My oh my… let me make this short…

1. Blunt
2. Crude
3. Tedious
4. Boring
5. I couldn't find any intimacy or emotional connection
6. I totally disliked the prologue
7. I disliked the characters and the story as well
8. The sex scenes…caveman vibes all the way, baby. Uh, yeah, ramming a cock into a woman's pussy is not all that exciting if you can't enjoy any foreplay. In all honesty, they were badly written and the opposite of hot and erotic. Sadly, it was a huge turn-off. Bad, as in really bad. *rolls e...more

I actually spent most of this book actively disliking Eva, right up until the "big misunderstanding" is explained. I think I only stuck with the book because it was short and I was curious how things would turn out and I really liked Alexei.

It seemed like the reveal to the reader too a bit too long. Alexei still doesn't get it until quite a bit down the road but I, as the reader, would have preferred it earlier. I just have a hard time reading about characters I can't respect and while I unders...more

Her Russian Billionaire by Theodora Taylor is a perfect example of plot development at its best. The story starts out with a young couple enjoying college life until disaster strikes. The plot continues to wow me as I follow the strained reunion between Alex and Eva. Both are shocked to see the other, but Eva is even more terrified because she’s been harboring a secret. I like that Eva and Alex are very different but make a perfect match. Alex is almost stuffy yet falls for a woman that is anyth...more

Alexei Rustanov and Eva St James had a blistering affair when they were graduate students in Texas, until Ella ended it leaving Alexei at a loss as to why.

Fast forward eight years later, and they have a chance run in at a wedding party, and how.

Alexei wants Eva back, and in order to bring her to heel, he makes an offer that she can't refuse. Of course, Eva has her own reasons for running, and if she can fulfil her end of the bargain, Alexei will be none the wiser at guessing her reasons.

I liked the premise of the book, it was an unusual one. A black Texan heiress and a working-class-turned billionaire Russian. Although evidently self-pubbed, it was still intriguing enough for me to bite the bullet and Kindle it.

The book wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it was very readable. I wasn't overly keen on the heroine, but I really liked the hero, which is fairly unusual for me. I mean, I grew to like Eva in the end, but I have to say, I needed the explanation as to...more

I gave it two stars because I finished it. But what a waste of 3 hours. The russian guy, worked for me, the "black woman" (though I don't get why you have to constantly make that distinction, she's just another woman) worked for me, the reunion of two estranged lovers worked for me, the development of the book did not, at all. I have read over 60 novellas from Lynne Graham alone so I know I didn't like not because of the plot but because of the writing, and I'm terribly sorry to say something ba...more

Really good book! It started with a bang and held my interest throughout.

Other reviews talk about the hero, Alexei, but I loved the heroine more. Eva was so different. She had natural hair, she was quirky and free-spirited. I love how she would make lame jokes to ease her discomfort. I also sympathized with her because of the way she was treated by her father and the tough decision she had to make in leaving Alexei. He even admitted, once he learned the truth, that she'd made the right choice i...more

What a fantastic find! I haven't read anything by Theodora before, but now I can't wait to read her other books. This one was great! It had the perfect blend of current happenings and flashbacks without feeling like information-overload. Eva's portrayal as a strong woman who would do anything for the people she loves is spot-on. Alexei's over-the-top revenge scheme is pulse-poundingly hot, and so is he (oh that accent!). All around, this book had everything I really look for in a story - the cha...more

I can't say I really see why this has such a high overall rating. It was just ok in my view. I'm all for suspending disbelief for a bit, especially as it seems more necessary in erotic romances, but here it was just kind of silly. And the sex was definitely NOT even close to the best I've read...very little foreplay, teasing, etc. Just a bunch of pounding most of the time. Also, it was another case of telling the reader that the hero is some dominant, strong alpha male, rather than showing up--b...more

I'm so tempted to go into a lonnnnnnnng rant about this type of storyline, but I got to pg 41, rolled my eyes, and that was the end of the story. There were other things in the story I didn't really care for, it was bad enough that Eva (MC) left, but the reasons she gave and then finding out the real reason ended the story for me. I've seen this type of storyline quite a bit in interracial novels and honestly it irks the shit outta me. I'm sure there's plenty of sex, but it's not worth reading t...more

I couldn't put this book down. I read it straight through. I love the hero Alexei. The way he loved Eva and in all the ways he was determined to have her. At first I didn't like Eva. I thought she was selfish, but as the story progresses and you find out what happen to make her break off her relationship with Alexei, you come to love and respect her. I really enjoyed reading this book and I didn't realize it was a series. It read well as a stand alone and I will be reading the other books in the...more

Very shallow plot with awkward dialog. I never felt like the H&h really liked each other that much. I do usually like the whole secret baby plot line, but this one missed the mark for me. At the beginning I did think I was really going to like it because of the jerky hero and the potential OW, but the H didn't ever redeem himself, the heroine wasn't likable enough for me to care, and the OW went nowhere. I was digging a little bit of the revenge sex theme though, but it was pretty wham-bam...more

The story is very enjoyable. Although the hero wanted to get revenge for the heroine who left him 8 years ago, he was never very nasty when he was with her. He also struggled with with his conscience when he wanted to go through with his revenge plan. I can understand both characters point of view regarding why the heroine left him when they were young and why the hero was all upset about it. It was a good story and on top of it, I enjoyed seeing how possessive the hero was over the heroine.

This was a fairly good read. The story definitely kept my attention but I wish there was a little more external conflict. I felt like the characters were holed up in one spot the whole entire story and it was just a battle of wills. I also would have liked to see how Alexei dealt with his uncle and I also would have liked to see more interaction and conflict between Alexei and Aaron. Overall, pretty good.

I loved this book! I've read the first book in this series, and it was SLOW, but this one had me form the first page to the last. I LOVED Alexi, I loved Eva...I thought their love was so sweet. I dont want to give the story away so I will leave with this. This is another great read by Ms. Taylor. I cant wait to see which state is next. I vote for Arkansas, lots of smoking hot me up that way!

all I can say is....I really liked Alexi and his accent. Eva not so much until the big reveal. Eva's parents on the other hand....hated them from the first word. I hated them more than Lexi's mob uncle. Typical stuck up snobs with egos the size of Texas and played blatant favorites. I could go on about these people. the story line was good just not great.

This is one of them stories that you want to beg for the character's happy ending. Its such an addictive piece of writing, with wonderfully descriptive settings and some very naughty interludes. The main thing though for me is that fundamentally its just a real romance and real love. Reccomend to all x

I gave this book extra points because it made me read Alexi's dialogue with a Russian accent:) There was great chemistry, between the two characters, from the beginning until the end of the book. Even with Alexi's thirst for revenge, I wanted him and Eva to work everything out. Good story that kept me interested.

I enjoyed this one cause it detoured from the usual love story. The ending was a bit unexpected and the hero while a bit rough around the edges, is quiet likeable. A strong yet compassionate heroine. In some places too tolerant with others - (maybe too respectful to elders who should know better).

I loved this story, Alexi was one sexy mad man. He was sexy as hell and and a true alpha male with a hear of gold. Eva could not resist the sexy man no matter how hard she tried. The chemistry between them was so hott!Theodora tells an sexy exciting story that I could not put down.

I have to say I loved this book and how deep this man love was for her. It takes a turn when she makes the decisions she has to. It all comes out and this man is really taken back by it all. It is also very erotic which I love. I will try another book by this author.

I would liken this to an adult erotica Harlequin Romance read. I liked it. It had the feel of 'Fifty Shades' without the BDSM aspects.
For me the twists and turns had a few surprises I didn't see coming but otherwise it's a low intensity erotica story with good bones.

Absolutely loved this tale of 2nd chance love that was IRR/Mobster-style....

Totally awesome read, only a few minor quirks that were slightly irksome, but overall, a top-notch read...

Hope Ms. Taylor will continue to impress...

Giving this one 4 stars...

The writer (or editor) needs to learn the differences between objective and subjective pronouns, particularly when used later in a sentence or after a preposition. The grammar inaccuracies became unintentionally funny.

I got this for free on my Kindle. It was a super fast read, and I liked the main male character alright. It was nothing spectacular, nothing I would read again. Just fluff.

I do think I'm over the whole billionaire thing.

Interesting take on the star-crossed, reunited lover's theme. I'm always leery of books where a lie and/or blackmail is a major factor. This had a more satisfying ending than some (maybe I'm just bloodthirsty) .
