Wien um 1900. Die 15-jährige Leonie ist verschwunden. Alles deutet darauf hin, dass das Mädchen entführt wurde. Kurz darauf wird in einer Gondel des Riesenrades ein toter Zwerg entdeckt. Der Privatdetektiv Gustav von Karoly wird von Leonies Mutter mit den Ermittlungen beauftragt. Doch warum hält der adelige Großvater Leonies nichts von Karolys Bemühungen?

The book is about a detective in Vienna investigating a kidnapping in the late 19th century.

One thing I liked about the book is how well the author used Vienna as a setting. The setting is mainly Prater and it is great to read it all and imagine it. I also got to learn something about it's history. Such as that there was "Venice in Vienna", I looked it up on google, it was real. So great way to use setting for the atmosphere.
