Weather or not you are a deeply religious person, I think you will love this book. Why? Because I think this book is fantastic for everyone who has a child, and wants their child to grow up tolerant and loving towards others. You don't have to even be a certain religion for this book- it just speaks about "God".
This book is extremely well written, has a great flow, and lovely illustrations. It is all about a little polar bear who doesn't understand why there are other types of bears in the worl

God Gave Us the World by Lisa T. Bergren and Laura J. Bryant is the most recent entry in the wonderful God Gave Us series. In this book, Little Bear and his family visit a museum where he sees other bears from around the world, and he wonders about their differences and just why God made them that way. Mama Bear carefully explains God's care for creation to her curious little cub. I truly love this series by Bergren and how she uses these bears to explain difficult concepts to children in a way ...more

This is my very first review for Blogging For Books at Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing Group.

The book I will be reviewing is called God Gave Us the World by Lisa Tawn Bergren.

Has your child ever asked you about the world he/she lives in? This book would be a perfect introduction to the big, wide world that God made.

This book starts out with Little Cub and his family heading to the museum. The theme was bears around the world. On their way, Little Cub asks his mom if all bears have pink tongues.

This was a wonderful story with all kinds of different bears. My youngest loves bears and she sure enjoyed this book. The beautifully colored pictures kept her focused and she made big sister read it over and over.

I thought this was a wonderful story with a fantastic lesson. A polar bear cub in the north pole learns that God has made many different types of bears living in different lands and with different types of fur. Little cub learns that every bear has a special place in God's great big wo

I LOVE Lisa Tawn Bergren picture books and was thrilled to receive a review copy of this book. She has such a unique and special way of showing aspects of God to children that I connect with on many levels. I’ve read several of her other children books and enjoyed how the story is brought to life in the beautifully illustrated pages by Laura J. Bryant.

This story talks about the world around us and how everyone is different in a good way. The little bear asks his mom why all the bears are not the

God Gave Us the World by Lisa Tawn Bergren; illustrated by Laura J. Bryant

Like most young children, Little Cub is full of questions when he visits the museum with his family. One special exhibit displays bears from various locations around the world. The young polar bear is surprised to find that a world exists beyond the North Pole. He's even further amazed to discover that bears who live in those far off places are not just like him. They look different, they eat different, they like different

God Gave Us the World Written by Lisa T. Bergren and Illustrated by Laura J. Bryant is a sweet little book that teaches children that God created the world, and all the different people in it, using a bear family's trip to a museum to start a conversation between Momma bear and Little Cub. The illustrations are adorable, and perfectly describes the authors words.

I read this book to my two daughters (ages 4 & 7) and they absolutely loved the story. We will be trying to collect the rest of thi

God Gave Us the World by Lisa Tawn Bergren illustrated by Laura J Bryant.

I enjoyed reading God Gave Us So Much by Lisa Tawn Bergren that I decided to review God Gave Us the World.

During a trip to the Museum Exhibition, “Bears Around the World”, Little Cub begin to learn about life beyond the North Pole. Mama Bear talked about the different places where God has put the various types of bears with different kinds of fur and food. Little Cub begins to wonder why didn’t God make all bears the same.

God Gave Us the World is a sweet book with a good learning point; I would have to say, not only for children but adults as well, especially in remembering to take care of this world we live in. Also to consider that while God made the world and everything around us, it is our home, and if we don’t take care of it, God becomes sad. I also thought the story was quite visual in the way I could even picture Mama Bear catching the snowflakes on her tongue. Lisa Tawn Bergren pens an exquisite story, a ...more

I love everything that I have ever read from Lisa Tawn Bergren be it children's book, historical fiction or other. I especially love her God Gave Us series. Each book is adorable to boot, but has such a great message that really helps to explain things about God to small children. I love all of these books. I really need to add God Gave Us You and God Gave Us Two to our collection and then we'll have them all!!

I also have a special book to share with my future Grandbabe. God Gave Us the World, what a great title and message to give to a child. Here we share the message that while we are all different that we are all loved, cared for and special. That God did give us this world in all of it's wonder. And that each of us was chosen to be just who we are. I like that in this one Little Cub enjoys seeing other animals and plants that interact. Some are big and strong and some are fragile and delicate. But ...more

This book may be the best conversation starter of the series yet. I have enjoyed all of them so far, but this one has a beautiful way of bringing up how creative God was when He created the world. It is told by bringing up the different bears and where they live in the world and what they eat, but it can easily be brought up how people live in different places, with different foods and different looks. There is a bit of tree hugging in the mix, but it's not overdone so I didn't mind it (you know ...more

What an adorable story. I love books that inspire the kids to read to me. God Gave Us the World reminds us that despite our differences, we have something in common...this great big world. We loved traveling with Little Cub as he ventures to other countries to experience new cultures, foods and make new friends. Overall a great story to be enjoyed by little ones and parents alike.

Another beautiful book in this series! The pictures are big and beautiful. The story is about the wonderful world that God has given us, how creative God is to make us all different, appreciate each others differences, and take care of this world He has given us. I highly recommend this one!
