The novel for Bellamy is partly cathartic, hoping to resolve issues related to her sister's murder. But more than that, she's hoping the writing of the book will trigger some of her memories about the events of that day, lost for eighteen years.

Sandra Brown is one of my favourite authors of romantic suspense and has been for many years. Her stories, and particularly her characterisations and dialogue are outstanding. Her heroes for me are some of the very best in romantic fiction. Nobody does these tough, down-on-his-luck, sexy as all-get-out, smart-mouthed heroes as well as Sandra Brown.

Denton Carter, a pilot, was the boyfriend of Bellamy's sister at the time of her death. Though cleared of any role in her murder, he has since remained estranged from Bellamy's family. Now circumstances have brought Dent and Bellamy together.

Ms Brown introduces a host of possible murderers, a sleazy ex-prosecutor, a thuggish ex-cop, the unstable brother of the convicted murderer, a stalkerish fan, even Bellamy's stepbrother. Or was the right man caught and convicted afterall?

The plot is tight, the pacing is fast. Sandra Brown has written a taut, convincing suspense. Her characterisations are as usual, top-notch. The dialogue smart, snappy, often humorous. The plot is believable. The romance grows naturally out of Dent and Bellamy's time together.

This is another winner for Sandra Brown. Low Pressure is a first-class romantic suspense and the reason Ms Brown is on the best-seller lists. A recommended read.

I am a fan of Sandra Brown and have read most of her releases throughout the years. I find that most of her books can be classified as ‘easy reading’ in that they do not require a great deal of emotional investment and you can generally get through them in one day. ”Low Pressure” is no exception.

Today is 20-Sep. I did a progress update, and I can't see that it appears anywhere, so I'm putting it here, too. I'm 18% done and have this to say. I got sidetracked right after I started this. I started marked my start at July 28, didn't actually start then, and got sidetracked a small percentage into the story. It was a tad slow at the outset, but once the locomotive got out of the station, Sandra fed some coal to the firebox. This baby is rumbling down the rails and the scenery is a blur. The brakeman can kick back for coffee, as his services will not be needed for a while.

I love Sandra Brown. Her characters are usually damaged or otherwise vulnerable and which is part of what makes them very interesting. The first of her books that I ever read was Envy. Back in the days before I became a Kindler, I got it in paperback for fifty cents at charity fund raising event in the form of a company book fair. Sandra didn't get enriched by that purchase, but she did get a hooked fan. It is still my favorite romantic suspense novel, and I use it as the standard when I add romance to my suspense writing. For me it was five stars with room to complain for not having enough stars to bestow.

I read an advance galley of Low Pressure from NetGalley, and I went past the publication date in getting it read and reviewed. Having now taken the journey, I can report that I liked it very much and would have easily been willing to pay full price for it. (I should add here that between my first fifty-cent encounter with Sandra Brown and this free galley, I have made enough purchases of her books and audio books to help keep food on her table and will continue to do so. I know she will match the high water mark of Envy again someday. That knowledge keeps me in her bleachers.)

I thought Low Pressure started a little slow, but it ultimately caught me in its tractor beam. The finish was explosive and satisfying. As always, I'm anxious to see where Sandra is going to take me next.

Novel yang menarik dengan alur cerita yang cepat dan seperti biasa SB berhasil membawa pembacanya hanyut dalam cerita suspense. Karakter Bellamy yang tangguh meski itu membawa dirinya dalam banyak kesulitan ditemani oleh Denton Carter yang menjengkelkan tapi menyenangkan membuat novel setebal 632 halaman ini jadi tidak berasa berat, meski pengungkapan sang pembunuh kurang memuaskan :-( . A book, named ‘Low Pressure’ is written under a pseudonym. There is a claim that is it based on fact; concerning the murder of a teenager that occurred 18 years prior. I've been a Sandra Brown fan for a few years now. She's always left me feeling a little breathless at the end of her books - from the intense romantic suspense to the twists and turns she gives at the end.

At an annual picnic her father held for his many employees, Bellamy's older sister, Susan, was found strangled to death after a devastating tornado tore through the park where the event was being held. As many had been injured, initially it was believed that Susan died as a result of the storm. Once it was determined that a murder had, in fact, occurred, however, the first person held in suspicion was Susan's boyfriend, Dent. When Dent was ultimately cleared, suspicion then fell on the boy Susan was romancing at the picnic, Allen Strickland. Although Allen was ultimately convicted, there had always been a nagging doubt in the minds of some, including Susan, as to his guilt. My Review

Bellamy Lyston Price is from a rich influential family, in order to rid herself of her demons, stemming from her sister's murder eighteen years ago she writes the account under a pseudo name as a novel. A tabloid journalist uncovers the story is fact and who the real author is. What follows is a chain reaction that threatens not only Bellamy but her family and all it stands for.

The book is, I thought, a wee page turner. It starts with Bellamy being discovered as the author and the first contact from someone not happy with her book. It then draws out the story of how she came to receive the contact and what she was doing up until that point. As well as unwanted gifts/threats the book also prompts contact from an old figure from Bellamy's past that she and her family would rather forget, his presence evokes a few unwelcome responses and tensions are running high. Soon Bellamy has more than feelings and threats to deal with when her life is at risk and the one person she doesn't want to spend time with might be her only hope.

There are a fair few characters in this book however they are carved out well and I had no problem following who was who and what was happening. Practically from the beginning you know who the bad guy is and the main issue is will he capture and kill Bellamy and was the right person convicted for her sisters murder. Right up until the end you have quite a few suspects of who the actual killer could be and more than one person isn't happy with Bellamys digging to free the locked memory of the day her sister was murdered.

The story, I felt, was definitely a thriller although it is laced with the romantic tanglement of her past with Dent, her sisters ex boyfriend/her past crush and one time suspect of her sister's murder. The family hate him, he has a huge chip on his shoulder, lots of attitude and a definite chemistry with Bellamy. The book has murder, lies, sex (there are a few scenes so if your easily offended you can skip over them or just pass on this book), deception and family secrets, to name but a few of the issues covered in this story. I have read Sandra Brown before and would read her again, this story had bits were the story pulled on for a bit but overall it was a really good read, 4 out of 5 for me this time. Sandra Brown is a seasoned author with many, many books to her credit. She is however, an easy, yet enjoyable read. Her stories flow and one is caught up in the story/mystery, having difficulty putting it down. This book is true to her past form.
You are given the 'mystery' or problem and Brown offers snippets of information at just the right time to keep you guessing and keep you reading.
If you need romance in your book, there is some of that in this. I found it unnecessary and skipped through...more

Impeccable! As usual, I was not disappointed by the new romantic thriller wonderfully written by Sandra Brown. The reading is rhythmic, absorbing and fascinating with tons of surprises... Impossible to put down this book before it was finished!

As always Sandra Brown delivers! This was another incredible book that I couldn't put down. The book focused more on unraveling the murder mystery this time and the sexual encounters were not as racy as some of her other books. There was still the romance piece but it was toned down quite a bit in comparison to her previous titles. As always I spent most of the book trying to figure out who the murderer was and why. Kisah di buku itu sendiri menceritakan tentang peristiwa pembunuhan Susan pada saat terjadi bencana tornado yang kemudian di kenang sebagai Memorial Day.
Ternyata, bukannya Bellamy melupakan peristiwa itu, tetapi motif sebenarnya dalam menulis buku itu yang diakuinya kepada Dent adalah karena ingin mengingat segala detail tentang peristiwa itu yang mana tiba-tiba dia merasa bahwa ada bagian yang hilang dari ingatannya. Bersama Dent, dia mencoba menyelidiki kembali siapa sebenarnya pembunuh Susan, meski Allen Strickland telah di dakwa dan di tahan atas tuduhan terhadap pembunuhan Susan.
Sembari mencoba memecahkan misteri itu, Bellamy juga di buru oleh seseorang yang sering mengirimkan ancaman-ancaman mengerikan padanya. Belum lagi di tambah dengan kecemasannya akan kondisi ayahnya yang semakin memburuk karena kanker.
Dalam buku ini Sandra Brown kembali dengan suspense romanticnya seperti biasa, yang tentu saja membuat saya tidak berhenti membaca hingga selesai. Kejutan-kejutan selalu ada, dan ternyata jiwa detektif saya berhasil menebak siapa pembunuhnya.
Selain membahas tentang buku "Low Pressure" yang merupakan judul buku Bellamy, novel ini sendiri memberi beberapa gambaran tentang pesawat. Tentang penyebab kecelakaan yang tentu saja awam bagi kita.
Untuk sampulnya, saya agak bingung dengan gambar seorang gadis yang duduk santai di jembatan pinggir laut seperti di atas, padahal sedang ada tornado mendekatinya. Sepertinya saya lebih suka sampul aslinya.

Okay, Sandra Brown is one of my guilty pleasures. She offers an entertaining fast suspenseful read, infused with some really sexy scenes with the inevitable denouement that makes everyone grateful: the girl gets the guy, the guilty have been nabbed, and that happy ever after business. The premise is that Bellamy writes a book about her sister's murder 18 years after and passes it off as a novel that has been written under a pseudonym. LOW PRESSURE is one of those books that is partly AWESOME and partly really, really to-the-point-of-inducing-seriously-harmful-eyerolling dumb. fantastic read! reminded me of her old books like charade and breath of scandal. i liked how intricate and related all the characters were and everyone had motives that it was a good puzzle trying to figure out who is the real killer. i had a guess at the start but didnt know how or why and i was glad i was right.

Really wanted to like it. I liked the big picture concept of the murder mystery. The story itself was way too cheesy for me. I disliked the love story, Dent was way too old for her and I found it creepy that they were hooking up...I mean, he was her murdered sister's boyfriend for creep's sake. I enjoyed the book, including the narrator, Stephen Lang. At times I thought he was almost as good as Viktor Slezak as far as his voice, but he isn't as consistent as Slezak is. I was satisfied, however and it was a good listening experience.

I like Sandra Brown when I'm in the mood for something mindless. I'm in the middle of reading one of the Seth Speaks books, and it's very heavy, about death and reincarnation.
