I really was determined to like this book, especially after the author, whom I do not know, pursued me to review it. Why, I don't know. Actually, the opening chapters grabbed me immediately, and I was sure I was going to love it. Unfortunately, as I read, it became more and more boring. Please do note, however, that many reviewers liked this novel, probably because it does flow. It's an easy, quick read. My reasons for dissing it are as follows.
