I haven't rated the book. I will not rate the book. I will not read it, I'm not interested. If you're thinking about leaving a comment and telling me how wrong I am, don't. Thanks.

Clare needs to try something new. That's like, what.... 12 books about the Shadowhunter crap? I mean, it'd be perfectly fine if it was just one series, or at the very most two. But three different series' with the exact same concept?
Can anyone say Cash Cow? I swear, she's gonna milk that cow until it's dead. And then she'll probably get a new cow that looks like an exact replica of the old cow. And the cycle will go on and on.
And also, Lady Midnight?
LADY MIDNIGHT? WHAT KIND OF TITLE IS THAT? It'...more
UPDATE (2013): HONESTLY PEOPLE. STOP. IT. STOP HATING BEFORE THE BOOK IS EVEN OUT. REALLY. JUST STOP. It's one thing to hate AFTER the release and after you've given it a try, and it's another to hate it before =_= And SO FRIGGIN' WHAT? SHE LIKES WRITING THEM. How are you guys so sure she's only doing it for the money? IF she is, again, SO WHAT. THIS IS HER OCCUPATION. Why do most people do the jobs they do...? TO MAKE A LIVING. AND ALSO. Of course us fans are happily gonna buy them and make her...more

This is no joke: The moment I read in Clockwork Prince that parabatai are not allowed to fall in love, I just knew that Clare was going to write something about that issue. I just knew it. That either means that she's very predictable, or that I have ESP.
For God's sake, can't Cassandra Clare finish one series before starting another one?
And can't she come up with another setting than the world the Shadowhunters live in? After nine books, one would think there isn't much left to say about them....more

Let me guess: this "Julian" fellow is going to be snarky and sarcastic just like every other love interest CC has written about.
I mean, really, where do they get it from?
Sure, I LOVE when the main guy in a story is sarcastic and witty, but seriously...try something new.
And just by experience, I can already predict things that are going to happen:
1) There is going to be another love triange in which I can predict the ending FROM the first sentance.
2) CC is going to over-use certain adjective...more

Good God, I don't understand why people are complaining so much about the fact that Cassandra Clare is writing a new series. That's what authors do: write. And so what if she bases a new series in the same world as a past one? Honestly, I liked The Infernal Devices better than TMI. TDA is going to be in a new setting. The MC won't be Clary, who I have never liked that much anyway. Give Cassandra Clare a chance. I don't feel like she's "killing" the Shadowhunter world or something. She's only mak...more

Come on, woman, have mercy on all those trees, go the indi digital way at least. You'll torture your readers even more (can you imagine how painful it'd turn out if there was no one else editing it?) but at least you'll allow our offsprings earth a bit more green while filling your pockets.
Some authors really need to learn to let some sagas die gracefully instead of feeding their greedy fat pockets.

I thought Cassandra Clare was out of ideas while I was reading City of Fallen Angels.
I thought Cassandra Clare was milking the cash out of her poor readers while I was reading Clockwork Prince.
And now, looking at Lady Midnight, I can clearly tell that she thinks we are idiots.
But of course there are people out there who want to feed Clare's evil need to increase her revenue. You know why she stopped writing good stuff? Because of you guys paying loads of money to read her shitty books. Maybe if...more

Hey, so she took me up on my idea for a Magnus prologue series: The Bane Chronicles is now a series of (I think) ten ebooks that will eventually (I think) be published together in a physical copy once the whole shebang is done. You know, as a kind of monetary last Hurrah.
Super cool that she listens to her fans (or whatever it is I am) like this; still, I expect royalties. 0.5% should get me comfortably through college. If anyone has the name of a good patent/financial lawyer who c...more

This is way too much. We all know you love your plagiarized fanfiction-published series, Clare, but you need to let go already. A third series is ridiculous.
And, ahahaha.
Dear people who say that Cassandra has to have talent otherwise her franchise wouldn't have collected the millions of dollars that it has,

Jesus the book isn't even out yet and you guys are trashing it already. Seriously, wait at least until it comes out, read it and THEN give your opinion. Right now it's just useless and pissing all of us fans off. She's not milking this. If she really just wanted more money, she wouldn't work so hard on all of this beautiful material she's creating for US. FOR US. She doesn't have to do this, she could be working as a doctor or a lawyer and making money. And if you think those two jobs are harder...more

Another series within the poorly constructed world of Shadowhunters, a world which obviously is borrowed from Harry Potter?
Oh. My. Goodness.

You know what I'm trying to say here, right?
I admit I'm being very negative here, but Cassandra Clare has so far given me almost nothing to be positive when it comes to her books.

Okay. I actually have mix feelings for this.
On one hand, I do enjoy the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices.
I can't even wait for the Infernal Devices manga.
But, by doing this series I'm concerned Clare may not write something else besides the Shadowhunter world.
Don't mean to sound disrespectful, blah blah blah but, come on.
Clare I do enjoy the Shadowhunter world but can we have something different?

Guess I'll just have to wait and see. 2015 is a long way away and this book series might blow the others out of the water, no one really knows. All I'm trying to say is that while I am a fan of her books, I bet she could write something different and it be very good, but like I said, we just have to wait and see.
Now I liked the first three books, they were okay,(the fourth one... don't get me started -_-) and the Infernal Devices are a good read too, but I just don't know if I can take Cassandra...more

Update (27/03/13): I have had a change of heart since reading Clockwork Princess. I will still likely never finish TMI, but thats because the story just isnt for me. I now think Clare is not to blame, and she is still an excellent writer which she proved to me with TID. Hopefully TMI will be the exception and TDA will be more like TID. I am now really excited for this, and to see certain characters again, such as Magnus. I always liked him, but after CP2 he has become a bit of an obsession.

WHY THE HELL IS everyone complaining that they think Cassie's writing more books to make cash?! True, I have my own complaints about never ending series, but when you have someone as talented as Cassie, IT KIND OF MAKES SENSE FOR HER TO WRITE MORE. Especially when many fans are ASKING FOR MORE. (ex. When everybody asked for more books in TMI series.) Honestly, I'm sure Cassie has other writing projects that she does that don't involve Shadowhunters, but I'm getting sick of biased people of judgi...more

Yeah the first books I read by Cassandra Clare were good, but her most recent book COLS really... well sucked. “The cycle hit the beach and spun out. Emma went into a rolling crouch as she flew free of it, keeping her elbows in, pushing the air hard out of her lungs. She turned her head as she hit the sand, slapping her palms down to roll herself forward, absorbing the impact of the fall through her arms and shoulders, her knees folding up into her chest. The stars wheeled crazily overhead as she spun, sucking in her breath as her body slowed its rolling. She came to a stop on her back, her hair and clothes full of sand and her ears full of the sound of the wildly crashing ocean…”
