A Trace of Moonlight (Abby Sinclair #3)
by
Allison Pang (Goodreads Author)
Drinking from the waters of lethe and offering herself up as Faerie’s sacrificial Tithe . . . these just might be the least of Abby Sinclair’s problems.
Abby’s pact with a daemon—whether or not she remembers making it—is binding, so she’d better count herself lucky that (in the words of a daemon who knows better) there’s nearly always a loophole. But her friends’ reckless...more

As seen on Rabidreads.ca:
A Trace of Moonlight maintains an enjoyable air of complication. With main characters with names like Brystion and Talivar, the initial impression would be these names belong to aliens, which considering the fact that the first eats people's dreams and the latter sports pointed ears, could not be far from the truth. The law of Mike, Craig, and Jon rightly deserves to have been broken. The shortened form of Ion for Brystion does a lot of work to keep me comfortable.

I just finished reading the whole Abby Sinclair set back to back (I'd read and loved the first in an advance copy before its publication), and I'm already feeling somewhat bereft at its conclusion. Pang does a marvelous job creating characters that are, for all their otherworldly abilities and worldviews, fundamentally and humanly flawed. They don't always get things right, they often have to backtrack to figure out how to solve those mistakes, and they love with abandon, even when jumping in he...more
Well. A Trace of Moonlight is a complex, complicated story. We start out with Abby having lost her memory, living in Faery, and betrothed to Talivar. Then she loses her amulet. And dies.
What a start, huh?
Of course, Abby’s friends can’t let her stay dead, so they hatch up a plan. And may have screwed the world in the execution of said plan…
Dead or not, Abby’s still sassy and sarcastic. Phineas is still a horny unicorn. Talivar is still a bit too nice. Brystion is still sexy and moody and broody....more

When Abby Sinclair dreams, there is a devistateingly handsome man waiting for her...he knows more about her than she knows herself. She thinks she is a mortal engaged to a fairy prince. There are nightly balls celebrating their coming nuptuals and she is happy. But things are not as they seem. Abby is a Keystone who can open the doors that allow otherfolk to travel into different worlds. Abby drank the waters of lethe which marks her as the fairies sacrifice to daemons and Abby cannot remember h...more
A Trace of Moonlight is the third novel in the Abby Sinclair series. It’s a series you want to start with the first, A Brush of Darkness. In fact the next paragraph might ruin the cliff hanger from book two. It’s nearly impossible to say what the book is about without giving something away from pervious books, but as always I am going to do my best. If you want to check out the review from the book before it, A Silver of Shadow, here you are.

I wouldn't recommend reading this if you have not read the first two books. This is a series where you'd come in and be like what on earth? I definitely do not think this is a standalone book.
I do enjoy reading the author and the series. Why? I think the plot is interesting- I find it compelling and quite different from anything out there that I have read. Reading A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT was bittersweet for me. I really enjoyed the two previous Abby Sinclair novels and so I was eager to see what Allison Pang was going to do with/to Abby and her band of friends and lovers. The author has created incredibly real and complex relationships in this trilogy and I've been on the edge of my proverbial seat waiting to find out how Abby would get herself out of the pickle she put herself in at the end of A SLIVER OF SHADOW (that whole Tithe thing in the cover...more
I love the Abby Sinclair books! If you haven't read the first 2 novels in this series I highly recommend them. Could you read A Trace of Moonlight without reading the previous installments? I actually feel like you could... But you'd enjoy it more if you knew where Abby is coming from and could appreciate all the threads that get wrapped up in this story.

A Trace of Moonlight by Allison Pang is the third installment of the Abby Sinclair series. It also happens to be my favorite so far. A Trace of Moonlight was action packed and thoroughly original. Abby is stuck smack dab in the middle of a full out catastrophe. Abby gives so much without much thought to the consequences that could fall upon her. Abby pulls this off with a feel of complete love and connection to her friends. I whined about her inabil...more

I've reviewed the other two books in this amazing series, and each one has sucked me in more than the last. I have to say that Allison Pang is one of the first authors I've read that really had me torn between two heroes. Talivar is a loyal, sexy, underdog with a quiet strength. Brystion is sexy, and he knows it. He's striking, aggressive, passionate and often selfish...it's his nature. A Trace of Moonlight takes my impressions of these two men and twists them up like a Cat's Cradle gone wrong....more

This is the third book in the Abby Sinclair series. The first being, A Brush of Darkness and the second A Sliver of Shadow (check those reviews for some great quotes that will make you smile). These books should be read in order and seriously, this series rocks so hard why wouldn't you?
This book did not disappoint. All my fave characters are back including Phin the horny unicorn. Ion the daemon who I have a love/hate relationship with, I admit did not do that to me this time. Total love fest fro...more

I think I actually liked A Trace of Moonlight the least of the three books in this series. Maybe the storyline wasn't as interesting to me. The writing is pretty good, and I think this is a decent urban fantasy series. It's just definitely not the best I've read.
This was a very quick read, but I felt like there was nothing new here from the previous books in the series. Abby is not really growing as a character, and neither are her relationships.

How the heck to write a review for A Trace of Moonlight (ATOM) without giving anything way? Because ATOM is chock full of revelations, surprises and spoilers. First of all if you have not read A Sliver of Shadows, don’t even “think” about reading ATOM. The Abby Sinclair series is best read in order to fully enjoy them since each book has built upon the other. Also, ATOM is supposedly the last in the Abby Sinclair trilogy. I didn't now this when I finished the book, because not everything gets wr...more
A long, spoilery, ranty, repetitive, haphazard, bitchy and nonsensical review.
This was utter fucking rubbish.
The love triangle was a complete mess - Abby was a silly bitch, she wanted Ion but still made sure to string Talliver along, Ion suddenly acted like he gave a fuck about Abby when he never cared about her before and poor Talliver had to suggest an open relationship just so he wouldn't lose Abby completely.
In the previous book, Abby developed strong feelings for Talliver, their relationsh...more

Book 3 in the Abby Sinclair series opens with Abby dreaming...and a very sexy dream at that...of a very sexy man who reminds her of someone she just can't place. She initially rebuffs dream guy, stating that she's engaged to a Faerie Prince, but he is rather persistent and after all, it's just a dream. However, something unexpected happens and she wakes up back in the palace in Faerie. Abby drifts along believing that she's betrothed to Talivar and doesn't remember any of the obstacles facing he...more

A Trace of Moonlight is the third and final book of the Abby Sinclair series. I was unfamiliar with Allison Pang’s work prior to being assigned this ARC, so I downloaded the sample of the first book to get a sense of the series. The sample hooked me and I ended up purchasing both of the first two books (A Brush of Darkness and A Sliver of Shadow) and proceeded to gorge myself on them. If you haven’t...more

This series has been a really fun read. I love Phineas and I also love the random pop culture references that have been sprinkled throughout. I think my big problem with this series is Abby and her indecisiveness. I get that it’s possible to love two people at once, but she’s not really willing to make any hard decisions even though she says she needs to. What she does do is continually makes things worse for herself and those around her. She’s a pretty selfish character overall and it’s nice th...more
I liked this book, it was a good read. Make sure you read the first two books first because if you don’t you will be really lost. Allison Pang did a good writing this. The storyline was enjoyable and I loved seeing the different paranormal characters and how they interacted together and the pace set for the book was great! I also loved the sarcastic banter back and forth between the characters.

Mandy's Review:
This is the third (and final?) book in this series. It's amazing to me just how much action is packed into these novels. If I were told beforehand everything that would happen, I would have a hard time figuring out just how it would all work. Somehow, though, Allison Pang does an extraordinary job of packing a ton of action into the pages of her novels yet makes it seem as effortless as breathing. They don't feel overwritten at all.

Well, it wasn't what I expect. There were so many things that irked me in this book. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book with an interesting plot but it's more of a personal feeling to the events in the book. But the Skyrim and Dragon Age references had little gamer me giggling ridiculously.

For one, Abby just makes some bad choices, seriously bad, that had me wanting to face palm or cringe with secondhand embarrassment. The love triangle is awkward to say the least, and made me /feel/...more

While I enjoyed most of the story line, I am still having hard time trying to understand the love triangle, as in why is there one??? I understand you never truly get over your first love but how can you continue to want a person who manipulated you and then sold you out. Abbey is still a likeable character in spite of this huge flaw. (Spoiler Alert) She is pregnant with Taliver's baby but still want to be Ion. The Queen is still as nasty and relevant as ever and it makes for an interesting read...more
Wtf.
Other than the conclusion to the love triangle stuff, everything else wrapped up nicely. Abby gets what she wants and she's happy. Her friends are safe. Both guys...well...
I read this in one day. It had a faster pace than the previous two books. Most threads were concluded from the series, but I still have questions. It was left open for the possibility of more adventures, but no hook ending this time. Everyone gets a happy ending...mostly.

I love this series and I was waiting for this book with impatience. I had many questions throughout the story, and as I was happy to be right at the end of the novel! Yes this is my moment when I was proud of myself, because I was waiting to see what it was all along the book to finally know it at the bottom of the story. No, I will not reveal more than that (I must keep the surprise).

This is a pretty boring book. But the problem is not the lack of events, indeed, plenty of things happen: Abby dies, recovers her memories, marries, escapes form an evil queen and only in the first chapters of the book.
The problem is that every event is told with the same tone. The instant she realized she is going to die, when she thinks she as maybe killed her lover or when she forbid her pet unicorn to play video games, the main character does not seem to feel different emotions by the way s...more

This is definitely NOT a stand alone book, you will have to read the prior book (at least) if you want this one to make any sense at all- and even having read A Sliver of Shadow, I got lost quite a bit on this journey. This one got a little too weird for my train of thought so I give it 3 stars for resolving the plot line, and I will happily pass on any future books. I found there wasn't enough character development with some of the characters that kept me interested in what happens next. Storie...more
I’ve been waiting for this book to come out FOREVER *wails*, ok, fine, like a year but that feels like forever to an avid book lover. I’m glad to report back, after reading, A Trace Of Moonlight was worth the wait! I love this book and the series as a whole is simply amazing! Allison Pang combines urban fantasy with romance effortlessly (well probably not for her, heh, but for the reader) resulting in complex world building, intense story lines and characters that will entice, repulse and active...more
