While occasionally bogging me down in geopolitical detail, the author offers some excellent background and reasons that Congress really does need to act decisively and soon as American power around the world continues its slow decline. In his prescriptions I think he misses a critically important piece: that peeps need to start informing themselves, supporting, and voting for peeps who are committed to serving their country, not an extreme base. A disturbing especially for those who haven't been following the mess in Washington. I especially recommend this book for highschool seniors and college freshmen who are not up on their current affairs and who do not want to wade through the noise of political talk shows, policy journals or editorials.
