Ariela is a mutant faerie, born without wings. No wings, means no magic. The Veil of Enclosure that separates the faerie land of Fei from the human land of Hege begins to dissolve. The humans go through the Veil in order to steal the faerie children and enslave them. They clip their wings so the faerie children lose their magic and die soon afterwards. The Faerie Council a...more

Background: Hege the human realm and Fei the faerie realm are at war. Fei is loosing, not only their population but also their hope. It is up to Ariela to save them, only she is not a normally faerie. Along her journey she meets others that try to help and hinder her goal of rescuing Fei.

Review: I appreciated this read, it had many layers that the reader can move through, never boring, always a twist or unexpected plot line added. I felt that some of the characters were a little lacking and one...more

In Lore of Fei, you go through a crazy journey with Ariela (a wingless fairie) who is not only trying to find out where she belongs and who she is but she is also trying to save Fei and the fairies. I was captivated by Lore of Fei, I just wish there was a little bit more kissy mushy stuff in it. I loved how Ariela, the one who shouldn't exist, the one who has been sheltered most her life is the one who The Fairie Council go to, to seek help as their last resort to save themselves and their land...more

This book is a quick moving story with an interesting twist on faeries and their fight for survival in a world ruled by humans.

I had a hard time enjoying the book because I couldn’t connect with Ariela. Her alliances seemed to flip flop without explanation. Her relationship with Rion confused me. Just when I thought I understood their history, Rion narrated a few chapters and his memories of their relationship seemed completely different. His view was more intense and revealed quite a bit about...more

I can't honestly say I enjoyed this book.

For me, the plot dragged and worst of all, the characters were flat and boring. For a book about faeries, I expected to be dazzled. I love books about the Fae/Fei (The Fever Series is one of my fave series period). But this book just didn't do it for me.

I will admit, there were sparks of excitement but overall it was pretty lackluster. Ariela, the main character, is the only faerie with no wings, yet I didn't see her as special. I found her rebellious an...more

I received a copy of this book for an honest review as part of a blog tour.

MY OVERVIEW: Ariela is a faery without wings. Cool! Humans are trying to take over Fae (land where faeries live), ok, not too original, but still cool. You will need to reference the glossary at the end of the book a few times. The author has created different words for different things (ie. Snow is now snwain).

PROS: *Down on my knees begging*… Can I please have Tashie appear outside. I will love her and tak...more

This book is the first of the series Lore of Fei, a series I’ll follow as I enjoyed this first book a lot.
In a world where the humans want to enslave the faerie and take their Fei land, Ariela has lived seventeen happy years, until the night her parents were killed and she was taken hostage by Kel, the Warlord of Kel’s Lair and a human, who also owns East and West Lairs. Kel is the faerie’s biggest enemy, because while the Veil of Enclosure is dissolving,...more

Kathleen has been writing since she self published her first book of poems at the age of eight. Okay, she copied her poetry in her best printing, she hole punched the sides of paper, tied a red ribbon around it, made a construction paper cover and called it her first book! She writes in different genres, but Young Adult fantasy is her favourite.
