This year's contender for the best book ever is Martin Wiggins's BRITISH DRAMA 1533-1642: A CATALGOUE, VOLUME 1: 1533-1566. It gives everything that is known about every play written in the British Isles during those years. It is as awesome as I dreamed it would be. The only way it could be more complete is to print all the extant plays and to print all the letters, Revels accounts, Henslowe entries, and other references for the plays that have been lost.
