This may have to be my last Leah Brooke book or maybe it's just her Desire series is better.

The whole book was just one long sex feast and not for me a very good one.

There are now two words I never want to see together again and they are

"my mate", if they were not on each page at least once then they where there multiple times.

Despite like I like James but Marcus not so much
Was there supposed to be a plot to this book? It was literally just one sex scene after another.

It was fairly obvious while reading Panthers' Prey that the plot was lazily thrown together at the last minute with very little effort. At one point during the beginning of the book it's mentioned that Marcus is in his 30s, but half way through he's aged about 10 years and is the same age as the guy who was considered to be the "father" figure in his life. If Leah Brooke plans on writing a sequel to

Leah Brooke’s first venture into the paranormal did not work for me as well as her erotic romances, either contemporary or western historical. Don’t get me wrong, this is a hot book with lots of intense sex scenes, but the plot complexities and connection with the characters was not as strong as in her other books. In fact, I never thought I’d say this, but the sex actually distracted from the story.

The book also suffers from some minor editing flaws-in

One of the latest in a long string of very readable and erotic love stories from an author who keeps all her fans panting for more. This first book in a new series is about panther-shifters who have been displaced early in life when it appears that their families were massacred after the public discovered they existed. The two men who are the heroes here, Marc and James, have never really experienced a lot that would have been considered normal had they grown up with their families. Now they are ...more

I have loved or at least like a lot all the books that Ms. Brooke has published to this point. This book just didn't do anything for me. It is a great concept and most of the characters are very likable. However Marc and Bailey just rubbed me the wrong way. They are both antagonistic and belligerent. Bailey can't believe her own eyes about Marc and James being shifters. She is denies the truth over and over almost to the end of the book. She also thinks that she can handle any problem with her b ...more
When Bailey Knox is attacked she believes she is about to die, not realizing she is about to be rescued by two men. James Archer and Marcus Brand are not sure what the scent they are smelling is, until they hear a womans scream.

Both men quickly realize they have found their mate. While one is willing to claim her, the other is struggling with the card fate handed him. Bailey thinks both men are nuts as they talk about being a mate an panthers, when they set out to claim her Bailey can't deny the

I tried, I honestly did but could not suspend disbelief long enough to stay in this book.

1. I can't ever say that a man was hot enough to "make my bottom tingle". Every time that phrase came up I just shook my head.

2. If you have been nearly choked to death and survived, wouldn't you visit a doctor afterwards? Wouldn't you be still sore and slow for a week? Not our heroine -- one sexy night down and she's right as rain. No mention of all the scratches, bruises -- nope nada.

By the middle, I ju
Too much sex? Driven mad by too many orgasms? The more sex they had, the more they needed. It's no wonder Marc, James and Bailey fought it with everything they had... fought and lost. James was the first to fall, followed by Bailey, and then Marc. It wasn't enough that someone was out to kill Bailey or drive her out of business, or the constant worry about Officer Brown's snooping, they also had to fight the constant lust that was driving them together and driving them apart while fighting for c ...more

Two and a half stars.

I love Leah Brooke, however, this was almost painful to get thru. The storyline is there, but the characters were just so effing annoying. And I had a really hard time relating to Bailey. I put the book down 3 or 4 times to walk away cause while the sex was absolutely smoking hot, the dialog and chemistry was just soooo lacking between the characters...

I loved this book! I think all the characters were strong in their own ways. I really liked the tension between the three main characters. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes mate books.
Unforgettable book. I loved the characters and cant wait to read the next book in the amazing series.
