Fracture, this book has taken me away from reality in so many ways. I got to know Kristina and feel her close to me. A strong, independent young girl who has to face one of life worst situations and deal with it. Then she finds out half her life hasn't been as honest as she'd grown up believing, there were things about herself that she didn't know. After that, she meets life, her past, her future, love, part of her family. She discovers she isn't just a small town girl with some dreams and a hap ...more

This story begins in another world where Tegrin is awaiting his concubine, Natiana, she is his only one while other members of his Lion Clan had several. At first he thinks that she is playing a game with him but he soon is informed by his king, King Yorandt that she has found the portal or fracture to our world and she has gone thru. This portal has been a secrete to all except King Yorandt and the Lion Clan who are fierce warriors and are the Guardians of this world. They keep the pea

It is too easy nowadays to fall into story after story that is in no way original. Too many times I find myself relating or comparing a book to another or a movie. Fracture doesn't do that at all. Ms. McKevitt brings forth not only a completely enticing and fascinating world but characters from this world that on their own dazzle my imagination.

The plots and subplots bring a depth to the entire novel that is also refreshing and well deserved. The Couton women are part of my want to immerse mysel
I really liked this book. I normally don't like books that have the concept that there are other planets than us really depresses me and makes me freak out but hey, I'm just weird that way. I thought it was really great and I like how Virginia McKevitt made one of the main characters, Kiristina, a strong, confident, brave character. I'm glad that Kristina was not one of those wilting violets that some people write as the female lead that ALWAYS needs to be saved. But no, she was strong and portr ...more

OMG I honestly could not stop reading this book. Talk about being left in the dark. She clearly knew her future but was always told it was her imagination getting carried away. :) FYI I so was waiting for steamy parts in this book but sadly this seems to not be that much of an 18+ read :( dang it, oh well :) This story of another world meeting our world will knock your socks off. It has action, love, fantasy and twist and turns that will keep you waiting and yearning to learn more. :) Awesome bo ...more

Fracture by Virginia McKevitt is one of the best books I have read this year. I love the characters. The plot is unique and very easy to follow. She is so descriptive in the scenes, that it is easy to imagine myself in both worlds. I love that Kristina is beautiful, loving, AND a warrior. I cannot wait until book II. I am addicted to this series.
when you pick this book up you will not want to put it down. it will keep your attention from the begin to end. i love this book.
Strange things begin to happen in one small town. Almost everybody in the town has headaches and dreams the same dreams. Some people have been killed. The parents of Kristine were killed, she is missing or her friends think that.
The fracture between two worlds is open!
Every page from this book is full of action and adventure, mystery and fantasy.

Fracture: A Shadow World of Fantasy and Magic

Rating: 4 of 5
Author: Virginia McKevitt
Format: Kindle, Paperback

Only after her mother and step-father's brutal murders and her subsequent encounter with a lion-esque man named Tegrin, does Kristina realize that her visions of a shadow world are more than just visions; they are a window across the fracture joining Earth and Patwain. She learns from Tegrin of the evil that has crossed to Earth - The Couton - a beautifully angelic race gifted withe abili

I was a little worried when I first started this book but it picked up quite a bit around page 30 or so. This book was paranormal, magical, with a little romance and mystery thrown in. I was a little confused keeping that characters from the hero, Tegrin's, world straight mostly because he was out of that world and in ours for half the book. But once he went back to his world everything came together nicely. I liked how the two worlds were so similar in effect that the other world had perfume an ...more

The first book in the Secret Enemy Saga, Fracture, is a satisfying and enjoyable sci-fi/fantasy novel. Virginia McKevitt develops an intricate universe where parallel worlds are connected by a fracture. One world is the modern world as we know it, where technology reigns, and the other world is filled with kings, clans, and magic. To go along with these separate worlds, McKevitt creates original beings who live in the magic world, especially cre
This book is one of the best fantasy I have read this summer. It has very unique characters and a world depicted so well you feel you know the place.
There is a fracture that connects another world with ours. One who has castles, kings, magic, and warriors. One such warrior, probably the best and most feared ever is Tegrin. Nothing will stop him from eliminating the dangerous couton women who are addicted to stealing memories.

In our world we have Kristina, a 19 year old whose parents have been ki

A brilliant concept intertwined with a very well-written story! One world has magic, one world has technology. Should they try to combine there is a chance that both will perish. But what happens when someone from one falls in love with someone from the other?

This is the tale of what happens when one world tries to cross over to the other and the people who are trying to stop this from happening. There are noble kings, honourable assasins, seers, traitors, inner evil that is wrapped up in beauty

A smartly accomplished and compelling plot! Talent and imagination meet technique in the unlikeliest of places.... the "Fracture" between two worlds.

The characters are driven by McKevitt's own hand. Built by her obvious vivid imagination you will come to know them personally. They will pull you in to the story not chapter by chapter but paragraph by paragraph.

McKevitt's writing style is freshly surprising and flourishes with touches of realism that make the "Secret Enemy Saga" a double edged

I loved it!!!! This book by Virginia McKevitt is very well written, easy to follow, and very interesting. Unique storyline, interesting characters, with a nice slow buildup of action and romance. Tegrin and Kristina make for a great read, and keep you interested throughout. The sidekick couple, Jimmy and Sissy, are seriously as great, and I hope that things work out well for them in the series. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to finish her second book in the series, The Hunted. It is geared m ...more

Loved the book. It is a different kind of parallel worlds that actually connect.
Kristina meets Tegrin by accident but ends up falling in love with him after he saves her
and they have to work together to save her world from people from his world. She finds
out that what she thought about her family was not all true and gets to meet and learn
about her other family in the other world.
I love the concept of parallel worlds. The characters are strong and draw you into their lives. The flow of the story is seamless and kept me interested throughout the book. I definitely want to see where the relationship between Kristina and Tegrin goes and find out it they will succeed in taking care of the Couton.
It was an engaging read. The first part of the story was ok, but the hook that got my attention was in middle with the anticipatory visit to the other world. The writing style was also a bit different to what I usually read. It was overall a very good read, and I cannot wait for the next in the series to come out.

I was given this book to read and review by Lovers of Paranormal. First off, I would like to thank the author, Virginia McKevitt, for the opportunity to download this book and read it for my honest review.
At first I had mixed reviews about the book. I loved the story line but I felt that the characters were not really all that emotionally connected to each other and to me as the reader. The story was kind of jumpy for the first 1/3 of the book and some of the time I had a hard time figuring out

If you want to read something ORIGINAL for a change of pace from the usual paranormal fare, this book is for you! Virginia has created a wonderful cross of modern day setting and fantasy, with unique characters. Suitable for YA and older, this story will take you on a multi-dimensional adventure as you delve into the hearts and lives of the main characters during their quest to battle a seductively unique enemy! The tale pulled me in and held me captive, delivering just enough adventure and roma ...more
Fabulous story combining our own world with another, separated only by a 'Fracture'in the universe. We meet Kristina, a young woman struck by tragedy with the loss of her family and struggling with the help of her friends Sissy and Jimmy. And Tegrin, the King's assassin, looking for a group of women causing chaos in the modern world. Two worlds, two people and a shared destiny. A great new must read that I highly recommend!
right from the beginning this book captured me. Each of the four main characters feel so real to me and I can identify easily with them. The detailed description in the book really allows you to see the pictures in your head. This is unlike any other book I have read. I can not wait to read book two.

I really enjoyed this book. It took a few pages to get into it but I was soon hooked and found it to be very gripping. A really good blend of the real world with the mythical. Really looking forward to book 2.

Loved this book!! The author really get you to know each character.

Kristina has green eyes. This is very important. It must be, because the author literally tells us 24 times over the course of the book. 24 times. Every time I saw it again, I thought, “Surely, this is the last time,” and unfortunately, I was wrong. It kept coming back over and over and over again until the very last page.

Maybe you’re thinking So What? You can’t judge the entire book based on that! And you’re right. But it’s a clear sign of the kind of writing that plagued the story. It’s emotio
I was given a copy of this book from LoP in place of an honest review.

I love the cover of this book and it really goes along with the story. I love how green her eyes are and it really is something that draws the eyes to look at. This is a whole new paranormal story that has a really good spin.

Tergin is the right hand man that protects his king and does what he is ordered to. If the king says to go to the other side to get the Couton that have escaped. Even though Tergin has one for a lover doe

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*

I’ll admit when I started reading the very first chapter I wasn’t sure how much I would like this book. It was my first fantasy novel, but I wanted to expand my reading base so I continued to read on and I am very pleased that I did.

It started off a little slow but I believe it was building up to the action half way through the book. There was so much detail packed into the pages. The author cleverly combines the fantasy world of
