Lisset Lavigne must have a guardian angel that fetches Captain Daniel Hillary again and again to save her from being ruined or worse. The reader has a unique vicarious experience as these two troubled characters struggle to come to terms with the twists and turns that life throws at them.

How the naïve but courageous Lisset and the arrogant, handsome but guilt-ridden Captain Daniel Hillary dance around each other after the deal for passage on his ship, the Cecily, entertains and gives the reader special insight into the personality of each of them. The undercurrent of impending danger is subtle and goes unheeded for a time.

Lisset is ingenious about the ways of the world. Her father has kept her sheltered, but now he's dead and she must cope. When she overhears what her betrothed plans to do with her brilliant but different little brother Rafe, she vows to do whatever it takes to keep him safe.

She seeks the assistance of her father’s longtime friend and business associate Monsieur Baptiste and follows the advice of her older, more worldly-wise cousin Serafine that says the tea leaves indicate they must escape to England where they will survive and thrive. Serafine has a secret agenda but she also loves Lisset and Rafe. Lisset and Rafe leave behind their beautiful home and a sugar plantation and run.

Louis Reynaud, Lisset’s betrothed, considers her his property and also plans to own the property Rafe will inherit when he comes of age. He seems to have no redeeming qualities and is ruled by greed and desire for power—to be the giver of life or death at his pleasure.

As the plot and sub-plots unfold, the characters become more real. The humor and gradual revelation of the characters’ hope, fears, and thoughts keep the reader engaged. However, at times I felt I was on the outside looking in on the action. Also, all the major players, even to Serafine’s lost-lover, getting from America to England and their knowing their way around so well seems contrived at times. But the need to find out how a young Creole beauty and a wealthy Englishman manage to find common ground and their happy-ever-after kept me turning pages. A special bonus is learning about Rafe, his unique abilities, and how he is nurtured.

Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie by Samantha Grace has a special kind of charm and a beautiful love story. It also lets the reader share in the redemption of Captain Daniel Hillary whose soul had been held hostage for too long.

First time I paid any attentions to our hero was in the scene in which Jake, his brother, walks in on him while he ‘had his butter churned’! Well, how can I not be interested in a man like that and in a woman that would bring him to heel?

What a cute, entertaining read. This is book three in the Beau Monde series but I didn't know this until just now so this can definitely be read as a stand a lone. I really liked this book it has twist and turns in the plot, it has suspense, action and a really cute love story.

Ahoy there matey, today I bring you a swashbuckling good read. If you didn't already know I'm a huge fan of Samantha Grace. I love her books and they seem to get better with each story. So, here is a glimpse of Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie that takes us out onto the high sea.

A couple of months ago I read Lady Amelia's Mess and a Half and we got to meet the scoundrel Daniel Hillary. I mean in that book he was a scoundrel and you wonder if he was ever going to be to more than that. Secretly he does have an honorable bone in his body. I know, what a shock. However, he doesn't like showing that off. Come on that would ruin his devil may care attitude towards women; definitely would ruin his reputation as a rake. Anyways, let me proceed.

Miss Lisette Lavigne is trying to escape the clutches of her betrothed and make it to the safety of England. However, nothing ever goes according plan. Honestly, would you really want it to? Some how she manages to convince Captain Daniel Hillary to take her to England. Yet she happen to omit some very important details, like her cousin and brother would be traveling with her. That's just the start of the fun.

Oh man, I think I love Daniel's story the best. Granted I'm kinda partial to a story that is set to the high seas. For one thing you never know what's going to happen and second I get use words like swashbuckling.

I admire how Lisette looks out for her family. Granted it might not be the best way, but she tries. Plus, you get to see the honorable bone that Daniel has inside. I have to say that's worth the read in itself. Not only that, you learn why he is the way he is. To top it all off you have to see who is the villain, it wouldn't be a Samantha Grace book if it didn't have a twist or a twisted villain. Trust me you will never see it coming. I sure didn't.

Overall, I LOVE THIS STORY. So, come check out why I love it so much and see the adventure that awaits in Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

With danger following her across the ocean, she needs a protector and Daniel Hillary is more than willing to play the part.

Samantha Grace has again delivered a fabulous historical romance. It is so refreshing to read a novel with the right amount of emotion, the right of amount of drama and of course the right amount of romance. Added all together, it makes MISS LAVIGNE'S LITTLE WHITE LIE a novel you never want to end. With such well-written and rounded characters along with thrilling plot twists, you never know what to expect next. This delicious novel just captivates your attention and never lets go.

Lisette...sweet, feisty, stubborn Lisette. I knew from the previous novels in this series that Daniel would need a fierce woman at his side and Lisette did not disappoint. She was timid at times, but when it came to protecting those she loved, you knew she would put up a good fight. She had a fiery spirit because if she wanted something, she would do everything possible to obtain it. So when she set her sights on Daniel's heart, you knew he didn't stand a chance. Best of all, I loved her compassion for all people, whether they were a close relation or not. Seeing this only demonstrated what a beautiful person she was, inside and out.

I was so worried about Daniel's book because novels about rakes are not my favorite. Yet after finishing this novel, I realized what a fool I truly was. Ms Grace has the fabulous ability to take a character's flaws and turn them into something beautiful to behold. I was so happy to learn Daniel was really a rake that was simply misunderstood. He was a man haunted by a tragic past and simply a man who thought himself incapable of falling in love. This made him such an appealing character and placed him in a redeeming light.

Together, this couple will certainly delight you because Ms Grace establishes two characters that complement each other perfectly. While Lisette had enough strength to take care of herself, she needed a protector to ease the burden of her daily struggles. Daniel needed someone to erase the dark stain of his past and make him realize he was a man worth loving. As you get to know both these characters throughout the story, you understand they accept and understand each other like no one else could. I was amazed at how their first love scene was sweet, tender and yet incredibly sexy. There was a bit of steam, a bit of humor and plenty of emotion. It was a very powerful scene, because of the way Ms Grace simply has a way with words, and also because she has previously established such fabulous characters with which you easily create an emotional attachment.

There is something incredibly unique about the historical romances Samantha Grace composes. MISS LAVIGNE'S LITTLE WHITE LIE seems to come alive with emotion and charm as it engages your attention. You easily appreciate and understand these characters, flaws and all, as you grow to love them. This delightful Regency romance is an entertaining novel of epic proportions because of the simple beauty hidden inside. Ms. Grace executes such a clever and refreshing prose that lets you love every page of the adventure. There is always a list of books out there that make you happy you are a romance reader. MISS LAVIGNE'S LITTLE WHITE LIE is a book that I am thrilled to add to that list!

This is yet another wonderful addition to Samatha Grace's series. I love the setting and the villain's for they are truly evil to the core. Having a knight in shinning armour come along to rescues his damsel in distress proves to be quite a chore in this story.

REVIEW: This piece did not disappoint! It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Historicals and I’ve read quite a few. This piece took on a whole new approach to the typical historical you come in contact with. I love the spin the author put on this and think it was on key to be set on ship.

This was a fun romantic tale that starts with a shipboard attraction that grows to so much more. Daniel is a determined, sometimes cold captain who can be overbearing and arrogant yet he quickly sees that Rafe is an intelligent lad and shows him yards of kindness. When Lisette bustles in with her courageous, stubborn nature bound and determined to save her family, he can not help but find that attractive and she finds his caring for Rafe very attractive. Seeing her a bit skittish around his romance interlude attempts, he sets about a slow seduction and takes his time to win her over never expecting to be the one won over by her. I was a bit surprised that Daniel didn't get more upset as the truth about Lisette's situation was unraveled but I guess that was because he was already developing strong feelings for Lisette. I enjoyed that we enjoy life on the sea for a bit but we also get life back on dry land. I liked watching Lisette discover that underneath Daniels hard exterior he has a kind heart and generous nature for those he loves. As a good portion of this story does take place on his ship, we do not see as much of his family as I would have liked. Even though his brother is on board I missed some of that fun family interactions of the previous novels. The secondary characters added a warm blend and there is also a side story for Serafina that adds a bit of drama near the end. Also, I was a bit surprised with the villain reveal near the end and I always appreciate not being able to figure out the mystery beforehand! Overall, a delightful, witty romance with a dashing sea captain and a stubborn woman bent on protecting her family against all odds that will leave you cheering and sighing with delight. 4 stars

I enjoyed this book and am shocked at the total turnaround of the rakehell Captain Daniel Hilary. Lisette the innocent was an interesting protagonist and a good mother to Rafe, who sounded like he was autisitic. I found the ending at bit difficult to follow and rushed concerning the fates of Reynaud and Monsieur Baptiste. It kept me reading through the night. I honestly didn't understand the relationship of Isaac and Sarafine, that part was not well developed.

I was so excited to read Daniel's story and I wasn't disappointed. He was such an ass in the last book so I just knew it was going to be an exciting book when he was the MC. I thought it would've taken a really strong confident woman to tame Daniel and was surprised that someone so young and innocent was what it took.
