I have been in the business world more years that I care to admit. I have followed John Maxwell since the beginning of my career. I’ve read many of his books, including books one and two of the Laws series: The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership and The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork. I have just finished reading the third book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. As in the first two books of the series, the third book is full of wisdom, motivational sayings and true illustrations.

John C Maxwell is master of the To Do list, but what makes his lists so valuable is the profound wisdom contained in the goals he proposes and the methods he suggests to achieve them.
All of us would like to grow: in our character, our relationships, our professional development and our education, but daily demands on our time and attention often get in the way of making growth happen. In this book Maxwell identifies first why it is important to grow, and then how we can apply laws of growth to...more
I've read the author before. His 101 books, maybe 12 years ago.
I find his use of the term "law" just wrong. How can you apply a "law" to personal growth? And then, why 15 laws? Why not 10? Or 12? Why "invaluable" I found this extremely subjective. I found the enumerated lists and the questions very annoying. The writing quality is sub par and the narration by the author, despite having an excellent voice in my opinion, is forced. He lost me from time to time, and that was just annoying. I found...more

This a another John Maxwell classic. It is filled with valuable stories and examples of those whose lives were devoted to growth and how and why this helped them serve and develop others. As he always does, the book is filled with quotes from those he has met or studied throughout his life of self-development, which almost always helps to drive home the point being made at the time. Perhaps what best illustrates John's thesis is a a quote early on by James Allen, "People are anxious to improve t...more

I have read many of John Maxwell's books on leadership and personal development. His writings have impacted my life in a big way, and this book is no exception. I think this is the best book he has written.
If you really want to grow spiritually and as a leader, you will benefit greatly from this book.
In Chapter 1, Maxwell deals with the law of intentionality - growth doesn't just happen. Some people don't realize they have to pursue growth, they may not realize how to grow, or they may be waitin...more

My Audible Review:
What's Your Growth Plan?
Are you missing something from your personal development plan? Do you have a plan? This audiobook is great for anyone who is on their journey of growth and introspection. Maxwell provides great insight about his own personal journey and provides chapter-in-review questions to help the listener dig deep within. I really enjoy listening to John C. Maxwell's voice, which is part of the reason that I purchased the audiobook, rather than than paperback or Ki...more

I believe that this is probably Maxwell's best book to date and a must read for new grads, someone stagnantly unemployed or just dissatisfied with their current path in life.
Utilizing Maxwell's typical concise format, he lays out how people reach their potential and steps/exercizes for doing so. He also gives real life examples as well as quotes to ponder in one's own reflection and growth process. It is laid out in very simple, short, though-provoking chapters and with 15 laws, comes in at abo...more

This book like many other John C. Maxwell's books, takes a topic we all know (or think we know) and states it in simple English to drive home exactly how to implement the ideas within. There are no new ideas in the book, but many old ideas stated in a new and refreshing way. John always has lots of quotes in his books, and this one is no different. The quotes are a great way of remembering a principle and keeping it fresh in your head. I recommend this book to anyone that is open minded enough t...more
This is a brilliant book and will help anyone willing to take on even one tiny bit of it's message.
I found that I use some of the systems mentioned in it already but found so many good tips to expand upon my own ways of doing things. Very inspirational, John also asks some good, honest, and yes, somewhat confronting, questions about the things we do and the company we keep. Motivationally in the top 5%.

Invaluable is a fitting word for this book. It amazes me that John Maxwell has written so many good books and keeps coming up with home runs. This one is loaded with excellent ideas and examples of growth principles that will lead one to reaching their potential. The common sense and inspiring principles, or laws, are easy to learn about and remember.

Truly a life changer, the fundamentals of my habits/thought processes and how it correlates to the motivations/desires for everything I do in life. Without a doubt, this book presents invaluable/undeniable laws that should be considered. Masterfully written from one of the greatest teachers/leaders in the world, John C. Maxwell. I would recommend this book for every human being who desires to be a better person and have an intentional game plan for growing.
The way John Maxwell presents his ideas is unbeatable. Reading this book I was able to get a closer understanding of myself . It also gave me the chance to think freely far from my comfort zone and approach the real point of starting the long path of interpersonal development. This book was a best practice of Tom cruise's words in his famous movie Vanilla Sky " every next moment is another chance to turn it all around"
Very good book. I enjoy reading Maxwell's books because they are an easy read. This book seemed to hit upon many of the issues I am internally struggling with (What do I want to be when I grow up, am I getting stagnant in my job, where do I want to go/grow). Some might say that Maxwell has hit upon many of the topics and themes in his other books, and I would agree to some extent.
I listened to this as an audiobook. As it is read by John Maxwell himself, I really enjoyed listening to it. It brought me back to the days when he was the pastor of the church I attended. This is a secular book, directed especially at businessmen and leaders. However, I found many principles I could apply to my life as a stay at home mom. I found the opening section on growth gaps - things that keep you from growing- especially helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who in looking to li...more
I have always known of the importance of personal growth. I just didn't have the creative ideas that this book offers. I love John's leadership philosophy. This is a great read, but be aware that reading it is only the first step in the process. You have to apply the principles to really benefit from this book.
Pretty impressive book. As usual a lot of useful lessons from Mr. Maxwell. I really liked them and will try to apply as much as I can.
