Veronica Blade is, hands down, one of the Queens of Sensually Sweet YA Romance. What does that mean? Ms. Blade has an enormous talent for weaving tales of innocent romance that is clean, sweet and not at all offensive in any way, shape or form. On the flip side, the way she creates the scenes and chemistry between her characters never fails to raise goosebumps of yearning upon my skin and make my heart ache at the beauty of great love.

This was a fun, lighthearted, love and Hollywood adventure story. It surprised me how quickly I finished it, but reading on the kindle makes it hard to judge how long a book is when you first start it. I enjoyed how smoothly it was written and the fun situation of the twins changing places in a Cinderella type story, without the sister being wicked. Another dazzling hit by Veronica Blade! I devoured this book in one evening, captured by the story line of twins that are so different from one another, but that are devoted enough to run at a moments notice to help the other out.

Maddie is a small town goodie two shoes, whose happy with her life. But her life is suddenly turned upside down when Jackie is in a crisis, as paparazzi are constantly hounding Jackie, and she needs to escape. Jackie convinces her twin to switch places with her.
Almost as soon as Maddie switches places, Maddie is immediately thrust into the movie star world, as she walks the red carpet, chats with famous celebs, especially the yummy Dallas Bines, who happens to be Jackie's ex.
But when fate brings Maddie and Dallas together time and time again, Maddie finds it rather hard to keep her secret that she is not who Dallas thinks she is. And as the two continue to see each other, the paparazzi throw them into an even wilder twist. Can Maddie survive in Jackie's world long enough for Jackie to find herself, and can Maddie control her emotions when it comes to Dallas?

A very cute fast paced, orifinal read. I enjoyed reading all about the characters. I completely fell in love with Maddie, and it was so entertaining to read what she had to go through. Maddie isn't always sure of herself, but always tries to stay true and loyal to those she cares about.
I loved her relationship with Dallas, and the two had great chemistry. The two are immediately pushed into the media world, and the stories get crazier and crazier. It was interesting to read how the media spins certain stories, and how the celebrity side of things can get out of hand.
I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't much of a relationship build up between the two sisters, Jackie and Maddie. It would have been more interesting if the readers were able to read more about the differences and similarities between the two twins. The story itself was a bit short, but I was pretty satisfied with how things turned out. In general, a great, fun, cute read, and I wouldn't mind reading a continuance with this story.

Enjoying a laid-back country life before she starts college, Maddie isn’t prepared to take on the Hollywood glitz and glamour, including Jackie’s ex, the gorgeous Dallas who happens to live across the hall. She gets a sort-of crash course from Jackie’s assistant but for the most part it’s Dallas and his rekindled interest in “Jackie” that eases her way through things. Maddie is warned not to get too involved with him – even while she’s losing her heart to him, she knows Jackie doesn’t want him and when she comes back, she’ll end “their” relationship.

Okay, so no, this isn’t the most original idea that’s ever been written and yes, the idea of twins being that identical and able to pull a switch this big off really takes a stretch of the imagination. But. This was still cute and sweet in its own way and I really didn’t care about those things. There wasn’t enough of Jackie in the story that I had to think about the switch much.

I loved that the story was told from Maddie’s POV, since it kept the story clean of any of Dallas’ pre-conceptions about Jackie and their relationship history. He got to be cutely befuddled and was adorably romantic – and sexy in a PG sort of way. Maddie is very torn about what to do with Dallas. She’s definitely a nice girl, one who makes a promise and sticks to it, but if there were anyone she’d be tempted to break it for, it’d be Dallas. I can’t say that I liked the way she was hot and cold with him – I may have intellectually understood it but it was a little cruel.

This is undeniably fluffy, sweet and clean – a little bit of a palate cleanser. The characters are all beautiful, famous and nice and the plot is rather simple and depends more on the characters and the romance to carry it along. The good thing is, the romance between Dallas and Maggie is slow and sweet, has moments that are so sappy that they’re borderline freaking adorable and there’s an ending for everyone you’d expect in a Hollywood romance. It was exactly what I needed and put a smile on my face.(less)

Tapi meskipun endingnya udah bisa ketebak dari awal ternyata buku ini mampu memukau saya, membuat saya bertahan memelototi layar komputer. Mungkin karena ceritanya mengalir dengan manis dan wajar. Tokoh-tokohnya juga "loveable" sekalipun Jackie. Sayangnya nge-swingnya agak nanggung, seharusnya sedikit lagi bisa lebih klimaks nih *uopo to iki?* Eh itu lho maksudnya kan pas baca buku ini perasaan saya ikut terhanyut apalagi saat Dallas merasa udah dapet angin eh tau-tau dihempaskan ke Bumi, itu kurang ditarik ulur sedikit lagi gitu *halah malah tambah bingung yo?* Ya pokoknya begitulah :D

Sebuah pelajaran berharga yg saya dapat dari Jackie adalah, lari dari masalah tidak akan pernah menyelesaikan masalah itu sendiri. Hanya menjauhkannya dari indra kita untuk beberapa saat. Hadapilah, ambil hikmahnya dan kau akan menjadi lebih kuat dan tegar.

This is my first read from Veronica Blade and will not be my last! I always like the idea of twins switching places and Ms. Blade did an exceptional job with this story. This novel is a one shot really fast to read and fresh. Once again, Veronica Blade wins me over with her writing style so fluid and alive and her characters so easy to picture.

I have to thank the author who gave me a free e-copy of this novel.

One thing that I've got usually a hard time with is insta-love. Curiously, the chemistry between Maddie and Dallas works perfectly here. It's like it's believable between these two in this Hollywood atm...more

From the start of the novella where readers get to watch as the superstar Jackie Bloom begs her twin sister (and our main character) Maddie to pretend to be her for just a little while—I was hooked! Not only does author Veronica Blade create another highly detailed world where readers are able to pick out and create every single detail in their mind, but because of the theme and setting of the novella it felt like I was reading a romantic chick flick in the format of a book!

Not to mention that throughout reading From Fame to Shame I was able to imagine just what our real world celebrities actually go through. From the red carpet premier to the tabloids spreading rumors, Maddie had huge shoes to fill and not to mention that her celeb sister’s ex-boyfriend is falling for her. Talk about the perfect mixture of drama. Since I have brought up the ex-boyfriend factor, I think that being the good person I am that I have to tell you about Dallas. He is just… perfect (I personally imagined him as Chase Crawford). Not only is he written as perfect boyfriend material, but he’s described as the perfect guy. With the perfect body and the sexiest personality, he is my official fictional celebrity boyfriend (and the first).

I would recommend this novella to somebody who wants to experience the life of a celebrity for the day, or fans of the glitz and glam of Hollywood. An amazing quick read that I won’t soon forget.(less)

I loved the sarcasm and the romance! It really heated up with Maddie (disguised as Jackie) and Dallas. The most steamy story yet! Reminded me a lot of The Lying Game, but in a good way. I liked the whole switching it up twin thing. Not to mention the happy ending that followed :) I'm glad Jackie didn't live up to the selfish person I thought her to be. That would have rained on Maddie's parade. Yay for happy endings! :)

I have a huge issue with this book!
It is far too addictive. I stayed up until 3 in the morning just to finish it because it had some kind of addictive quality that compelled me to continue reading until the very end!
Agh!
Other than that I have no complaints about the book whatsoever. It’s not the kind of book that you can go into expecting it to be this amazing piece of literary genius; it’s the kind of book you pick up for some light-hearted fun and good times.

This book is short and sweet, luckily because I was not going to sleep until I had finished reading it. The story follows the life of a twin that swaps places to give her sister a break from the Hollywood limelight. I absolutely loved this book!! I was already a huge fan of Veronica's books to begin with, but this book topped them all! The pacing was perfect, the characters were likable and relatable, and the story was fun and romantic. It's a novella, so it's not really long, and I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I don't read a lot of contemporary romance, so that's saying a lot!

From Fame to Shame by Veronica Blade was a quick read with a fun premise and an adorable romance. I flew through it at lightning speed. It was a good read to just take my mind off of things.

From Fame to Shame is only a short book so I will admit I was unsure about if it would be long enough for me to get into. This worry quickly evaporated because I straight away liked the main character, Maddie.

Veronica has created some great characters with different personalities. I liked seeing how different Maddie and Jackie were although they are twins. I mostly disliked Jackie but I did warm to Maddie, she was a great main character. Dallas is a sweet guy, I wouldn’t...more

Two weeks before the start of the story Maddie graduated high school. She goes to visit her movie star twin sister, who left home at 16, in Hollywood. Jackie is stressed about the spotlight consequences and needs a break and needs Maddie to pose as her. I love stories about 'regular' teens finding themselves in the spotlight.
