As an avid reader I've obviously been familiar with James Patterson, but I had yet to try one of his books. I decided to take the plunge with this new one of his that lured with me talks of dark secrets, murders, and teen detectives. While I can't compare it with his other works, I ended up feeling very satisfied with it. He has an easy to read writing style with incredibly short chapters that makes it almost impossible to put it down since "Just one more chapter" would only take another few min...more
Edit Jan 15 2013: Okay, to tell you the truth this book have been on my mind ever since I finished it and reviewed it. I have been debating whether to drop the rating down a star. The reason was because I kept on thinking to myself why the hell did I give this book a 4 stars? I kept thinking and couldn't think of reason why I gave it 4 stars (even with the 2/3 mind blowing parts). So therefore, I am going to drop this to a 3. End of Edit Jan 15 2013

I would give this a 2.5/5. It wasnt really my kind of book but I got tricked into reading it by the pretty cover. It was a murder mystery. It wasnt a quirky Nancy Drew style story. It wasnt haunting like the red and black cover might suggest. It wasnt romantic like most YA. It was just a murder mystery.

I hate forgetting to actually add my review once it's done... :P here we go:
When I picked this up from the library, I immediately went to Goodreads to see people's reviews...I don't usually do that, but I was on the fence about reading this, having only put it on hold upon reading about it in at the end of Nevermore.
I do not recommend doing that. The reviews range from "absolutely amazing!" to "what the hell did I just waste my time reading?" so it did not help me decide if I wanted to read it,...more

When I saw Confessions of A Murder Suspect at the American Bookstore I had to buy it. Look at that cover. It’s awesome. As you may know I haven’t read a lot of mystery books, so I wanted to be in the right mood to read this book. And two days ago I was.
The characters are great. You have Tandy, the daughter, she feels no emotions, is smart and very calm. Hary, Tandy’s twin brother, is sweet. A bit too emotional, very talented and just cute. The youngest brother is Hugo. I thought he was a bit we...more

YUM! Devoured this book in one night and really enjoyed it! If you're afraid it can't be as good as the Max series, don't worry, this book is not a downer! It's really good and has a fast-paced story line. Give it a go, it could very likely be the next big thing!
BEFORE:
I didn't know that this book even existed!!!! Eeek! It sounds, and looks, amazing!!! There's a brief snapshot of it at the back of Nevermore which makes it look oh so inviting!!! Can't wait for it! This better be good :)

Confessions of a murder suspect is a great book that has a crazy family drama. The main character Tandy is a great un-realatible teenager because her father and her uncle used her as a person to test his drugs that angel pharmasy could use to sell to people who do not live in the country. Their uncle and father were keeping it a secret. The police had come to her house late one night and heard her father and mother malcum and maud. I think this book is very intersesting beacuse of what has happe...more
Fans of V.C. Andrews will definitely be drawn into this one. Our murder suspect narrator is one Tandoori "Tandy" Angel, and yes, she is named after the South Asian food making oven. Tandy is one a member of the famed Angel family of Manhattan. Malcolm, the dad, is one of two brothers that own the super successful Angel Pharamceuticals, and Maude, the mom, is a successful hedge fund manager. And that is just the parents! Eldest sibling Matty is a Heisman Award winning NFL football player, her twi...more
Confessions of a Murder Suspect is a thrilling mystery story about Tandy Angel and her three brothers, trying to solve their own parent’s deaths (Malcolm and Maud). I read the book "Confessions Of A Murder Suspect" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro over winter break. This book is about a family whose parents have been mysteriously murdered. The book starts out with the main character Tandy(who excels at everything as well as her siblings) hears sirens outside of her window and before she knows it police men are inside her house telling her that her parents had been murdered and that she, and all three of her brothers are suspects. To Tandy this is a huge...more

I was floored at how good this book is. I started reading and thought WOW! This is an awesome book. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to put it down at all. I did end up putting down to do some things around the house but I kept thing out it. So, a couple of hours later I picked it back up and read it until it was done. I hardly ever get that into a book right of the bat but this book just draws you in and will not let you go.

This book.. I have so many mixed feelings about this book. From the start I was so intrigued because the main character herself was unsure of her own innocence, but that made sense and was completely explained in just a few chapters. The further I read the more and more convoluted things got and more twisted everyone became. Everyone looked like a suspect, but if you read enough murder mystery stories it is admittedly pretty easy to step outside the box and guess what happened.

Confessions of a Murder Suspect is a fabulous YA murder/mystery. First-person narrator and protagonist, Tandy Angel, awakens to police at her family's door only to learn that her parents are dead. With no signs of struggle, robbery, or break-in, the detectives immediately look to Tandy and her siblings, Matty, Hugo, and Harry, and their mother's live-in assistant, Samantha Peck, as the prime suspects. Tandy knows that she and her siblings had strained relationships with their parents, but cannot...more
Tandoori Angel, better known as Tandy, prime suspect in the murder of her parents, decides that she is the best person to solve that crime. Said parents make the average tiger parents seem like kittens and, not surprisingly, the four surviving Angel each excel in their chosen endeavors, ranging from art to football. Their parents had also raised them to be sociopathic, so its not particularly surprising that the four of them catch the attention of the duo of detectives assigned to the case. Even...more
Tandy and her brothers Harry, Hugo and Matt aren't overly fond of their parents, the powerful and wealthy Malcom and Maude Angel, but they don't want to kill them. Someone has, however, in the middle of the night while the apartment was locked. All of the Angel children are supersmart and have other amazing capabilities, so the police suspicion immediately turns to them. The fact that they have a lavish lifestyle but controlling, demanding parents doesn't look good either, and when further incri...more
I've heard a lot about James Patterson's thrillers, but never read one, so I thought I'd give his new one a try. It lived up to expectation in delivering a fast-paced, high tension mystery that kept me turning pages.
Tandy Angel is a member of a ultra-high achieving but decidedly un-angelic family. When her parents are murdered, Tandy sets out to solve the mystery. Her suspects? Her mother's PA, her three brothers ... and herself.

I didn't know how to feel about this book when I finished it. I didn't know whether I liked it or hated it. I also think I am being a little generous with the star-rating. So maybe I'm leaning more towards didn't like. But there's a reason for my mixed opinion. This book was confused. I mean it was written that way.

Quick & Dirty: Patterson does not disappoint in this teen mystery. It’s filled with relatable characters and a mysterious story plot that will leave you wanting more.
Opening Sentence: I have some really bad secrets to share with someone, and it might as well be you — a stranger, a reader of books, but most of all, a person who can’t hurt me.

So this was my first James Patterson book, Confessions of a Murder Suspect. He’s a big author, I believe he was the top paid (or at least in the top 5) author last year or this year; and after what I just read, I don’t think I want the exact facts. I’d rather not know about how much this author makes… or maybe I would. The only reason I would is so that I can somehow justify what he just wrote as a severe lack of time. 'Confessions of A Murder Suspect' by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, is an outstanding story to read. I would recommend this book to my friends due to it's mysteries, characters, and connection you could feel with the characters. The main character in this book is Tandy Angel. She is the daughter of the murdered parents, Malcolm and Maud Angel. Tandy is trying to figure out who killed her parents and why. You could get lost and surprised in the mystery that goes on.

James Patterson, one of the most well known authors, some how continues to produce amazing series. With the Maximum Ride, Daniel X, and Witch and Wizard series reaching millions of readers, it seems that maybe Mr. Patterson would take a break. Thankfully this is not the case with the renowned author's new novel Confessions of A Murder Suspect. Written with his extremely visual writing style, Patterson drifts away from his genre of fantasy and science fiction and goes to a more realistic mystery...more
This book was told in a very persuasive narrative that had me second-guessing about what really happened to Malcolm and Maud Angel, two extremely successful (and cunning) entrepreneurs who were found dead in bed. They had four highly intelligent and exceptionally gifted children -- Matthew, Tandoori, Harry ♥ and Hugo -- who were labeled as the prime suspects for murder especially after they showed no remorse or sadness for their parents' death. But the Angel kids weren't exactly what you'd call...more

My first book in the year of 2013 and what a pleasant surprise it brings me. I am really happy and am twirling around in circle right now...
James Patterson is just... BRILLIANT . The mysteries, the suspense and plot. UGH! May I just say they kill me? And the way Tandy tells her story, events overlapping until truth finally comes out of the surface. THE TRUTH! The truth I've been waiting for 300+ pages! It is so beautiful and nice I find myself nearly losing it. I have been frustrated at Tandy for...more

A light weight, though intriguing read. 16 year old Tandy Angel discovers both of her parents were victims of an apparent homicide. It's a closed room mystery; the only ones home at the time were herself, her twin brother, her 10 year old brother, Hugo, and mom's secretary.
The Angels are a high powered family. Mom is a hedge fund manager, Dad runs a pharmaceutical company. All of the children are overachievers and think of their parents as tigers who keep them caged.

I really liked this book.
Sometimes I struggle with Patterson a bit. I also get bored with it easily. Tandy is not boring. She caught me as reader right from the start. I read the book in one sitting, front to back. That says a lot right there.

Since the disappointment of the end of the Maximum Ride series, I was slightly hesitant to give Mr. Patterson's writing another shot.
Thankfully, this time, I wasn't let down.
It's a murder mystery, and a good one. The ending was sufficiently unexpected; the tension and urgency of the atmosphere was evident. Usually, I would prefer a little romance in novels of this genre, but sadly James has proven himself incapable of writing teen romance in a halfway decent manner at all.

I'll admit, the fancy cover made me think this book was going to be amazing. Within the first 50 pages though, I was annoyed by the writing style. I absolutely despised how Tandy addressed the reader. In my opinion, it took away from the book; it was more distracting than anything to have the reader be brought into the story that way. Another thing that irked me was the way Tandy would vaguely mention something only to say something along the lines of "but I'm not ready to talk about that yet."...more
