Nope.

For me, this is a classic example of a decent and reputable author being indulged.

Straight away, these things cheesed me off...

• Present tense - my bug bear. It works in YA, action, thriller, but in erotic romance and erotica it sounds like the author is jerking off while they write.

Ew.

• Abuse of dialogue tags... He breathes, he grits out, he rumbles, he mumbles, he grunts, he groans...

Shut the front door.

• Over description. The putting on of socks in the very first scene is a case in poin...more

Bookended is a short story involving Justin, his boss Fletcher, and the random pick up they find in a bookstore. It’s difficult to really review, because it is, for the most part, a sex scene with the three of them. Justin is Fletcher’s personal assistant with benefits. Fletcher can’t even decide if they are a couple or not. Ogden has been ogling Fletcher for quite a while and finally, Justin brings the situation to the forefront by addressing the man.

They end up in a threesome, which is writte...more

This was fantastic - the way the dynamic shifted throughout the story made a hot sex scene even hotter, and you're given just enough insight into Julian and Fletcher's relationship to want to know more. The ending (and the beginning, for that matter), took me from liking them to absolutely loving them. Also, m/m/m. Not always easily done, but executed very nicely here. (Read: hot like burning).

As Heidi's frequent cowriter, I'm not a disinterested reviewer. But I beta-ed this short story and am happy to testify that it's an awesome, fun, really hot gangbang—ahem, menage—double ahem, ménage—well, whatever you want to call it, it's hot! There's a lot of complicated power dynamics going on, but in a very light-hearted and totally consensual way. The initial flirting in the bookstore will put a smile on your face, too. This is the sort of porn that just might make you feel a little bit sma...more

This is one hot little quickie. The beginning was a little confusing, and, for some reason, I had a hard time remembering who was the boss and who was the PA. Once the guys get things going with Ogden, things heat up fast. when the encounter ends, things get a little confusing again, and it felt like there was a lot missing to the overall story.

Because it's a shorty I only give it 3 stars. The story was a short tree-some and it was a HOT one, too. I'm disappointed in shortness, because it drawn me into instantly. Julian and Fletcher were interesting, their relationship was undeveloped and pulling, but sadly to short.
