Director Stan Heberling’s well laid plans to complete his Senior Film Project in one short weekend were quickly dissolving into oblivion. After all, he had cast the audacious Keisha, and the self-proclaimed martyr, Bryce, as the lead actors in “Letter 13″. Even traveling to the film location in the Catskill Mountains proved that the film’s goals were in jeopardy. Mishap after mishap befall the young film crew even before they find a strange and mysterious locked chest protruding from the riverba...more

Stan Heberling, director/writer/cameraman, has 48 hours to complete the filming of his thesis movie entitled Letter 13. Perceived as a know-it-all with delusions of grandeur at Eisenhower College, he has had a near impossible time getting the people he needs to complete his movie. Bryce Fowler, whiner extraordinaire, and Keisha Crenshaw, a true performer, are hired to costar. Unable to book a student with even basic camera skills, Stan had to beg his 15 year old sister to give up her weekend to...more

This book was impossible to read for me. I had so much trouble with the author going off on side trips describing the characters or the history of the area the book was taking place in. I like knowing my characters but this just seemed to go on and on and not get anywhere to help the story line. I lost the story line so many times with all of the side trips that I am not sure I even know what the bo...more

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my review. Wow, this book was tough for me to get through (took me several weeks)! After reading the general description given by BookRooster, I decided to give it a try and actually regret it. This may have some appeal to a young teen, but it really didn't have much for me. Some minor editing errors (did I read that there was an actual editor?) were a bit annoying at times. I just didn't like it.

"Dead As Dutch" is Rich Docherty’s debut novel, but he’s no novice when it comes to arranging words on a blank page. He has written numerous screenplays and plays that clutter his shelves and clog his desk drawers. Occasionally, however, one of his scripts is dusted off and made into a movie, such as the indie film comedy he co-produced, "Dumping Lisa". He continues to write at his bungalow in a N...more
