I was actually contacted by M. Dauvillier directly and asked to take a look at this book. After a long day of pouring over the book via Google Translate, I managed to understand a good 80% of the story, but was stumped by the "little mouse"/baby teeth parallel. After doing some searching, I discovered that the French version of the Tooth Fairy is a small mouse who does the same job, and is literally called "little mouse" (Petite Souris).
