This Basher Science nonfiction book is an amazing resource for any student trying to learn more about Earth's weather. It is one of the books in my 9th Grade Science Classroom Leveled Library and it's also found in my school library. This book is a page turner as it holds a wealth of knowledge and fun pictures on every page! It educates the reader on the sun's role in Earth's weather, how Earth's seasons occur. I haven't read any of the other Basher books, so I can't compare to those, but I didn't really like this. Each page describes a different kind of weather. The page is written in a first person point of view. Example from the "Hurricane" page: Brooding and sulking, I'm an angry tiger of moist air chasing my tail. I understand that the writer was trying to be light-hearted and funny, but it was too juvenile. In some cases, the writing was confusing and would not help students learn more about weat ...more
