An excellent book on sewing without patterns, with tips on how to vary 10 items from skirts to cloaks.
Step by step instructions with diagrams/photos.
There is also a useful section recommending three places to go for sewing help, as well as recommended blogs.Of course I would also recommend my own textile services too if you need help and/or inspiration. Clear illustrations -- clever (and to me, new) construction methods -- it's too bad I didn't care for one item of clothing thing here. Also -- models: I know smiling can be overrated, but how about a teeeensy little grin? A smirk?

There are some good ideas in here (although I can never get behind saying that near enough is good enough and poor sewing doesn't matter!) but the fashions it describes are just not attractive to me in any form.
I think the designs lack any sort of style. Disappointing.
