Manphibian .
That's maybe the most awesome monster name EVER!
So, you can tell right off the bat that this one doesn't take itself very seriously. I don't have any background in any of these characters, so I don't know how well they were represented. Well, unless you count the old Spider-man cartoons that featured Morbius every now and then.
Can I count that?

Anyhoo, there's a virus that's making the monsters in Monster Metropolis act all monsters.
Morbius is sort of the Gove

This is an entertaining but forgettable homage to 1970s Marvel horror comics. The story is that Elsa Bloodstone (in a version more consistent with her appearances in Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. Ultimate Collection than her original Buffy-derivative limited series, which is fine with me), a monster hunter by trade, stumbles into Monster Metropolis, a vast city of lumbering movie monsters policed by the Legion of Monsters - and there's a virus spreading that strips monsters of their civility and ...more
Instant Classic.

This really doesn't seem like a Marvel book. Yes, it's got Mobius, the Living Mummy, Werewolf By Night, Manphibian, and the rest of the Legion of Monsters, but the art and writing feel much more like an indie comic. This book's been a long time coming and it's wonderful to have the Legion of Monsters star in their own series at long last. They inhabit a fully developed world beneath New York City and have a terrific adventure. Humor, drama, secrets. This book has everything a co
Really, it's a 3-star story, but man, Juan Doe's lovely art really kicks it up a notch.
Elsa Bloodstone's gravity defying hair cracks me up.

I was a really fun book! Morbius, Elsa Bloodstone and Jack, the Werewolf were great characters and interacted very well together. Gotta love Elsa's inner monologue of Dad would say the Werewolf is not your boyfirend, but she totally wanted him to be. She starts the story hating all monsters and ends it realizing she was wrong, even considering to date one. I'd love to read more about these characters! <3

Legion of Monsters is part of the Marvel Comics universe, but you won't find the traditional Marvel superheroes here. Instead you get Elsa Bloodstone, famed monster hunter. Something's turning regular (mostly) law-abiding monsters into serial killers with dark magic, and the citizens of Monster Metropolis need Elsa's help to stop it. And she needs the help of her werewolf not-boyfriend Jack, of course, because reasons.

It's a strange little book, I must admit, and at times the art is questionable

2.5 stars.I fell in love with the characters in Legion of Monsters in Rick Remender's "Frankencastle" run. I loved the monstropolis and the banter between these misunderstood monsters. When I saw that there was more, I was very excited. Perhaps I was too excited, and hence my feeling of dissapointment. The story had real potential, with some interesting twists, but the execution was too cluttered, too rushed, and in my opinion, a big opportunity was wasted. Very little is explained, so that the ...more

Fun. I dunno where Dennis Hopeless came from, but of the two things I've read by him, I've really enjoyed.
