Fact or fiction? Sometimes it’s a very fine line.
When Charlie Grayson wrote a story about a vampire, she didn’t think it would become a bestseller, nor did she think it would become a movie, especially with Michael Dunne, Hollywood icon, playing her charismatic, troubled vampire, Annarchie.
For Charlie, it’s like a dream come true. During the film shoot, she gets to know Mi...more

A Tear of Blood by Julie Harris is the story of a writer who is breaking into the movie business when she is asked to write the script for a movie based on her book. It is a vampire book and little does she know that the actor chosen to play the vampire in her story fits the role so well because he really is a vampire, and her story is about him.

I really enjoyed this book because it is not your teenage daughter’s vampire book. It is a nice change from the teenage angst found in most popular vamp...more

My dirty littlesecret is that I love vampire books. Ever since I read Dracula, I have been on a quest to read every vampire book I can find. Of course, like all voracious readers of vampire books, I do have some pretty basic standards: a hot, sexy male vampire, his obsession with a human female, who recognizes what he is and is torn between retaining her humanity and the promise of everlasting love and passion in the arms of her vampire. Sex is more important than blood, but throwing in a little...more

This novel has a very different plot. Charlie is the author of a vampire novel, which is now being filmed, starring Hollywood's most popular and handsome man, Michael Dunne. Michael tells her that the vampire character, she wrote about in the novel, is not fiction, and he is that same vampire. Charlie thinks he is crazy, at first, but soon finds out what he is. Michael, who had been waiting for centuries loving (at least what he thinks love is) Charlie, losing her again and again to Death, is tr...more

Charlie is an author who writes a story that just comes to her one day. Michael is the heart-throb actor that is cast as the leading role. Michael belives that that the story that he is acting out is real, that he was once an alien and has turned human. He has lives for hundreds of years searching for true love. Every time he finds her, she is taken from him and he must wait again for for to be reborn so he can find her again. He believes that Charlie is his true love. He must now convince her o...more

**I received this book from the Bookplex.**

Vampires are all the craze right now, however some books/movies are not up to par. So when I read the synopsis I was kind of worried. It seemed interesting because it’s pretty different than the typical vampire mythology, Annarchie does not turn to dust in sunlight, nor does he have to worry about a stake through the heart. But even so, since it is drastically different than the usual vampire novels, I was apprehensive that it wouldn’t be good, especial...more

I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of this novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it -- in fact, more than once I stayed up past my bedtime because I couldn’t make myself put the book down!

Harris simply knows the craft. Her characters are well-drawn, she does a great job plotting, and best of all she has taken a vampire book and used it to tackle truly universal themes about love and deception.

I highly recommend this book.

I loved this story! To me, it a wonderful told story that crosses genres. It has romance, mystery, horror, and the paranormal in it. There is also a reincarnation theme going throughout the story and I totally love the way everything was laid out for us. It is literally a story within a story and it will keep you guessing to the very end. Julie Harris is one of my new favorite writers!
