What a wonderful story that was! Solid 4 Stars!

Starting your own business as an interior designer is hard but being a single mum at the same time is harder. Sophie Calhoun longed for her daughter to be with her but it isn't possible. Leaving her daughter in her mother's care had made her double-guilty, guilty for the fact that she can only spend one day with Camille and for taking her mum's time. Finally, she is opening her dream studio, Subtle. She had put all her effort on making this happen.
Libro descartado.

Well, well, well...

This ebook was SENSATIONAL! I absolutely ADORED it, I LOVED the characters, the plot was FANTASTIC, and the characters are the type that stay in your mind FOREVER!

Front Cover.
I had the Kindle edition, so front cover doesn't count!

It's about...
Rafe Severino and the charming Sophie. Rafe, a successful business man who was brought up under the care of his grandparents, rather than his actual parents has a long-bearing grudge upon the people who were supposed to care most ab

Enjoyable, but the ending seemed a bit rushed. More of a three-point-five rating.

Full review to come.

The book was so-so. I wasn't even going to write a review but I feel the need to defend Sophie after reading all the other user reviews. Personally, I thought Sophie was a far better character than Rafe. Rafe was too prejudiced from the outset. What grown man is still harboring such prejudice at his age? Get over it already. "Boo-hoo. My mommy doesn't love me. Waaa." Really?

Then, to judge Sophie without hearing her side and abandon her at the party IN FRONT OF HIS EX-WIFE. No Bueno. He could hav

He'd been encouraged to exact revenge on his parents' decision to disown him. But it had left him guarded and alone. Far from the life full of love, laughter and family he so desired. Despite being intelligent, humorous, persistent and delectable, Rafe was a man in pain.

She had a secret that she didn't want to keep, but felt if revealed, would cost her the secure world she was desperate to create. Sophie Calhoun oozed strength, warmth, fun and intelligence - a wonderful character, determined to

I read this book a couple of years ago, but just now added it to Goodreads. That being said I remember reading it...and you know there are a ton of books that just aren't memorable. And I remember liking it and it left a favorable impression on me.

I do wish the cover and title weren't so cheesy...

This was a free Kindle read. Interesting story. The language was a little odd as it takes place in New Zealand. I wanted to dope slap Sophie for not telling Rafe "her big secret" and almost messing up a really good thing.Nut it was a nice switch that it was the girl I wanted to slap instead of the guy. Definitely worth reading.

Sencillo, ligero y fresco.

4.5☆ - A sweet yet sexy single parent romance mixed with a charming stubborn billionaire

The Boat Builder's Bed is a sweet single parent romance mixed with a charming yet slightly stubborn billionaire that is well written with great characters and a steady plot and pacing. This heartwarming light read had just enough tension / drama mixed within the mixed within the sexy and sizzling romance to make this an easy to pass a few hours book that is guaranteed to leave you with a warmth in your heart.

I have a confession to make. I downloaded this book because I totally thought it was steamy book porn, with maybe a hint of plot. Turns out, its actually a pretty nice contemporary romance, with actual plot and character motives and all that proper writer jazz thrown in, along with a fairly sizeable amount of steam. Not proper book porn at all though.

1.5 stars. This was a free book so I thought why not. The story sounded interesting. The H Raff was great. A man abandoned as a child by his parents B.C. he didn't look like everyone else. WTF!!!# you can't pick and choose which genes a child is going to pull from. I was appalled at what his mother and father did to him. Then he marries a materialistic non mothering women who waits 6, yes 6 years to tell him she doesn't want children and she's been taking bcp all along...whew he deserves love re ...more

I downloaded this book to my Nook...It was Free!

I've never read anything by this author but she made a believer out of me and so it sure won't be my last. I read the excerpts for 2 of her other books at the end of this story and I can't wait to get my hands on them...

Sophie is a woman who is starting her own interior decorating business with a daughter, who her mom has at this time, she working towards bringing her child home with her. She just needs one big

A solid four out of five stars (I really liked it), I can't give it a five star rating (it was amazing) purely because it wasn't and there are other books that I've read recently which have certainly been five stars. However, this was very, very good.

It's a quick read, but not a short story read in a day in between sorting family things out.

In essence, I think you could safely say that this is a modern day fairy tale. Young woman, single Mum who was bereaved by the death of her partner (father o

So, this is one of those don't-judge-a-book-by-its-strange-title book :)

We meet Rafe - billionaire extraordinaire (what else?) and Sophie - secretly struggling single mother. She used to work for his ex-wife and now he wants her to decorate his amazing home which she's really grateful for as this means she'll be able to bring her daughter, Camille to live with her sooner than she plans. Camille is currently being taken care of by Sophie's mother who lives 3 hours away.

The story started a little

It was a real pleasure to get to know these characters. The leads were well fleshed and thoroughly likable. And the setting, New Zealand, was drawn with enough detail that it was almost as if I'd taken a weekend jaunt to a part of the world I'll likely never be privileged to see. The author has a refreshingly adroit command of the English language, making this story a joy to read.

As for cons, well, I confess I was frustrated by the heroine's refusal to tell the hero the truth. Her original reaso

Life can be tough and you have hard decisions to make. This is what happens with Sopie when she has to choose between her career and her daughter. If she can make enough money, she can have her daughter back but to do that, she needs her new business to succeed. Along comes Rafe, already known to Sophie as he's her ex-boss' ex-husband. But is he just helping her out or does he have an ulterior motive?

The simple answer is yes, he does have an ulterior motive and this is one part of the book that

Looking for a light, pleasant story, I read this book last night, but was quite disappointed. I know the romantic genre has traditional and "necessary" elements - the nasty ex-wife/girlfriend, the gorgeous hunk with childhood/military/whatever issues (naturally!) and the misunderstood heroine who has secrets of her own. The Boat Builder's Bed had all of these, but unfortunately, for me they did not amalgamate into a satisfying read.

From the beginning, the characters could only think about lustin

The Boat Builders Bed by Kris Pearson
Sophie Calhoun is ready to go out on her own and open her own business, SUBTLE Interior Design Studio. Once her business gets going she can finally bring her daughter where she belongs, living with her. The last thing she needed was for the wind to throw her sign into a Jaguar when she was already tight on her budget. Seems that wind changed Sophie’s fate that day….at long as her secret can stay hidden.

And just for good measure, she's cloned herself! You'll now find some of her books in new, much sweeter editions under the author name of Kerri Peach.
