In this heartwarming story that combines two books in one, “Lily Loses Her Best Friend” & “Hannah the Hedgehog Goes to Heaven,” youngsters meet eight-year-old Lily and her best friend, Hannah. Hannah lives in a cage on Lilly’s nightstand, where Lily can talk to her while she drifts off to sleep each night.

Hannah and Lily often play with Lilly’s kitty and two dogs even though Hannah sometimes decides to hide in plain sight— rolled up neatly into a prickly little ball that in truth only hides

Hannah the Hedgehog is Lily's best friend. But Hannah hasn't been feeling well lately. Lily learns that it may be time for her pet to die, but she's grateful for the time she got to spend with Hannah. This was a heart-warming book about coping with the sadness of death and moving on. The loss of a pet can often be a child's first real experience with death. It's hard to know how to cope and as a parent, it can be hard to know what to say or how to explain what's going on to a child. On the other

This was a very cute picture book about a young girl whose pet hedgehog gets sick and is going to not make it. Very tasteful and gentle way to teach young children about the loss of a pet, and you could even expand it into the loss of anything.

I really enjoyed this book. It was so cute to flip the book over and read the same basic story in the perspective of the hedgehog.

I would recommend this book to anyone with young children, even if they aren't experiencing this type of loss at the time.

I was just notified I won this book in the First Reads Giveaway! Thank you!!!

I received this book in the mail today and opened it up right away. To my surprise, this is actually a "flip me over" book telling 2 stories. The first story is "Lily Loses Her Best Friend." This is about a little girl named Lily, who has a hedgehog named Hannah for a pet. The second story is "Hannah The Hedgehog Goes To Heaven." Both are well-written and are designed to help children overcome the feelings of losing a p

This is a super-cute 2 sided story via Flip-Me-Over. So one side is the Hedgehog's POV and the other side is Lily's (the little girl.) This book gives a good example on how to deal with feelings about the death of a pet. Also, as a bonus, the book comes with a free downloadable audio of the story.
