When Zachary West and Officer Stephen Miranda met two months ago, it shook up Stephen’s boring, paint-by-numbers life in ways he’d never expected. Now, though still in the closet at work, Stephen is realizing that the things he feels for his sparkly, out-and-proud lover are way beyond just lust and intrigue. He’s falling in love, but can someone like Zach live even partial...more

3.5 - Feels like I have been waiting for Zach and Officer Hotness forever. So happy we got to see another installment from these fantastically vibrant characters. I love the indulgence in the roll playing. Officer Hotness gets a 10 in this book for his love and just being there with Zach.

I would not be sad to see more from these two. Thanks Fae! Any thoughts on making more or longer stories?

I had been waiting for this sequel for more than a year, and I had great expectations about it.
I assume the author knew how many of us were, as book one was a huge hit for many.
I loved this couple, but, this story was too short, although it was still cute and funny.
I really, really hope the author won't let us wait another year to find out more about this gorgeous couple.
Not as good as book one by far, even though, quite enjoyable.

While Gambling On Maybe was extremely adorable and full of glitter and sparkles, this short story was sexy with a bit of a serious bend. The description made me think we would be dealing with Stephen coming out, which does not happen at all. Instead we get to look in on some of the sexual games Zach and Stevie have been playing and Zach deals with feeling like he isn't worthy of Stephen's growing affection. Like with the previous book, I wish we had more. I look forward to future books in this s...more

This is the follow-up story to Gambling on Maybe. Zach and Stephen have been dating for a while and Zach knows very well that Stephen in still in the closet at work, and decides to play the whole sneaking around thing for all it’s worth. When they have a chance to meet, Zach sets up trysts in seedy motels and dresses for effect. If nothing else, he’s decided that Stephen’s relationship with him, however long it lasts, will not be dull. Stephen...more

Cute! I hope we see more of these two. I'd pay good money for something novel length, swear to Gaga! ;D

While, yes, I did grumble when I found out that this was just another short story about Zach and his Officer Hotness, Stephen, but I couldn't help to still LOVIN' IT!!

Zach is just too adorable for words. The way he thinks of all those sneaky and kinky and naughty scenes to be 'played' with Stephen; since Zach thinks that because Stephen is in the closet, it is HIS duty to make that experience as fun as possible *grin*. The part where Zach starts to doubt about his worthiness, and decides to try...more

I read this as soon as I finished the first book. Zach and Stephan are fast becoming one of my favourite m/m couples.

This book had more of a serious side to it. It showed us that love can be found between opposites and how they can end up complimenting each other. We saw a more well rounded view of Zach. He wasn't as shallow this time. He realises he is in love, and doesn't know what to do about it.

Thankfully Stephan had the perfect words for him, and I was truly moved by this story.

My only prob...more

3.5 stars.

I must preface this review by stating I loved the prequel to this book, Gambling on Maybe. It was sweet, funny and had the best touch of hot sex combined with likeable characters. So, I was eagerly awaiting the sequel Games Boys Play, which takes up a little while after the first novella. Police officer Stephen “Stevie” Miranda and his utterly adorable lover Zachary West are still together, but not out as a couple due to Stephen’s job. Instead of bemoaning that fact and putting pressu...more

Naughty but nice little follow up to 'Gambling Man' the book where we first meet Zach and Stevie. In this one Zach is just as sparkly and outre, and Stevie still keeping their relationship under the radar but they're having a lot of fun spicing up their sex life by making love in more unusual places and doing a bit of ' role playing'!

Not very long again, but still fun, this has some sizzling hot and some sweet moments that I really enjoyed but I think the first one is definitely my favourite! S...more

First and foremost, I just love Zachary West. He is so, yes, glittery and sparkly. He is a happy person who makes the best of his life. Stephen is still in the closet and this is something that Zach accepts (at least right now) and makes it his goal to make Stephen’s life exciting. The hooker boots, holy hell, a smokin’ hot picture!

This is very short and is more of a chapter in the life of Zach and Stephen. I want to read more of these guys so we can get to the part where they can be together al...more

I simply adore Zach and love him with Stevie, his very own Officer Hotness. I really liked Zach's determination to turn a potentially difficult situation with a closeted lover into hot sexy games and secret trysts. It was a great attitude to have and so much fun for them both (I was laughing just reading about it). I can only hope one day we'll get a full length novel with these guys (and maybe more about Jordy). Because even though these little interludes are entertaining, they're not nearly en...more

Fae Sutherland has delivered more fun, kinky sex and hilarious antics from the very sweet and zany Zach who always leaves a trail of glitter in his wake… love it!

We last met Zach the very glittery and hilarious twink and Sergeant Stephen Miranda, Officer Hotness, the closet cop in Gambling on Maybe and I fell in love with them both, so I was excited to pick up the next in the series to see how these two loveable characters were getting on. Zach is such an uplifting character, his zany, wicked p...more

2.5 stars - "Games Boys Play" is minimally better than its predecessor, "Gambling on Maybe," but it's not a masterpiece by any means. The writing is better, but there's still some angsty mess toward the beginning and end, and what's supposed to be sexy really just comes off as kind of dumb. A lot of the stereotypes are still there, even if they aren't as frequently mentioned or alluded to.

Could have been better, and I'm returning it for a refund.

Very cute, adorable follow-up short story about Zach and Officer Stephen Miranda from Gambling On Maybe. I'll tell you right away that if you're looking for something with substance this is not the story for you. This is a story full of fun and sex and sexy games. And this works because Zack and Stephen are just awesome together - Zach is playful and crazy and calls all the shots, and Stephen is way too smitten with Stephen not to play along - especially since Zack finally brings the colour (and...more

For a short this was OK. But it has so much potential to be more.

Zach and Stevie are a great couple. Zach is sparkly and in your face, while Stevie is more reserved and would rather fit in than stand out. I imagine the hurdles they would face as a couple, plus the fun they would have together would be exactly the kind of book I’d put on my favourites shelf.

But sadly these little shorts don’t give me the satisfaction I crave.

Of course I had to read this right away! I loved the first one and this one didn't disappoint either.
To be fair, I have to say the blurb led me to picture a different story than this turned out to be.
(view spoiler)[ the story wasnt about Stevie coming out of the closet or any major changes, it was more about Zach and Stevie having exciting encounters and discovering they love each other. (hide spoiler)]
Short, steamy and sweet!

Another chance on yet another recommendation from Monique, and what do you get?? A really good read!

This is a follow-up to 'Gambling on Maybe', and I won't go into great detail as Monique has written such a wonderful review, but I really enjoyed catching up with Zach and Stevie again, and Zach's penchant for sex in unusual places!

This is a short sequel to "Gambling On Maybe". I totally loved it. Zach is so funny and so damn cute. You can't help but love him. Stephen is just as lovable but he's the polar opposite of Zach.

It was really cool to see Zach and Stephen again. I hope the author keeps giving us new stories so we can watch as the relationship continues to unfold. Such a cute couple. I can't wait to read more about them.

(I LOVE the cover)

Very cute follow up story to Gambling On Maybe. Although this story is a bit short, we get a nice glimpse into the relationship between Zach, the glittery, flamboyant out and proud twink and Stephen (Stevie) the big, strong, in the closet at work cop.

I wonder if the author has more short stories planned for these two. I would love to see a storyline about how Stevie comes out at work.

3.5 stars This is my favourite pairing in m/m romance. The conflicted, closeted cop and the flamboyant, out and proud younger man. Shame it's such a short story.:( I hope the author writes more stories about Zach and Officer Hotness! I'd love to see how they go with Stephen coming out, moving in together, getting a HEA etc. They'd definitely make good MC's in a mystery novel. hint-hint!
Jess
A perfect sequel.

This story builds on the first one with a little bit of angst and character development. The sex is perfect and does not overtake the plot.

I am split - half of me wants a heap more of these small glimpse of their lives but the other part want a longer more fulfilling story.

Another cute, hot, very very fun installment of the story of Zach and Stephen. Loved the way these guys are with each other and you can feel their love. Zach and Jordy's relationship is also a nice thing to see.

Is this author open to bribery so that we can have much much more of the story of Zach and Stevie???
Rachel
YAY! I finally get to read more about these two guys. Excellent follow up to the first story. I love the voice of the characters and really enjoyed this. My only complaint? Too short! Would love to read more about these two and their continuing relationship, excellent read!
Meggie
I really like when Zach talks about "Officer Hotness" in this shorty. Lol it's comical when Zach uses all kinds of nicknames for Stevie. Anyway it was to short as the previous one, but good.

Just as good as the first in the series. I hope for more. For such a short story it has a lot of depth to the characters and the situations. Also there is an amazing level of hotness here to the sex scenes but there's a wonderful humour underlying everything. Great read.

Loved the first story and this one is just as sweet. Stevie and Zach are such a great couple! Hoping for more stories about these two...

Cute short m/m romance following up on "the gayest of the gay boys" Zach and "Officer Hotness". As others have mentioned, it was just too short - these two could've filled a novel. :)

The book is much to short, I would love to read more about Zach and his Officer Hotness.
When will we get the "big" book???

Fae Sutherland has always dreamed of being a published author, starting her writing career off at age 11 with a series of stories she charged her classmates a dollar to read. She has since progressed to more serious writing, though always keeping that dash of irreverence and fun (and a hell of a lot more heat!). Also, she charges just slightly more than a dollar now.

Fae is perhaps best known for h...more
