Bellamy Price has written a best-selling novel under an assumed name. The novel, is a fictionalised account of her family's tragic true story. Eighteen years ago her sixteen year-old sister was murdered, strangled to death at a Memorial Day barbecue hosted by her wealthy parents. A tornado ripped through the celebrations soon after, scattering any evidence to the four winds.

When her real name is exposed and the truth behind the fiction revealed, Bellamy starts receiving threats. The novel for B...more

Tight suspense plot and so-so romance. A lot of players but done very well.

Sandra Brown is known for her strong romantic suspense novels. I have always been a fan. Low Pressure is the title of a book written by our main protagonist Bellamy Lyston Price and also happens to be the title of this book.

As with most other Sandra Brown books there are many players. We have our main couple of Dent and Bellamy, Bellamy’s family which in...more

Low Pressure is a highly entertaining, suspenseful novel that will having you guessing until the very end!

Sandra Brown has created a fantastic set of likable characters in this newest novel. Unpretentious rich girl Bellamy has repressed childhood memories of the day her sister was murdered. She's written a novel, Low Pressure, in an effort to bring those memories to the forefront and bring the suspicion she has that the wrong man was accused and found guilty of the murder. She teams up with her...more

I am a fan of Sandra Brown and have read most of her releases throughout the years. I find that most of her books can be classified as ‘easy reading’ in that they do not require a great deal of emotional investment and you can generally get through them in one day. ”Low Pressure” is no exception.

I, personally, prefer books that involve me a bit more. I like to have to work at guessing who the killer is and, hopefully, the ‘why’ as well. I like to identify with the heroine and I like to find the...more

I'm reading the PDF from NetGalley on my Kindle. My wife, Suzie, is way jealous. I've registered for one of the free signed hardcovers because Suzie is a huge fan and would cherish a signed Sandra Brown first edition.

Today is 20-Sep. I did a progress update, and I can't see that it appears anywhere, so I'm putting it here, too. I'm 18% done and have this to say. I got sidetracked right after I started this. I started marked my...more

A book, named ‘Low Pressure’ is written under a pseudonym. There is a claim that is it based on fact; concerning the murder of a teenager that occurred 18 years prior. The characters are all based on real persons somehow connected with the death and investigation. The ending is rather ambiguous, leading the readers to believe that the man sent to prison for the murder of the teenager may have been the wrong person. When the truth of authorship is revealed by a low-life tabloid reporter, the boo...more

Low Pressure is about a writer Bellamy Lyston who has a best selling fiction novel. That has leaked that it was based on a true story that happened to her when she was 12. The way she wrote it stirred up a lot emotions and questions about who the real killer might have been. Did the cops have the wrong guy sent to prison where he was murdered?
Someone is messing with Bellamy sending her scary presents, breaking into her car and house. S...more

Low Pressure
By Sandra Brown

Bellamy Lyston Price never wanted to be associated with the bestseller that she wrote. She had written it for purely therapeutically reasons, but when it is found out that she is the author and the book is based on the murder of her sister when she was twelve years old she is thrown into the limelight. Now as she is going home a sleazy reporter implies that maybe the police convicted the wrong man and she along with her sister’s boyfriend of the time she was murdered c...more

I've been a Sandra Brown fan for a few years now. She's always left me feeling a little breathless at the end of her books - from the intense romantic suspense to the twists and turns she gives at the end.

And yet Low Pressure left me...not so breathless.

My problems started really early on when I found myself asking a really important question. Why was a column reporter so gung-ho on outting an author's pseudonym with her real identity? What was so fantastically awesome about this book she had wr...more

Every time I read a new Sandra Brown novel, I'm reminded of how much I enjoy her work. "Low Pressure" is one of my favorites; I couldn't put it down. When Bellamy Lyston finished writing her fact-based book, "Low Pressure," she never expected it would open up so many wounds and hurt so many people. Now a successful writer, Bellamy felt the need to recreate the life-changing events that befell her and her family when she was only 12 years old:
At an annual picnic her father held for his many empl...more

Sandra Brown is a seasoned author with many, many books to her credit. She is however, an easy, yet enjoyable read. Her stories flow and one is caught up in the story/mystery, having difficulty putting it down. This book is true to her past form.
You are given the 'mystery' or problem and Brown offers snippets of information at just the right time to keep you guessing and keep you reading.
If you need romance in your book, there is some of that in this. I found it unnecessary and skipped through...more

Impeccable! As usual, I was not disappointed by the new romantic thriller wonderfully written by Sandra Brown. The reading is rhythmic, absorbing and fascinating with tons of surprises... Impossible to put down this book before it was finished!

I admit I'm rarely disappointed by a plot proposed by this author. Action, suspense and new developments. There is also depth in the characters that are never smooth, never made of one single color. Nothing is ever simple with Sandra Brown like in real lif...more

As always Sandra Brown delivers! This was another incredible book that I couldn't put down. The book focused more on unraveling the murder mystery this time and the sexual encounters were not as racy as some of her other books. There was still the romance piece but it was toned down quite a bit in comparison to her previous titles. As always I spent most of the book trying to figure out who the murderer was and why. She has a way of giving out information throughout the book to keep readers hook...more

Mulai dari paket bangkai tikus mati hingg...more

Okay, Sandra Brown is one of my guilty pleasures. She offers an entertaining fast suspenseful read, infused with some really sexy scenes with the inevitable denouement that makes everyone grateful: the girl gets the guy, the guilty have been nabbed, and that happy ever after business. The premise is that Bellamy writes a book about her sister's murder 18 years after and passes it off as a novel that has been written under a pseudonym. Her identity as author is revealed and all hell breaks lose....more

LOW PRESSURE is one of those books that is partly AWESOME and partly really, really to-the-point-of-inducing-seriously-harmful-eyerolling dumb. I'm surprised this book is labelled specifically as ROMANTIC suspense because personally, I thought that the romance was lukewarm at best and laughable at worst. It was all just so painfully and neatly patterened that despite all the build up or lack thereof, I knew exactly when something was going to happen between Bellamy and Dent and exactly when they...more

Bellamy Lyston writes a book that she titles "Low Pressure" in as a totally therapeutic measure meant to help her remember traumatic events that she blocked out 18 years earlier when her sister was murdered. To her surprise, the book becomes an overnight bestseller, and she, a reluctant celebrity. Although the names have been changed, those involved in the events of that fateful day can recognize themselves and Bellamy in the book's characters, and she suddenly finds herself in danger as they se...more

fantastic read! reminded me of her old books like charade and breath of scandal. i liked how intricate and related all the characters were and everyone had motives that it was a good puzzle trying to figure out who is the real killer. i had a guess at the start but didnt know how or why and i was glad i was right.

i cant say much or it will be a big spoiler so will just give a short one about the characters.

Really wanted to like it. I liked the big picture concept of the murder mystery. The story itself was way too cheesy for me. I disliked the love story, Dent was way too old for her and I found it creepy that they were hooking up...I mean, he was her murdered sister's boyfriend for creep's sake. I thought many of the characters were just not that believable, or perhaps just too stereotypical that they weren't very interesting (the reporter, the dirty lawyer, dumb thug, tortured alcoholic retired...more

Grade B/B-
Narration B

I enjoyed the book, including the narrator, Stephen Lang. At times I thought he was almost as good as Viktor Slezak as far as his voice, but he isn't as consistent as Slezak is. I was satisfied, however and it was a good listening experience.

The story wasn't my favorite.. mainly because it took so long for the protagonists to come together in any real way. They were antagonistic for a long time. The plotting also didn't seem quite as smooth as some of Brown's earlier boo...more

I like Sandra Brown when I'm in the mood for something mindless. I'm in the middle of reading one of the Seth Speaks books, and it's very heavy, about death and reincarnation. So I needed a break now and then. Normally there is always a man and a woman who are antagonistic towards each other, but you know they will be in love by the end of the book. She is very creative with her plotlines, however, and often I can't figure out who did what until the very end, and sometimes it's a surprise. So I...more

Sandra Brown is back!!! FINALLY!!! And happily, "Low Pressure", her first new book in what seems like an eternity, doesn't disappoint. Quite frankly, Ms. Brown kicks butt with this taut and intriguing whodunit...

Writing under a nom de plume, Bellamy Lyson authors a novel about the murder of a wealthy young woman on a stormy Memorial Day. But when Bellamy's identity is revealed and the story turns out to be a non-fiction account of the death of her sister 18 years ago, questions are raised and ol...more
