Guy Clark is one of my favourite artists. His music grows on you like a good wine. The first sip you take, you are not sure what to think. It's complex in its simplicity...if that makes any sense. His songs, like all great songs, have a sense of timelessness about them, like they could have been written 100, perhaps 200 years ago but also there is something 'now' about them too. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good book. It was slow at times, but when you really dig into it, I think the author's did a good job of getting some of the history behind many of Guy Clarks songs. I also believe they did what they could to show the highs and lows of Guy. With that said, I did have an opportunity to speak with a man who sold Guys albums and t-shirts in Petaluma, CA in 2004 or 2005 and he was very harsh towards the authors and commented that Guy claimed the authors were ...more
