This was a good short story once it got going.

The start was a detailed explanation of what the detective agency investigates and why. This was a little boring and it could have been added later once the story had already gripped you.

The actual story plot was very good, it involved a detective agency made up of 2 detectives and a receptionist, they take on a case and in the course of the investigation come upon a man who has been locked away in a shed. They rescue him. This man has been experimen

This was a very short story. Though I liked it, I still felt that it would have been better if it would have been longer.

The concept was really good but the story needed to be developed more. There are few visible gaps that sort of broke the reading pace. Long sentences and complicated explanations sometimes dragged the narration and made me go back over what was being said.

The end was unexpected and very different, but a bit of clarity on how it came about, would have been wonderful. Overall

Well written with a good style and tone. The idea was good too. However, the development of characters could have been better, which would have brought the story alive. Worth a look and I will certainly be watching for more.

Got this as a free ebook from the author; again, I appreciate Ms. Baethge’s generosity in making her works available for comment with no financial recompense.

This is more of a long short story, which seems more of a first chapter in a longer work. It is narrated by Lilly Aldeern, who is hired as secretary to her brother, Robert, and his detective-agency partner Timothy Creed. They are competent albeit disorganized, hence the hiring of Lilly. The story is that the boys are hired to investigate L

Recommends it for: Science fiction and fantasy readers who dream about the future
This review is for the Kindle edition ebook.

An evening of reading, or a future to consider.

What if it was possible to see into the future? Lilly is hired to work for her brother and his friend. An investigation leads to the discovery of Joe, in an old shed. Joe can not remember what he used to do, but he can tell what will happen in the next few minutes.

Sarah Baethge shows a lot of promise in this short story. The plot is great, and lets the reader use their own imagination to explore the future

Shelves: short-story
This is an interesting short story about roundabout goings-on at an aerospace company, as seen through the eyes of a young woman working there. The concept is very sound, and would definitely benefit from lengthening, which would explore the story in much more detail, as what is presented is very intriguing. The serio-comic atmosphere keeps the story fresh and readable until the end.
