1800’s, San Antonio, Texas: In room 207 at the Longhorn Saloon, in the long shadow of the Alamo itself, a woman renowned for her beauty was brutally murdered. Her killer was never found.
One year ago: In that same historic room, another woman vanished without a trace. Her blood was everywhere…but her body was never recovered.

Now this is a story. There is a whole series & this is book ten. I actually have the whole series & I'm going to read them for Samhain. But for now this book?!! Is just too awesome. The characters were well written & amazingly realistic. The two stories intertwined & OMGosh I fell so bad for the original character, by choosing the wrong man her story and her life were changed forever. The modern story i...more

This is my first story by Heather Graham, and I have to say it was pretty good. I don't usually read paranormal stories but this was done very well. Kelsey O'Brien is a U.S. Marshall that has a special ability that she sees ghosts and that helps her find victims of brutal crimes, has been picked to join a special task force to help solve unsolved murders. Logan Raintree is a Texas Ranger with the ability to see and speak to the dead,if he touches the body he can speak to them. The case they are...more

Meet Texas Ranger Logan Raintree known for his ability to solve cases and save victims. He has been asked to head a new investigative team for the FBI filled with agents who seem to have special abilities like his...he sees the dead.

Unsure if he will accept the new offer he teams up with possible team member US Marshal Kelsey O'Brien, known for her intuition, to solve a string of murders/disappearances that have occurred in the San Antonio area. And seem to have a connection to a murder of a you...more

Heather Graham is kicking off a spin-off series to her Krewe of Hunters books, with this romantic-suspense, peppered with paranormal elements. As someone who has never read the original series, I can tell you that this is a great place for new readers to jump in, since a crew of all-new characters are introduced. And I never felt lost at any time.

Jackson Crow is the leader of a paranormal law enforcement group and he is putting together the second team of its kind to help investigate crimes. To...more

Once again the Krewe from Heather Graham's previous works have reappeared, this time in San Antonio.

Someone is killing young women around town. How are they connected to The Alamo, a hotel called the Longhorn, and a cursed diamond that's been missing for over 100 years?

I always enjoy Heather Graham's stories weaving the paranormal and a good mystery. The romance between Logan and Kelsey is just a small part of this novel, but fits nicely into the storyline. Logan, a Texas Ranger, and Kelsey, a F...more

Unseen is another novel involving Krewe of Hunter's leader Jackson Crow. He is in Texas, putting together a new crew, since his team is stretched to the limit with investigations and the characters have all been paired off. Graham delivers a novel filled with murder, mystery, suspense, paranormal activity and a new romance. I like the way the dead assist the living in these mystery driven romances.

Young woman are showing up murdered near the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. All of these young women...more

*3.5 Stars* This is the first in the new Texas Krewe of Hunters. While most of Graham’s books have been set in Florida (mostly Key West) or some in New Orleans this is set in San Antonio, Texas. It is the start up of the new Krewe of Hunters. A new branch of the Harrison Investigation/Krewe of Hunters in New Orleans series.

Logan is a Texas Ranger who is coming back from losing his wife three years ago after a revenge killing for putting a man into prison....more

First, I want to say that this is my first Heather Graham book, and it has gotten me hooked. I just purchased all of her Krewe of Hunters series and am eager to read them.

So this book, as I understand, is a branching off of her Krewe of Hunters series. I realized this about a chapter in when the Krewe of Hunters was mentioned and I thought to myself, I think I have a book on hold that is from a series by the same name. I paused,...more

THE UNSEEN caught my interest immediately and held it tight until the stunning conclusion. The characters are wonderful and very realistic. The pacing is spot on as the reader is taken on a roller coaster of a ride as the team attempts to catch the murderer before more bodies are found.

Having a federal unit consisting of members with ‘special’ gifts is not a new theme though most fit into the thriller/suspense genre. Ms. Graham has definitely added her own deft touch with the sparks that Logan...more

So here's the deal -

This story revolves around a local legend in San Antonio Texas. 1800s at the Longhorn Saloon, which is located a stones throw from the Alamo, room 207 was the place of a murder. A beautiful young woman is killed for a diamond that her lover won in a card game, but the gem was never found by the murderer.

Present Day. Kelsey O'Brien, a US Marshall is staying at the saloon and inn, now owned by childhood friend Sandy. She has been offered a position with the FBI in their Krewe...more

The Unseen is the continuation of the "Krewe of Hunters" series that features Jackson Crow and his team of paranormal federal agents. This time, Jackson Crow is putting together a new Krewe of Hunters team and he wants Logan Raintree to head it. I liked this story. The Alamo has a fascinating history and always makes for a good ghost story. The Unseen definitely has a good ghost story! The book ends with a nice little twist that I never saw coming so I was as surprised as the characters.

As with...more

I'll give all of the long time Heather Graham fans a warning. The old Graham is probably never going to come back. I'd liken her older books to rich Godiva chocolate: rich and oh-so-sinfully bad for you, whereas her newer books are like Hershey chocolate: good, but not nearly as good as the Godiva was. This is pretty much the case here in this book.

I'll be honest and say that while this wasn't an "oh my gosh, read it until my eyeballs pop out" type of book, it wasn't bad and is an improvement ov...more

Kelsey O’Brien is a Florida US Marshall who’s been summoned to Texas to learn about a job over with the FBI, she’s got no interest in switching law enforcement branches, but she isn’t given a choice about going to at least consider the job. Logan Raintree is a Texas Ranger sent to San Antonio for the same reason. Jackson Crow is trying to assemble a second Krewe of Hunters, his first is spread too thin and there’s a...more

Having only read a handful of Heather Graham's previous books, she was never a "must read" author to me. Not sure why, exactly I decided to check this one out, but I did....and, I'm glad! In her other books that I'd read, they had a slow start. Always ended well, making me glad I read them, but they didn't reel me in right away. This is SO not the case with The Unseen! It was good from beginning to end.

The book starts out in the 1800s, then switches to present day. Maybe that's where I'm lured i...more

In light of my low rating, I must first confess this was the first Heather Graham book I've read. I don't know how I missed her before - she appears to be as prolific in her way as James Patterson.

I was born, raised and have lived my entire life in Texas. San Antonio is my favorite city in Texas, although I've never lived there. With that in mind, I expected a lot more from this book and a seemingly well-established author.

I had such high hopes for this book and had eagerly awaited its release,...more

Lately Heather Graham has been writing ghost story romances, and I like them. I’m not biased or anything. This story takes us to San Antonio, home of the Alamo. Logan Raintree is a Texas Ranger on the case of what he believes to be a serial killer. He is asked to join a special FBI team, or at least work with them for this case. People know there’s something special about him, maybe just not exactly what. Kelsey O’Brien is in a similar situation, and is teamed up with Logan. With help of friends...more

In Graham’s paranormal novel, room 207 at the Longhorn Saloon has been the scene of many crimes over the past century. In that very same room today, another woman vanishes never to be heard from again. San Antonio has become a dumping ground for mutilated bodies and Texas Ranger Logan Raintree and U.S. Marshal Kelsey O’Brien are approached to join a team of elite paranormal investigators currently working on the unsolved case. Together, Kelsey and Logan will follow their instincts to the Alamo a...more

To be fair, I only read 3/4 of the book, and skimmed the last 1/4 of it. I used to really enjoy Graham's books, but I have found them to be very formulatic of late: same basic storyline, types of characteres, and plot; just a different place. It seems that in an effort to turn them out into mass publishing sooner, they have become "plug in" storylines that end up feeling forgettable and redundant. The last time I really enjoyed a Graham book was probably the Deadly series (3 in the series); I ha...more

First thought: I really like the new team :)

What I Thought of the Case: The Unseen is set in San Antonio, TX and as a Native Texan I had to love it! As a history buff, I loved the setting even more. It was centered around The Alamo and the history of a missing diamond. The killings were very much committed by humans but the ghosts were such a HUGE help in figuring it out. I di...more

Heather Graham comes through again. Although I did figure out the mystery before the end because it was the only logical answer I still enjoyed it. It is the next continuation of the Krewe of Hunters although you do not have to read that series to get this one. She only uses two of the previous characters which are Jake Mallory and Jackson Crow and they are not big roles. The Krewe of Hunters have grown out of the Harrison Investigations and again you do not need to read all those to read to get...more

As October approaches, I feel the need to reach into my book shelves and start reading some old fangled ghost stories - except Heather Graham's are today's mysteries that reach back into the past. In this recently released book (one of a new 2012 series), we find new characters in the midst of solving a series of mysterious deaths that have some sort of connection to San Antonio's The Alamo, the Galvaston Diamond and a local resurrected saloon. She does a good job of providing historical context...more

I do enjoy Heather Graham novels, and live the way she mixes mystery and romance. I picked this book up, after having read and loved her Bone Island Trilogy, and thought there would
be more ghost/living interaction. I did enjoy Zachary, I just felt that the Alamo had so many spirits that could've interacted with the unit. The novel was a little transparent, I could predict certain things that happened and clues before they were revealed. This didn't take away the appeal or the experience of the b...more

I enjoyed this book. Jackson Crow has been charged with setting up a 2nd Krewe of Hunters . . . with their first case revolves around the Alamo and the Longhorn Saloon.

I really like the awkward start of this new group getting to know each other and deciding on whether or not they'd actually be a group. I'm really intrigued by Sean's character.

Logan and Kelsey seemed to fit a little too well right off the bat though. I think they're a good couple, but their relationship felt a little rushed to me...more

This was a fairly good entry in the paranormal crime-solving genre. I really enjoy the genre and liked the acknowledgement in the novel that there are more would-be talents than genuine ones. The book centered around the history of The Alamo and the Longhorn Saloon and I found that very interesting. Not being a student of that historical period, I don't know how accurate it was, but for a layperson, it was enjoyable.

The mystery itself was adequate. I didn't find the book to have any major twist...more

As always this was a fantastic book. Lots of paranormal activities. A new team is being brought in, with appearances from the members of the first team. Still trying to figure out why (SPOILER) Tyler is on the new team, when he was involved for maybe 2 pages of the book. Then again, Ms Graham, doesn't bring in any of the other team members abilities and only hints at Sean's in a comment made between him and Kelsey. Can't wait for The Unholy to come out, hoping that Ms Graham continues to bring i...more

The Unseen is the latest book by Heather Graham. I can say this book belongs in some part to the Krewe of Hunters series or at least it runs parallel to that series.

Jackson Crow, the leader of the original Krewe of Hunters is in Texas organizing a second crew, since his original group is already too busy working many cases and they are not enough for all the demand of work they have. They need more people and here is where Texas Rager Logan Raintree and U.S. Marshall Kelsey O’Brien come...more
