Nice delineation of the factors that determine swell: currents, weather patterns, the topography of the ocean floor, paired with stunning photographs edited by Surfer Magazine photo editor Peter Taras. Educational in a light, pleasant way. I did not know about Hawaii's perfectly sculpted distant reefs...
I also learned about why the Southern Swell is so coveted and that the waves tend to be spaced farther out.

Lovely and powerful.
I got this book because it was on the cheap and I needed some wave photos for research for one of the WIPs. The book is full of photos but not as many as I was expecting and not a lot of photos of waves from the area I needed.
A good book if you like photos of mostly North American waves but not a great book for me.

A beautiful coffee table book filled with photos of waves. I had thought there would be more information on the waves but a perfect book to take away the sting of just getting home from Hawaii!
