I heard about this book from tweets and posts going around the web. I don’t like anthologies, or collections normally, but I know a couple of the contributors through twitter and facebook. I decided to check this out. It is a collection of “seasonal” essays as the co-authors call it. A collection written by a dozen plus contributors who have written short essays about the four stages of their lives. I purchased this book because I was familiar with Tess Hardwick (Thompson) and Tracey Hansen's work (and a little of a few of the other authors as well), and also the fact that the book supports a great cause: all of the authors are donating their proceeds to charities that work toward eradicating breast cancer.

This is truly an inspirational book - not only is it comprised of a diverse selection of insightful essays and reflections on life by many talented writers, its generous authors are donating their proceeds to foundations that research treatments and cures for breast cancer! I recommend everyone read for the fight and buy this book to help out an amazing cause.

WRITE FOR THE FIGHT: A Collection of Seasonal Essays was all at once inspiring and enlightening, highlighting the wonderful, magical, and downright frightening parts of our lives through eyes that have lived them, will live them, and cherish them. I felt a sense of belonging as I read through these authors' tellings, the words reminding me of my own childhood, adulthood, and that which I want to be when I grow up. I have my favorites - the heartfelt writings of Marni Mann and Tess Hardwick - but...more
