It’s what they don’t know about each other, the assumptions they have and the revelations that truly push this plot along at a good clip.

Livi’s brothers are a hoot and act as catalysts for some very serious conflicts. They also let loose a hint or two about what Ms. Dare has in store for readers in the future. It wasn’t a huge neon sign moment, but a casual comment during a conversation. It has me excited because what I caught has set the wheels of possibility turning in my brain. I wonder if other readers caught it too. If so, I think it’s a grand idea.

I liked Livi’s character. It was a nice switch and refreshing to explore what would happen if an Englishman met an American woman and both just happened to be a part of the wolf culture. I enjoyed the dynamic of a man living in a society who has no idea his kind exists versus a woman who comes from a place that seems to have allowed her a freedom the English wolves can only dream of. Grayson trying to rein Livi in was fun reading.

Watching Grayson fall in love was quite entertaining. I liked him as a hero, a man and a lover for Livi. I also felt his close relationship with his brothers and his adversarial relationship with his tutor and Dash, his pack leader, provided a depth of character that made him an easy man to fall in love with. His sense of humor was sweet too, but it was his determination to win Livi’s hand and the lengths he went through to obtain it that gave him the greatest romance hero appeal.

As with most books written by Ms. Dare, readers can expect some nail-biting action, light but intense drama and a sense of justified triumph when Grayson and Livi emerge from all their adventures as a couple with an amazing future ahead of them. There’s never a dull moment and the characters that populate this novel are lively, full of great dialogue and make awesome contributions to the plot conflict.

Another thing for readers to look forward to are the stolen moments when the hero and heroine get to explore their attraction in steamy ways. In past books by Ms. Dare, those scenes usually are well written and entertaining and that is true in this book as well.

Wolfishly Yours is wonderful romance peppered with moments of pure fun, daring do and grand gestures that will engage and satisfy readers that require solid happily ever afters. This book delivers.

Liviana Mayeux, a native to New Orleans, is familiar with wolves. Her father and two brothers are Lycan and howl at the full moon every month. She just never thought she would end up falling for her very own furry wolf. When she is sent to England by her father's command, she is determined to find a way back home.

Livi's father regrets not raising his only daughter properly-more as a lady and not the outspoken woman she is today. So she is shipped overseas to England, where her grandfather is determined to not only transform her into a respectable lady, but to marry her off to one of the ton-a proper British nobleman.

The Hadley brothers are far from proper and respectable. In fact, lady Sophia is in charge of these ruffians with the hope of taming their boorish ways. A task that she finds almost impossible, especially when it comes to Archer.

Lady Hadley, Grayson's mother, is put in charge of introducing Miss Livi to society and all good intentions fall to the wayside. Grayson knows he is not the best match for Livi Mayeux, especially if she desires to be a respectable lady. But his efforts to put Livi in the best light turn out to mar her reputation. Now he is left with no choice but to propose marriage--at the strong urging of his half-brother Dash.

What I find overall appealing about this story is the humorous dialogue between the brothers and how Gray stumbles his way around the heroine, Livi. His good intentions always seem to meet with a blundering mishap, which causes quite a stir in society.

But what I found lacking was the strong spark that usually is present in Dare's books. Gray and Livi's connection was only luke-warm at best and there were no real surprises in the story.

Overall, Wolfishly Yours is a sweet, charming installment to the Westfield Wolves and fans of Dare will be at least satisfied that there is more to come. (less)

Wolfishly Yours is the 5th book in the Westerfeld Wolves series, and is a fun frolic back into the historical paranormal world created by the writing duo of Lydia Dare. I’m happy to say we get to meet again with wolves and wives from previous books, although it’s okay if you haven’t read any of the previous books in the series.

I really enjoyed these two socially awkward characters doing their best to follow the rules of society and bumbling through with only partial success. Livi is sweet and I felt badly for her situation, coming across the ocean to a strange place where she didn’t know anyone. When her brothers showed up later in the book, I really enjoyed them too – I’ll admit to a great curiosity about the New Orleans Lycans – they seem to be naughty, naughty boys *winks*. And Gray – oh poor Gray! He’s got no income to speak of, he’s a bit of a rake, and against his will he falls for this sweet American who knows what he is. He wants to be with her but doesn’t feel worthy and makes quite a mess of things, more than once!

I find that sometimes secondary characters can make or break a book, and in the case of Wolfishly Yours it’s definitely a ‘make’! I liked Lady Sophie, the woman who is teaching Livi and the Hadley brothers to fit in society, and her antagonistic relationship with Archer is very interesting. As mentioned above, Livi’s brothers are both entertaining and enjoy causing trouble for Gray.

Here’s my only real complaint: Livi and Gray didn’t have the usual ‘spark’ that I’ve come to expect from a Lydia Dare book. They seemed to like each other well enough but weren’t really wild about each other until near the very end of the book, and even then it didn’t feel like the paranormal ‘mate bond’ that assures me they will be together and passionately in love forever. Don’t get me wrong, they get their HEA, and I think they’ll be together forever, but it’s a bit more tame than I’m used to from this series.

It looks like Gray’s brother Archer might be the hero in the next book – I enjoyed the back-and-forth between Archer and Lady Sophia and definitely there’s a history (and tension) between them that is begging to be explored. Also, it looks like the author is setting up for some future books to possibly take place in New Orleans *fingers crossed*! Since I live in NOLA, I have a soft spot for books set here and am looking forward to that possibility…

Recommendations:
One of the things I love about these books is that they appeal to fans of historical romance and fans of paranormal romance – it’s the best of both worlds!!(less)

This was an ARC book that I received for review. What an amazing book. I was familiar with the Hadley family through previous Lydia Dare books. Livi is a wild hoyden from New Orleans by her father to be turned into a proper English lady by her grandfather who is an Earl. Grayson Hadley is a dog.. ok he's a wolf but he has the manners of a, well you get the picture. He is a rogue and a rake, an impoverished younger brother and a man with no couth.. In frustration his oldest brother the Alpha of the pack, has hired a Lady to give Grayson and his three brothers comportment lessons. To teach them how to get on in society. Yeah, not working out so well..

Liviana Mayeux is a wild child, the only daughter of a French American from New Orleans and the daughter of an Earl. She has been allowed to run wild until an obnoxious condescending overbearing priest convinces her father that she needs to learn how to be a lady and he sends her off to her Grandfather. A Grandfather that hates her father and resents the fact that his only child left him for a "Frenchman". He shows his resentment by demanding Livi become a perfect lady.. *rolls eyes* To that end he calls upon his daughter's best friend to help. She and her companion and sons set out to help launch Livi.

Only problem is, Livi has no desire to change, the two sons are rogues of the first order and poor Lady Sophie can not create miracles. I enjoyed this book because Livi and Gray were not typical anything. As wild as the Hadley Brothers are, Livi calls them tame.. her brothers are just that much worse. While Livi is on her path to secure a husband, others conspire against her. Rocked by scandal, Livi and Gray are forced to marry and yet even when it's what they both want obstacles practically leap out at them. I am completely enjoying Lydia Dare's wit and unique way of writing. It's fun to see Lycan's in Regency England.. I mean seriously a Proper Wolf? Isn't that an Oxymoron?

What a delightfully fun historical romance with Lycan twist. I was immediately sucked into the world Lydia Dare has created and fell in love with it. The characters were diverse and watching them interact was at sometimes amusing, at other times like watching a train wreck, and at yet other times, HOT. I don't read many paranormal historical romances. I read paranormal romances and I read historical romances. For some reason, it never occurred to me to find a book that was a mix. So, Wolfishly Yours was a bit of an experiment for me. But I am oh so glad I went for it.

Livi was a wonderful heroine. She is unconventional, to say the least. After being raised with werewolf brothers, she's not exactly the perfect lady. Her mishaps is society were hilarious. She's also very strong, another part of being raised with werewolves. When she set her mind to something, there was no convincing her out of it. That did bite her in the butt, later on. Usually she's smart, but she made a rather stupid decision and her tenacity refused to let anyone convince her otherwise. That decision is the one part of the book I didn't like. Yes, she's impulsive and stubborn, but this particular instance was over the top.

But, otherwise, Livi was a lovely character. I was quite fond of her.

Grayson was just amazing. He was so endearing, it didn't take longer than a few pages for me to adore him. He's just so adorable. His antics, especially with his brothers, made me laugh quite a few times. And he was so sweet to Livi. He starts falling for her immediately and the way he acted with her was so sweet. Their relationship was perfect. Sweet with a mix of some spicy. They were just perfect together. But, damn, I wish I could find myself a sweet, gentleman of a werewolf. If only ;)

Livi's brothers were hilarious. They don't show up until later on in the book, but I adored them. Despite their smaller roles, they tended to be scene stealers. The other characters were all well-drawn out.

The plot was well-done. Fast paced, it kept me interested the whole time. The ending was lovely. It left me with a smile on my face.

Wolfishly Yours is a lovely book. I adored it. To any romance lover, this book will be a delight.

Grayson Hadley cannot believe Liviana Mayeux, she is a hoyden. She talks about wolves in public, she says things women never mention and drives him crazy. She causes him to do things he knows one would never do in polite society and she is the only one who would accuse him of being tame.

This is the latest in a series about werewolves written by the writing team calling themselves Lydia Dare. Earlier books included witches and vampires before the werewolves. Awesome! :) This was my first time reading any Lydia Dare books and it was really good. I wasn't disappointed at all. I won an uncorrected advance copy of this book and at first I was a bit confused because I wasn't used to reading a book that had grammatical errors and misused wordings. However, once I got over that it was actually quite fun!

Livi is a free spirited, open and considered unladylike woman that has no choice but to travel to her grandfathers home to ‘learn’ how to be a proper lady. She did not chose this, he father did so for her. Hurt, feeling alone, abandoned and out of place; she takes it all in stride the best she can. I really LOVE her character and feel she grows as the book goes on. She begins to listen more to advice (instead of brushing it off right away), takes more time to consider her actions and opens her eyes to new things. I believe all of this happens most when she realizes the effect having met Gray has on her :)

Gray is a strappingly handsome lycan male that (sadly) has been labeled as below (or beneath) the ton. Labels are barely (if ever) removed from ones person once they have them. Working on his manners and trying (not very willingly I must add) to become the gentlemen all expect of him proves most difficult, but at least he’s not to endure it on his own. One of his brother’s is also stuck with the lessons. One day when he and his brother escort his mother to a requested residence, he meets the most tempting creature he’s ever laid his eyes on. So beautiful, bold and all together tempting to him. But alas, they are of different levels, different places and it’s not proper for one such as him to even consider a Lady such as Livi. Will he let what should be stop what is?

Together Gray and Livi make jaws drop and shock the unshockable in and out of the ton. It’s a bit of a roller coaster ride and you will feel a great sense of anticipation for all moments that Livi and Gray are together, even when they are apart actually, in trouble and out of it. Their banter and refusal is most entertaining but what gets me the most is what ends up in the end. No one can stop what’s meant to be. No matter how hard one (or many) may try.

Any historical or paranormal reader will enjoy reading Wolfishly Yours. (less)

She does her best to plot and scheme to get away from her overbearing grandfather who's bound and determined to find her a respectable English husband, but all of her ideas never seem to pan out. She begins to think that there can't be anything interesting in England until she meets Grayson Hadley, whom she quickly becomes smitten with. But will Grayson return her interest, or will she end up bowing to her Grandfather's will to marry a respectable member of the ton?

I love, love, love Lydia Dare's work, and her Westfield Wolves Series has been excellent reading so far! If you've yet to read Dare's work, then you're totally missing out. Go pick up copies of all of their books today! Every book provides a humorous, unique love story that is unforgettable and I promise you their totally worth the splurge. Wolfishly Yours just left me drooling for the third book in the series and it's going to absolutely kill me to wait for it. Five star toast all the way, and I hope you read on to see this extremely amusing American heroine blurt out entirely horrid swear words in French at what could only be described as the worst times to do it.(less)

Livi is an endearing Tomboy with little to no control over what comes out of her mouth. One cannot help sympathizing with a heroine whose social awkwardness and longing for home make it difficult for her to acclimate to Regency society. Grayson is a sexy beta wolf with a tendency to find himself in scandalous and often hazardous situations. So, when these two come together - sparks fly.

It's both exciting and a little sad to see them each get their own book as I've really enjoyed their bickering, fist fights and them annoying the life out of their older, half-brother, Dash.

In just a matter of a few pages, Liviana, or Livi as her loved ones call her, had me smiling and adoring her. Especially when she engaged in a rather sarcastic conversation with Grayson Hadley mere minutes after meeting him in her grandfather's home!

Up until now, the heroines of Lydia Dare's series have either been witches or unsuspecting mortal women. Livi is neither and I loved her for it! The first thought in my mind after the above scene was "Finally! A woman who just might be able to go toe to toe with a Hadley and give him a taste of his own medicine!"

Because Livi already knows about the Lycan world, Wolfishly Yours focuses more on the relationship between her and Gray rather than keeping his secret hidden from her. Her brothers are Lycan as well and though Livi may not shift into a wolf, it doesn't mean she isn't a little rugged and wild herself. She manages to actually fluster the normally chatty and flirtatious Gray and I thoroughly enjoyed that. It's about time someone gave one of those Hadley brothers a hard time.

And though I am excited and sad to read Archer's story next, I think that Livi's brothers, Armand and Etienne just might be equally entertaining and more wild than the Hadleys.

The only problem I had with Wolfishly Yours is that there's no wolf. At all. Gray never shifts into his wolf form and I have come to look forward to the wolf scenes. I would have loved to have had a scene with Livi and Gray in his wolf form.

Overall, Wolfishly Yours still doesn't beat Taming of the Wolf as my favorite, but it is a very close second. I am definitely adding this book to my wishlist!(less)

Liviana Mayeux has travel from Louisiana to London to live with her Grandfather - whose job it is to try and turn Livi into a Lady. Liviana is appalled with her surroundings and is planning to escape back to her Louisiana as soon as she can. But then she meets the handsome Lycan Grayson Hadley. I love Lydia Dare's writing. It's quick with a touch of humor and a over all great love story . In Wolfishly Yours Grayson Hadley gets his book and his sassy bride.

To my wonder and delight, we are introduced to newcomer, American Liviana (Livi) Mayeux. She is shipped, against her choice, to live with the maternal grandfather she’s never met. Livi looks for every opportunity to steal her way back home to New Orleans to reunite with her Lycan brothers and father.

Upon arriving at her grandfather’s, Livi is immediately deemed unfit for the ton and requires schooling in the arts of society. Grayson’s mother, a friend of Livi’s deceased mother, is recruited to help “make Livi into a lady.” Forced to accompany his mother, Grayson is immediately struck by Livi’s beauty and her lack of lady-like charm. Soon the whole gang, including many characters from the previous books, are headed to Bath for some socialization.

I was taken with Livi immediately! She is feisty, challenging, and something that Grayson is unsure how to handle. Upon first meeting, Livi recognizes that Gray is a Lycan from his birthmark and proceeds to tell him how she has a similar mark on her thigh! I love how she makes Gray all tongue-tied. It’s an amusing and refreshing change of pace that Livi is from a Lycan family and recognizes what Gray is immediately.

Gray and Livi are a romantically beautiful pair. They are both so uncertain what to do with the other. Their feelings overwhelm them each. One of my favorite scenes was a private moment between the two, while Gray teaches Livi to dance. The interaction is sublimely wonderful and touching. My heart was racing along side Livi’s heart. She took a chance and opened up, something uncommon in many historical romances. I'm thankful that Gray didn't just blow her off. He made it clear he wants her, but they can't go that route. I ached for them both... Stuck in a society with rules with which they aren't meant to conform.

One of the other things I enjoyed in Wolfishly Yours is the banter between the brothers Hadley, Livi and Sophie. We were introduced to Sophie in the previous story, and she is a clear match for the eldest Hadley brother, Archer. The group on whole is witty and smart; their play on words and jabs are such fun. I love the brash improperness of the dialogue!

Of course, not everything goes smoothy, and things begin to look bleak for our couple. First, Gray just can’t do anything right to save his life. He is falling for Livi, but thinks he cannot court her (well, her grandfather did say to stay away). He makes so many problems for himself, including telling Livi he is being forced to marry her, when that really isn’t the truth of his heart.

To further the problems, continual misunderstandings cause for a complete breakdown in communications. I will admit that I was extremely frustrated at a couple points, and I was worried that I would get too annoyed to read. Thankfully, much to my surprise, the entire situation was handled quite well and was actually fairly riveting. Although much of the finale set up felt a bit contrived, the pieces fell into place, and I was extremely satisfied.

In the end, Wolfishly Yours was a very enjoyable read, and probably my favorite of the series to date. The shifter aspect was more pronounced in this book than the last, but the story is primarily a historical over paranormal romance. The pace was quick, action keeping the story progressing forward. Characters, both new and old, were fun. I really loved the "Moonlighting-esque" banter and that Livi isn't a proper English woman. I feel all of these features gave new life to this regency series. Finally, the romance was sweet and appropriate for period piece. Overall a wonderful addition to Ms. Dare’s long-running crossover series.(less)

Miss Liviana Mayeux is quite the little minx. It doesn't take our heroine long before she courts trouble with a runaway tongue and willful mind of her own.

Grayson Hadley of the trouble Hadley brothers that we have met in a previous book is such a sweet little pup when he wants to be. Unfortunately for him, Gray seems to attract trouble like flies to honey. Being tutored to be a gentleman and a reformed one at that is not as easy as one would think and gracious not so easy when you throw in a luscious female of Lycan breeding that will make Gray wish he were any place but where she is.

Our storyline is evenly paced and full of chuckles. Passions flow like the high tide leaving us breathless with anticipation for what will happen next. Fate is a fickle thing and even the most daring of us should give Lady Fate much respect and a wide berth.

We have a comical cast here with Livi being wild and care free, Lady Sophia who is ram rod stiff in culture, Grayson Hadley who is just far to gullible, Archer Hadley who is a thick headed scoundrel, Livi's grandfather who is the epitome of a crotchety old man and of course Gray and Archer's mother who is bound and determined to make sure Livi is the belle of the ball and spoken for before the end of her first season in London. The rest of the Hadley family comes in later in the book to add the extra zest that we all know of and expect with relish.

A quick, light romance that is sure to twist your panties in a wad and make you giggle like a school girl while cringing at the sure to come consequences of foolish behavior.(less)

Liviana was the best part about reading this book. I want to visit New Orleans so badly, and that is home for her. She loves her brothers and her father and is counting down the days until she can return home to them. She is a free spirit and not to mention very spunky! Let me just put it this way, no one tells her what to do and gets away with it. When she is shipped off to stay with her grandfather for awhile she is not at all happy with her situation. She is going to be trained, by Lady Sophia, on the proper etiquette of an English lady. I loved reading Livi’s character and I honestly felt like we were close friends. She was spontaneous and one of those characters that finds trouble around every corner. She kept the flow and pace of the book alive!

Grayson Hadley…be still my beating heart! He was rugged and rough around his hairy edges :) I loved the fact that he was a Lycan, and I also loved how Livi called him out on that fact every chance that she got. She loved to shake him up and was constantly crawling under his skin. Gray and Livi had a lot of similarities and this doesn’t always happen with leading female and male roles. Usually authors tend to write the pair as complete opposites. Here it worked for them to have similar characteristics. I really enjoyed following their relationship because I knew that Lycanthropy connected them. One of my favorite parts was when they are sharing their “bite” marks. Livi’s is on the inside of her thigh and Gray’s reaction to this tidbit of knowledge is priceless!

So I adore Lydia Dare books, they are fun light reads that always warm your heart. The paranormal aspect in this book is so light that even those who do not enjoy paranormal would not be fazed. I think lovers of paranormal as well as historical romance will love this books and series.

From the minute Gray laid eyes on Livi he was entranced by her, not just by her beauty but by her brash and straight forward manner. However, he knew that she in in England maybe not by choice but her fate is sealed, to find a rich, respected member of the Ton. Gray knows he is neither and that he should stay far far from this ravishing beauty but against his will he keeps gravitating towards her and keeps on fumbling. Gray is such a sweetheart and watching him just epically fail is quite entertaining. Even though he just fails at every turn you just can’t help but love him anyway, he has a certain charm about him that just sucks you in. Maybe it’s his easy smile or even as he’s knocked down he perseveres anyway. He is nothing if not determined. What I love the most about him is he adores Livi just the way she is, he has no desire to change her and thinks she’s the perfect “Lady” just as she is. But even if he does manage to win his lady, what would he do with her?

I loved Liviana! She is brash, speaks her mind and knows what she wants! And what she wants is to go home! Livi was sent to England by way of Louisiana by her father to be made into a lady. She wants nothing to do with being a “lady”. She liked her life running wild in the bayou’s with her Lycan brothers. So far the only good thing she has found about England is Gray. She is drawn to Gray more than any other person but he’s not “respectable” and definitely not a good match! Every move that Livi makes ends up being a disaster and affects her respectability on the marriage mart. She is on the very edge of being ruined and sent to a convent. Just when she has decided to throw everything behind being a lady she is yet again fuel for the gossip fire. Livi certainly handles impending disgrace fairly well. Lol If it hadn’t been the threat of a convent she probably wouldn’t have cared a whit what society thought of her. She can definitely hold her own again the disrespectable Hadley brothers; she can even match them disgrace to disgrace. Livi is fun and sassy and doesn’t take anything from any of the rambunctious males in her life. I love Livi and Grey together; they certainly make waves through England’s Ton.
