My two year old loves this book. Frankly, it bothers me. I don't mind that it's a secular approach to Christmas--tons of picture books are. It's how it misuses and trivializes religion that bothers me.
For one thing, this is clearly a book about Christmas (thus the song at the end, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas,") and yet there is a menorah. I actually like the menorah and the recognition of Jewish traditions, yet how would I feel if there was a cross in a secularized book about the Jewish Pass...more
