Jesus the book isn't even out yet and you guys are trashing it already. Seriously, wait at least until it comes out, read it and THEN give your opinion. Right now it's just useless and pissing all of us fans off. She's not milking this. If she really just wanted more money, she wouldn't work so hard on all of this beautiful material she's creating for US. FOR US. She doesn't have to do this, she could be working as a doctor or a lawyer and making money. And if you think those two jobs are harder ...more

Good God, I don't understand why people are complaining so much about the fact that Cassandra Clare is writing a new series. That's what authors do: write. And so what if she bases a new series in the same world as a past one? Honestly, I liked The Infernal Devices better than TMI. TDA is going to be in a new setting. The MC won't be Clary, who I have never liked that much anyway. Give Cassandra Clare a chance. I don't feel like she's "killing" the Shadowhunter world or something. She's only mak ...more

WHY THE HELL IS everyone complaining that they think Cassie's writing more books to make cash?! True, I have my own complaints about never ending series, but when you have someone as talented as Cassie, IT KIND OF MAKES SENSE FOR HER TO WRITE MORE. Especially when many fans are ASKING FOR MORE. (ex. When everybody asked for more books in TMI series.) Honestly, I'm sure Cassie has other writing projects that she does that don't involve Shadowhunters, but I'm getting sick of biased people of judgi ...more

This can't be happening again. I mean does, she really think she can present a fresh plot with this new series? Aww.

Okay, I don't write many reviews for books I've read, let alone ones I haven't, but for this I will make an exception. Everyone is digging in on this book and complaining about it already. But seriously? You are writing reviews, long reviews on how much a book that you haven't even read, that isn't even out yet and wont be for years sucks? I just want to bang my head against the wall. You write paragraph and paragraphs about how you will never read this book - well, heres a CRAZY thought - how a ...more

Let me guess: this "Julian" fellow is going to be snarky and sarcastic just like every other love interest CC has written about.

I mean, really, where do they get it from?

Sure, I LOVE when the main guy in a story is sarcastic and witty, but seriously...try something new.

And just by experience, I can already predict things that are going to happen:

1) There is going to be another love triange in which I can predict the ending FROM the first sentance.

2) CC is going to over-use certain adjective

Mrs. Clare, really? You already have 7 books about Shadowhunters (11 after City of Heavenly Fire, Clockwork Princess, The Shadowhunter's Codex, and Lady Midnight come out). Please, get a new idea. Shadowhunters wizards are hot and all but at least try to make a story that isn't based on your Harry Potter fan-fic that takes a riskier route rather than staying on the safe path. Honestly, I think it would be tiring to write about the same group of people over and ov

Cassie Clare is coming out with yet ANOTHER series :) I'm so excited!!

I am so happy that we got to meet the TDA characters in City of Heavenly Fire. I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH ALREADY.

People are getting mad and aggravated, but why judge this book so early when it hasn't even come out yet?? Relax people, save the judging for when the book comes out.

To those who judge early on:

I am so excited but a release date of FALL 2015??:

I thought Cassandra Clare was out of ideas while I was reading City of Fallen Angels.

I thought Cassandra Clare was milking the cash out of her poor readers while I was reading Clockwork Prince.

And now, looking at Lady Midnight, I can clearly tell that she thinks we are idiots.

But of course there are people out there who want to feed Clare's evil need to increase her revenue. You know why she stopped writing good stuff? Because of you guys paying loads of money to read her shitty books. Maybe if

My reaction to learning Cassie had a new book:

My reaction to learning this book was going to be a spinoff of TMI:

Why am I so conflicted???

Probably because I have a hard time with never ending series. I mean, a spinoff series isn't the worst thing in the world. Yes, people will accuse the author of being a 'cash cow' and yes they might in fact be a 'cash cow' but in the end, its the author's choice.

Personally, I hate it when authors do this, especially authors as talented as Cassie. I feel like

I love the Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices is one of my favorite YA series to date. Truly.

But, speaking of dates:

Is it just me or is the timeline in that summary completely ridiculous? "Five years after the brink-of-despair-whatever-events-on-Shadowhunters in Los Angles 2012? This Shadowhunter girl is trying to be the best thing "since" Jace Lightwood?"

Uhm... If I'm not mistaken, Jace Lightwood is still alive and kicking in 2012/"present-day-Los-Angeles".
Way alive and kickin

By all accounts, the Infernal Devices drastically undersold predictions. It was a MILLION copy first printing and sold roughly 90K in 2 weeks with sales since then tanking. Yet The Dark Artifices series sold to S&S for high SEVEN figures. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Cassandra Clare is taking home almost $10 million for the publication rights to a THIRD series in this universe. Fourth if you count the fact that three books were added on to the first series.

Well ... I will read this. But right now, I kind of have mixed feelings about the idea. On one hand, it sounds pretty cool. Also, I love The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. (Although with Mortal Instruments, I felt it probably should have stopped after three books, but ... oh well.) On the other hand, I'm getting a bit concerned that Cassandra Clare will just never write anything else. I mean, not to sound disrespectful. Yup. Not even going to try. It's not worth the headache.

Okay. I actually have mix feelings for this.

On one hand, I did enjoy the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices.

But, by doing this series I'm concerned Clare may not write something else besides the Shadowhunter world.
Don't mean to sound disrespectful, blah blah blah but, come on.
Clare I did enjoy the Shadowhunter world, but can we have something different?

Another series within the poorly constructed world of Shadowhunters, a world which obviously is borrowed from Harry Potter?

Oh. My. Goodness.

You know what I'm trying to say here, right?

I admit I'm being very negative here, but Cassandra Clare has so far given me almost nothing to be positive when it comes to her books.

Hey, so she took me up on my idea for a Magnus prologue series: The Bane Chronicles is now a series of (I think) ten ebooks that will eventually (I think) be published together in a physical copy once the whole shebang is done. You know, as a kind of monetary last Hurrah.

Super cool that she listens to her fans (or whatever it is I am) like this; still, I expect royalties. 0.5% should get me comfortably through college. If anyone has the name of a good patent/financial lawyer who c

“The cycle hit the beach and spun out. Emma went into a rolling crouch as she flew free of it, keeping her elbows in, pushing the air hard out of her lungs. She turned her head as she hit the sand, slapping her palms down to roll herself forward, absorbing the impact of the fall through her arms and shoulders, her knees folding up into her chest. The stars wheeled crazily overhead as she spun, sucking in her breath as her body slowed its rolling. She came to a stop on her back, her hair and clothes full of sand and her ears full of the sound of the wildly crashing ocean…” 22 likes
