Ugh, I hate it when the cover models don't match the descriptions of the characters in the book. At first glance, the male cover model looks good, but if you really look, the guy is kind of scrawny with an oversized head! That is NOT how I pictured Collin at all! Come on, he could walk into any bar and girls would practically throw themselves at him. He was a bad boy with tattoos covering his arms (cover model does not have those either), a sexy smile and striking green eyes, who threw punches e...more

Great story even if it was too short for my liking : ( hope there is a sequel!!!

Read this after finishing the 'Honor' series, not knowing what to expect.
Now I know.
The book had potential but the plot was absent, no development characters.
I loved 'Beautiful Disaster' and I felt like I was reading the half assed rewrite. It was weird at times reading a book where everyone spoke in full sentences without a single contraction. "I would like to" "Where is the.." Ugh. The sentences ramble in awkward arrangements that forced me to re-read often.
The main group of characters go o...more

After reading Honor Student I never thought I would read another book by this author due to the problems I had with the story, but since I am curious by nature I wanted to know if Breaking Sin was as good as some people say. Meh. My main impression was the same I had with Honor Student:
Her writing lacks something; maybe she doesn’t like to be descriptive, but then how is she supposed to set a stage or to create certain atmosphere, and how will I connect to the story? Man, I couldn’t picture the...more

I had read another book by this author and decided to try out some more of her other work. This one is much more tame than 'Honor Student' by a long shot but it was worth the read. -spoiler- The story is about a college girl who wants the perfect life. She meets a boy and becomes good friends with him. They go out a lot and party. She drinks in excess and becomes much more witty and sarcastic throughout the book. He is a womanizer and not really worried about the future. Eventually the two main...more

I’m not going to go as far as saying that this is the worst book I have ever read, because it’s not. But it does come pretty close. I started out this novel (if you can even call it that) with high hopes. I ended up literally having to restrain myself from throwing my kindle at the wall by the end of it. There was a lot of potential for this book to be awesome but sadly…it sucked.

The book was SO BLOODY RUSHED . I read the ENTIRE thing in UNDER AN HOUR!!!!!!!! I felt like I picked up the book.

This book had potential, but it was way too short, there was very little character development, and the writing bugged me to no end.

First, so much of the dialogue felt stilted and awkward because the author would not use contractions to save my life. I'm reading a lot of books lately where this is becoming an issue. I realized yesterday that this isn't my first book by the author (I've also read White Trash Beautiful) and both stories have the same issue. The sentences need contractions. It mak...more

I had read another book by this author and really enjoyed it so I decided to try out another.

This book is about Sinthia a.k.a. Sin, a college student who wants the perfect life, perfect boyfriend etc. She becomes friends with a a bad girl who convinces her to go out and let lose. They do and that is where the story begins. She meets Collin, a bad boy she had seen around campus and they become great friends. Sin starts to let lose a lot more and her personality really changes through out...more

What a crappy book. It was similar to Beautiful Disaster but where Beautiful Disaster was just awesome, this book just fell flat.

Sin was boring. Collin was boring. Taylor was boring. Nothing was fleshed out, no explanation as to why Sin and Collin were suddenly best friends. They had no chemistry. There was no flirting. In Beautiful Disaster, Travis had anger issues but Collin just liked to punch people for the hell of it.

The writing was crappy too. There were hardly any contractions. It was all...more

Okay, so I have been on a Teresa Mummert reading binge this week. I just can't help myself, her books are just so addicting!! I didn't put any of her books down until I read the last page, so this means that I was up until 2-3am reading. So I am currently hyped up on caffeine and awaiting the crash lol. This is the first book in her new Sin Series (Squeeee) and I can't wait for the second one!!!

Sinthia is a college student just trying to make good grades, keep her head down, stay out of trouble...more

This was a short read. I would have loved for this story to develop further. It somewhat reminded me of beautiful disaster which everyone fell in love with ! This book had that feel for me, I wanted more!

So far everything that I have read by Teresa Mummert I have friggin' loved. She is unstoppable.

With this book it is a short, quick, passionate book about wanting someone you shouldn't have either by him being the wrong partner that Sin thinks she should have or for Colin thinking that Sin deserves better than him. Silly Collin true love always wins.

You end up falling in love with all if the characters well expect John and Sam but that is to be expected. So many times you want to yell at the bo...more

The book is short but it's very goodI wouldn't mind if it had 40 or so pages more but even with 128 pages the book was amazing.

Sinthia(or Sin as Collin calls her)is in college and meets a guy whose name is Collin.Collin isn't the kind of guy she is looking for but as the time passes they become friends(until she realises that she has more than friendly feelings for him). She starts hanging out with him and his roommates and friends and becomes their wingman. But what happens when she can't handle

I absolutely love all of Teresa Mummert's books. I haven't read all her books yet but she has yet to disappoint me. Breaking Sin was excellent! I like a good looking, possessive male character that believes himself not worthy of the love of good girl. Sinthia is looking for a good guy and when she meets womanizer Collin she knows he is not for her even if she feels the attraction for him. They become friends and she becomes his "wingman" as their friendship evolves. How long will Sinthia hold ba...more

Seriously? I "feel" the need to roll my eyes and if you read at least the first few pages of the book you'll see that author's repetitive use of this expression will do that to you.

Taylor - supposedly the best friend or Sinthya's good friend. Yeah, right! NO, thanks! The definition of friend got lost...somewhere...I guess that a nice trait couldn't fit with these characters.

Sinthya - doesn't seem to have any will of her own. She isn't likable. She's like a puppet.

Colin - is just there - trying...more

A short story that was tamer than I thought it would be. Actually, no sex was had between the two main characters. And it reminded me of another story, it was not a knockoff but definitely had some of the same elements. (I'll give you two guesses) I finished the book in one sitting, so it caught my attention. I liked Beef and Taylor grew on me.

There's a lot of typos. And the ending could have been more detailed including the epilogue. Also there was no resolution so I'm not sure where the author...more

This story was cute but also kind of drove me nuts. Here we have Sin who is immediately portrayed as so strait laced and uptight, but then all of a sudden she's drinking guys under the table and being the perfect "wingman", all the while sleeping in the same bed as Collin (who is mistakenly called Caleb at one point, or I missed something)after he does his thing. Then back to strait laced, uptight girl, dating a total sop. Then back to party girl central. I like the storyline, but I think it wou...more

Loved loved this perfect story about a bad boy meets good girl. The dynamics between the characters were supurb! I so loved how Sin was the wingman to a group of awesome fun loving guys and a witty girlfriend Taylor. I couldn't get enough of Sin and Collins friendship and the undeniable attraction/effection that they had for one another. As much as I wanted to give this 5 stars I wished it was longer and that the 5 years later gave me more more more. Ok I'm just being selfish this book was wonde...more

I actually read it in a hour on the treadmill!

If you have read Beautiful Disaster it's along the same lines as that book.
I love that book and this book as well.
Sin and Collin become Best Friends but really they are in love with each other it just takes one night for Sin to realize it and that one night changes everything.
It's a fast paced book, no hot sex scenes but really you don't need them. Teresa Mummert has never failed to keep my attention right until the end. The ending is the best when...more

This book reminds me of a movie. I liked it don't get me wrong I just think it was a little fast pased like it would be in a movie........

Quick movie like spoiler.

Like Sinthia meets guy. Guy is a bad boy. Friend convinces Sinthia to let loose. Guy is at the bar to then end up being good friends. Everything is fine until he kisses her and then pulls away saying nothing should have happened. She leaves because she thinks something is wrong with her. Then she finds a new beu boring dude.thinking...more

2.5*

Very very very VERY short = not developed enough for my taste.
The characters weren't bad but nothing groundbreaking.

This book reminded me of "Beautiful disaster" so much. Many of you might say that You liked the MCs over here more, that they weren't as mental as the ones in BD but come on. No one wants to read about average things, people like to read about extremes. And BD was in extremes and the characters were better developed. As was the story.
Sorry, but it wasn't the best read ever.

k, so I sorta liked this book...but it felt too much like a really indepth summary. It needs to be expanded another 200 words, needs a few punctuality touch-ups and some clarity added to who is saying what and why they're saying it. But those criticisms aside, it def had the flavor and base for a great story. Reminded me strongly of Beautiful Disaster, without any backstory or deep characterization. Glad to have read it, but looking for better things from this author...Certainly willing to try a...more

For being a short read, I found this one rather enjoyable. I do wish it was a bit longer, but only because I felt that some parts of the story could have been elaborated on just a little more. One thing I can say is that this book reminded me of Beautiful Disaster. Not in the “OMG – this book ripped off the other books story line” kind of way, but in a good way. There were some things that reminded me of BD and some parts in the story that just...more

Personally I didn't like the story. The book had potential but the plot was absent, no development characters.
The hero/ heroine never together as a couple. I don't know how they fell in love since the supposed hero was too *happily* busy making out with the girls the supposed heroine helped him to pick up.
Then I have to believe he fell for her at first sight and that she had a change of heart at some point. Not believable at all.
If he was in love why didn't he try to fight for her once?

Huh, well not that I am expecting anything big after the Honor Student but i really liked the expert on this one and its just freaking cool that I was really looking forward to reading it XD. I got it around my head that the heroine in Mummert's books is a really conflicting person to figure. But I kind get the angst that comes from Synthia/Sinthia I cant really be sure what is the right spelling specially the copy was a suck to the e-books XD. Looking forward to the next book.

I discovered the author with the honor serie and really wanted to continue to read her other works.
Breaking sin was a good one. I read it in one night! But it went way too fast at the end. We waited for their happy ending so much that I was disapointed to see it was just dispatched. It left me a litle frustrated.
Of course, I'll read the next one because I liked the story a lot!

I loved the book.. The only thing I would have wanted it to see there relationship drawn out more.. I wanted to see them together and in love... Don't get me wrong the ending was perfect!!!! I love when books have a HEA!!!!! I can't wait to read the sequel I just wonder what it's going to be about since the end was five years in the future but I am sure it will be amazing....

I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends m...more
