Short & engaging. The hero is working as a negotiator at Taylor Security after quitting the FBI, his job is tough and he lost a marriage to it and now he has the toughest job yet negotiating the boss's wife release otherwise Vic is ready for tactical. The heroine is a nerd who doesn't want to feed gossip by getting involved with an executive but these two share crazy chemistry. I enjoyed the book and wouldn't mind revisiting these two again.
Romantic suspense and not get along. I have a really hard time setting aside disbelief when it comes to a suspense-type situation. Would a couple on the run for their lives really bang under a bush with bad guys surrounding them? Would an uber-alpha dude really be thinking about nothing but sex in the middle of a shoot-out? Eh. I think not.

So for the most part I avoid them. I ended up reading this one because it was in the Carina Press Presents: Vol I collection. While it did take a bit o

I love Adreinne Giordano's books. She has a wonderful realism in her voice and her stories. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is because I wanted more...
Review from Backchatting Books

This is a fairly quick little read from Adrienne Giordano involving Janet Fink, the Private Protectors' resident geek and a hostage negotiator Gavin Sheppard. Gavin and Janet had a 'moment' a few weeks ago and things get a little awkward when they are both tasked with rescuing the boss' wife (Roxann from book #1). Gavin wants to try negotiating with the kidnapper while Vic wants to storm the place. Janet is stuck in the middle trying to keep the peace.

Anyone who has read the other books in the Private Protectors series will enjoy this one as well. The only complaint I had was that it was a novella and not a full book like the others! :)

Gavin is new to Taylor Security and is pulled in using his hostage negotiation skills to try and release Michael's wife Roxann who was kidnapped. Other members of the team such as Vic, Janet, Peter, Billy, also help but it is really Gavin's job to do what he can before Vic sends his tactical team in. Janet Fink

Well, this book is a first for me, it all take place in less than 12 hours. Yes, you read that right. Hard to believe and to top it off it’s an exciting thriller combined with a satisfying romance. Negotiating Point is the latest installment in Adrienne Giordano’s Private Protectors series. This story focuses on Gavin Sheppard who is Taylor Securities hostage negotiator and Janet Fink, the company’s resident tech specialist.

My Review:

ah, I loved this story. It takes place over a single day, but Janet and Gavin have been working together for months while fighting their mutual attraction. When one of their own is kidnapped and put in a life or death situation, it brings to light the fragility of life. Suddenly for both Gavin and Janet, they realize that all those chances may just not be there tomorrow.

Janet is a computer geek. Gavin is a hostage negotiator and head-shrinker. In a romantic suspense, these are not your
This was a really short read. It’s only about 25,000 words and about 5 chapters so really, it was short. In this short story, Gavin Sheppard and Janet Fink get their happy ever after. They work together and they kissed three weeks ago. Gavin can’t stop thinking about the kiss but won’t pursue it because he’s in a supervisor role at work and Janet is support. He didn’t want to go there but when they’re thrown together on a case to help bring back their boss’s kidnapped wife, things are going to h ...more

First, I love Adrienne Giordano's voice. She knows how to tell a story in such a way that pulls me in from page one and keeps me going until I get to the end. Most of the time, when I read one of her books, I can't put it down. If you haven't read the other books in the series, this will be a nice introduction. If you have read them, it's wonderful to have a glimpse into the lives of Vic, Michael and Monk,

I got the first book in this series, Man Law, as a Free Friday nook book from B&N and really enjoyed it and the rest of the series. This novella takes place after Vic & Gina's story (and probably after Monk & Isabel's, but that is not confirmed). Gavin Sheppard is a hostage negotiator hired by Taylor Security and away from the FBI. Janet Fink is, as we all know, the magic superpower behind the scenes at Taylor Security who can do anything with technology. Three weeks prior to the beg ...more

I’ve never read Giordano before, but after reading her short story in the Carina Press anthology, I think I’m going to have to look up more of her work. Although this story flew by and seemed to be the fastest read of the anthology, I adored the story.

Gavin and Janet haven’t worked together long, but the sexual chemistry between these two is off the charts. Gavin doesn’t want to risk his executive position with starting a rel

Hostage negotiator for Taylor Security, Gavin Sheppard is the best in the business. He believes any situation can be resolved through the gift of speech rather than going tactical. So far, he’s proven himself correct. When his boss’s wife, Roxan, is kidnapped, tensions run high and Gavin has to fight to hang on to his beliefs. He and the agencies tech “geek”, Janet Fink, work together to find a way out for Roxan who, they have just found out, is also pregnant.

Gavin is a kidnapping negotiator and hopes to find out where his bosses wife is being held. The bad guys had sent her husband Mike an email with the link stating one of their own was unjustly accused and in jail and they need to not only release him but put it on the front page of the paper she works for.
Mike and Gavin wanted the tech geek Janet Fink along in solving this and Roxanne, Mike's wife was pregnant.

This novella was very interesting, to say the least. I wasn't sure what to make of it for a while, because it was as iif the romance took the backseat of a two-seater, though the tension was great - had me on edge. After the tension eased a little, though, the loving bit was very cute - the techie and the #1 mood manipulator(in a good way). Watching the hero and heroine scope out their feelings was super fun because they both seem very introverted, but they understood each other -

Why Negotiating Point is a Red Hot Read: If you’ve yet to read one of Adrienne Giordano’s Private Protector stories, run to your computer and download one from Carina Press, Amazon or Barnes & Noble ASAP!

Adrienne has a talent for crafting strong suspense plots and right-on-the-money male characters. This novella is about Gavin, a hostage negotiator, and Janet, Taylor Security’s geek-in-residence. They’re in close quarters, trying to negotiate the release of their boss’s wife. Talk about hig
novella. Disappointed that Janet and Gavin did not get a full novel to explore and build their relationship.
This is a novella about Taylor Security employees Gavin Sheppard and Janet Fink. Janet gets some mention in the previous books, but Gavin is a newcomer. Gavin is a hostage negotiator who's about to embark on his hardest job yet, negotiating the release of the boss's pregnant wife. While this is going on, he and Janet start their relationship.

As I said, this was a very quick read and a nice addition to the series. I liked that we got to see a little bit of the previous characters and their develo

I LOVE this series and I am a HUGE fan of Adrienne Giordano but I thought this book was just okay. The premise of the story was good but it just didn't do anything for me. It was definitely not my favorite but it had some good scenes. I liked seeing Monk, Vic, Michael and Rachel again and I thought Gavin and Janet were cute together. I can't wait for Billy's book!!! 3 out of 5 rating more so because I love Adrienne's style of writing and I again love this series and the characters.
The "hero" refers to his penis as his "wanger." I have a relatively high tolerance for wtfery, but I draw the line at "wanger."

(I would not have read this if it hadn't been in my ARC that included the new Shannon Stacey novella. I thought it may be fun for a quickie read. I also wouldn't have read it if I'd seen that cover.)
Exciting hostage negotiation plot, uber tension and hot sex, read this novella!
I love this series!! Can't wait for August for Billy Tripp's story.
