At the top of the world…
At the bottom of the sea…
A war has begun.

Below the polar ice cap, an American nuclear submarine moves quietly in the freezing water, tailing a new Russian sub. But the usual, unspoken game of hide-and-seek between opposing captains is ended when the Americans hear sounds of disaster and flooding, and the Russian sub sinks in a thousand feet of wat

George Wallace, a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine service, and Don Keith, a professional journalist/writer collaborate on this intensely exciting military thriller.

A Russian nationalist coup attempt is combined with a software-borne assault on the New York Stock Exchange by the Russian Mafia, with some greedy Americans trying to get some action on the side, to make a complex, fast-moving read.

If you're not sure how submarines and SEALs could be the major part of this story, then you n

I picked the book off the shelf, with nothing else telling me what it was about other than submarines. I'm always looking for yarns about submarines.

The story includes:
Submarines - US Los Angeles Class & Russian Akula
SEALS
Financial system hacking by the Russian mob

An interesting mix. The subs and SEALS are the more interesting part, with the financial portion in New York seemly tacked on. As someone who was in the financial industry, it didn't feel right. The technology details are light, wh

Okay I can't be completely objective since I know the author (my dad). He asked me to read his book, and hey I really liked it even thought I am not the typical action novel fan. I'm a harsh critic, relations be damned, and my friends know that what everyone else would consider a 5, I would give a 4, I reserve my 5 for "I would not change one thing" experiences.

I would have no reservations recommending the book to anyone who does like reading naval thrillers/action books. I appreciated getting

Read my signed copy (signed at Henderson Hall BX by Cdr (Ret) Wallace a couple of weeks ago) for my daughter/son-in-law and then hand delivered to me in Vermont. One of the best I have read in a long time. I thought this story would make a terrific movie and when I researched Wallace's name I find that it is being considered right now. Read the book first and then watch the movie when it comes out.
