmur (choke) really had been a bad ass demon that enjoyed killing but has changed but Ivy did annoy me so much Kellen needed a parental smack down she didnt really even seem to care she has to remind...more
In Wicked Whispers, Nina Bangs reintroduces us to the Castle of Dark Dreams, an adult theme park and its sinfully wicked cast of supernatural characters.
Ivy Lowe wants a normal life, but she unknowingly takes a job at a hotel run by cosmic troublemakers, vampires, and demons.
She meets a mysterious stranger on the beach. Murmur, the demon of music, draws her into a sensuous dance that should be her death. Ivy frees herself from his grasp temporarily, but his sensual lips, the heat of his touch,...more

“Personally, I don’t like the clawed hands. It’s tough to play a guitar with them.”
If you are not reading the Castle of Dark Dreams series you are missing out on some great paranormal books and characters. Wicked Whispers is the sixth book in the series that takes place on an island off the coast of Galveston, Texas where people come to have their wildest fantasies acted out by real life vampires, demons and wizards. The Castle of Dark Dreams is definitely a place I love to visit. It is filled with action, magic and sigh-worthy romance. I loved the story of Murmur who can kill with his music and Ivy who he bewitches one dark night on a Galveston beach. The story is filled with action and quirky characters such as Sparkle the cosmic troublemaker, Ganymede, the fat grey cat and Asima, the messenger of the goddess Bast. If you enjoy a story filled with demons, fairies, wizards (and more) along with a passionate...more
I haven't been back to this series for a while, but picking up and reading this book was like being back with old friends. The Castle of Dark Dreams is run by Sparkle now, still with her Ganymede. Our hero for the story is a music demon and our heroine is part fey.
Vampires, demons, fairy, shifters, and sourcers float through the story line as Murmer our hero faces challenge after challenge. Ivy our heroine learns to see him as he really is now and not as he once was. Two very different but lovi...more

3.5 stars Bangs continues to expand this world and its characters. Even her reoccurring ones continue to move forward in their lives. I have a feeling for a hero in a future book based on some of the closing events in this book. Bangs to me is always good for some laughs and some smexytimes.
Well this was the most musical book I have read. LOL
Not my fave CODD book of hers, but definitely entertaining. Ganymede, Sparkle, and Asima always crack me up. It was cool to finally see what Asima looked like outside of her cat form, however, I thought the first time it said she was blond, then the second time her hair was black...so either I misread one or that is such a silly, preventable error and it bothered me for the rest of the book.

Talk about misspent youth. What did I do during those lazy summer days of childhood when I could’ve been honing my writing skills? Nothing. Okay, so I spent a lot of time dreaming I was a cowgirl with a trusty black stallion. Oh, and I read every Walter Farley horse novel. I was an only child so I relied on my imagination to supply the excitement in my life.
