Bellamy Price has written a best-selling novel under an assumed name. The novel, is a fictionalised account of her family's tragic true story. Eighteen years ago her sixteen year-old sister was murdered, strangled to death at a Memorial Day barbecue hosted by her wealthy parents. A tornado ripped through the celebrations soon after, scattering any evidence to the four winds.

When her real name is exposed and the truth behind the fiction revealed, Bellamy starts receiving threats. The novel for B...more
It's been awhile since I struggled to finish a book as much as this one. After reading the sensational book Lethal, I had high hopes and expectations for this one. Unfortunately, this one fell way short.

The chemistry that was so scorching and believable in Lethal was missing in this book. I love romantic suspense novels, and I would concede that it is difficult to find a book that can balance both the romance and the suspense plots equally.

Low Pressure tells the story of a woman who is trying t...more

Tight suspense plot and so-so romance. A lot of players but done very well.

Sandra Brown is known for her strong romantic suspense novels. I have always been a fan. Low Pressure is the title of a book written by our main protagonist Bellamy Lyston Price and also happens to be the title of this book.

As with most other Sandra Brown books there are many players. We have our main couple of Dent and Bellamy, Bellamy’s family which in...more

I am a fan of Sandra Brown and have read most of her releases throughout the years. I find that most of her books can be classified as ‘easy reading’ in that they do not require a great deal of emotional investment and you can generally get through them in one day. ”Low Pressure” is no exception.

I, personally, prefer books that involve me a bit more. I like to have to work at guessing who the killer is and, hopefully, the ‘why’ as well. I like to identify with the heroine and I like to find the...more
This was more like it. I love it when SB gets in right for me. Tight, sexy romantic suspense.
Grade B/B-
Narration B

I enjoyed the book, including the narrator, Stephen Lang. At times I thought he was almost as good as Viktor Slezak as far as his voice, but he isn't as consistent as Slezak is. I was satisfied, however and it was a good listening experience.

The story wasn't my favorite.. mainly because it took so long for the protagonists to come together in any real way. They were antagonistic for a long time. The plotting also didn't seem quite as smooth as some of Brown's earlier boo...more
Picked this up at the airport, desperate to read something. It was a perfect read for that purpose, much the same way trashy magazines are. I had hoped from the cover blurb for a bit more to it though. I figured out who the killer was three chapters in. Had not figured out the motive until half way through, but was close enough it didn't matter. The red herrings are explained almost as quickly as they are introduced. I was a little appalled at the heroine's behavior, with regard to dying relativ...more

This book kept me on a rollercoaster the entire time, I was totally surprised when I found out who the killer was and I had not idea until I was near the end of the book. Bellamy Lyston Price wrote a book about her sister's murder that happened 16 years ago and it totally destroyed their family. Bellamy could not get the whole ordeal out of her head so she decided to write a book about it and she hoped that the murder would become clear in her mind. There was 1 thing that kind of got on my nerve...more
I loved the premise and setting of this book, and dove right into it as soon as it became available on NetGalley. It's not the type of book I normally read, to be fair, so it didn't knock my socks off. There was enough suspense to keep me turning the pages, though, but the romance between Bellamy and Dent was a little farfetched. I also found Bellamy to be a little too naive for the type of woman she was portrayed to be. It was a good summer beach read, though, and I am sure fans of Sandra Brown...more

Well, I got one of my two hopes for this book. It had a much better epilogue than Lethal. However, the sleazy reporter didn't get his commeupance, but did end up getting the guy who was sleazier than he, with the help of our heroine, of course.

This was a fast read (and the big font helped) and an intriguing story. Bellamy and Dent are at odds through a great deal of the book but it didn't bother me too much. Their love story was sweet in that she got to end up with her childhood crush. There wer...more
LOW PRESSURE is one of those books that is partly AWESOME and partly really, really to-the-point-of-inducing-seriously-harmful-eyerolling dumb. I'm surprised this book is labelled specifically as ROMANTIC suspense because personally, I thought that the romance was lukewarm at best and laughable at worst. It was all just so painfully and neatly patterened that despite all the build up or lack thereof, I knew exactly when something was going to happen between Bellamy and Dent and exactly when they...more

Every time I read a new Sandra Brown novel, I'm reminded of how much I enjoy her work. "Low Pressure" is one of my favorites; I couldn't put it down. When Bellamy Lyston finished writing her fact-based book, "Low Pressure," she never expected it would open up so many wounds and hurt so many people. Now a successful writer, Bellamy felt the need to recreate the life-changing events that befell her and her family when she was only 12 years old:
At an annual picnic her father held for his many empl...more

Finished Sandra Brown's book "Low Pressure". Thanks to whoever recommend this book to me. Loved this book!!!

This was a new author for me so I was unsure if I would like her writing. At 1st I thought just give it up and read another book but I'm sure glad I stuck with it.

Loved the way this book was written because it kept me guessing "who done it". Just when I thought I had it solved another wrench was thrown into the mix. I NEVER saw the ending coming, or the killer, and the reason for the killi...more

I love Sandra Brown. She knows how to write a great mystery. This book did not disappoint. She knows how to keep you guessing and interested until to last page. Thanks to my daughter for getting this for me. It was a pure pleasure!
This was a typical Sandra Brown novel. And I do not mean that in a bad way, in fact I mean that in typical Ms. Brown fashion she wrote a really great book. The characters were well written and you could actually relate to them. The story was a great mystery that literally kept me guess to the very end and everytime I thought I knew the murderer something popped up that had me second guessing myself. It took me awhile to really get into the story, but by about the fifth chapter I was sucked in an...more
Low Pressure is a highly entertaining, suspenseful novel that will having you guessing until the very end!

Sandra Brown has created a fantastic set of likable characters in this newest novel. Unpretentious rich girl Bellamy has repressed childhood memories of the day her sister was murdered. She's written a novel, Low Pressure, in an effort to bring those memories to the forefront and bring the suspicion she has that the wrong man was accused and found guilty of the murder. She teams up with her...more

Impeccable! As usual, I was not disappointed by the new romantic thriller wonderfully written by Sandra Brown. The reading is rhythmic, absorbing and fascinating with tons of surprises... Impossible to put down this book before it was finished!

I admit I'm rarely disappointed by a plot proposed by this author. Action, suspense and new developments. There is also depth in the characters that are never smooth, never made of one single color. Nothing is ever simple with Sandra Brown like in real lif...more

Bellamy Lyston Price was just 12 when her father Howard Lyston and stepmother Olivia had a company picnic at a state park for all of the company employees. Bellamy's beloved gay stepbrother Steven, only a couple of years older than her, was also in attendance as well as her cruel, whoring bitch of an 18 year old sister Susan. During the picnic, Susan was strangled to death but a tornado came through right after so all the evidence was blown away.

Susan was the pretty one, always in heat, and p...more

A book, named ‘Low Pressure’ is written under a pseudonym. There is a claim that is it based on fact; concerning the murder of a teenager that occurred 18 years prior. The characters are all based on real persons somehow connected with the death and investigation. The ending is rather ambiguous, leading the readers to believe that the man sent to prison for the murder of the teenager may have been the wrong person. When the truth of authorship is revealed by a low-life tabloid reporter, the boo...more

I'm reading the PDF from NetGalley on my Kindle. My wife, Suzie, is way jealous. I've registered for one of the free signed hardcovers because Suzie is a huge fan and would cherish a signed Sandra Brown first edition.

Today is 20-Sep. I did a progress update, and I can't see that it appears anywhere, so I'm putting it here, too. I'm 18% done and have this to say. I got sidetracked right after I started this. I started marked my...more

Low Pressure
By Sandra Brown

Bellamy Lyston Price never wanted to be associated with the bestseller that she wrote. She had written it for purely therapeutically reasons, but when it is found out that she is the author and the book is based on the murder of her sister when she was twelve years old she is thrown into the limelight. Now as she is going home a sleazy reporter implies that maybe the police convicted the wrong man and she along with her sister’s boyfriend of the time she was murdered c...more

This was one of those books that I opened and was IMMEDIATLEY hooked on, I read it from beginning to end, I hardly wanted to put it down. I would reccommend this book to my friends/family.

The suspense plot is pretty tight but drawn out. There are a lot of details to go through. You are left wondering until the very end if the right man was arrested and convicted. There are so many people presented that could have committed the murder that I jumped from character to character thinking they had t...more
The Lystons are a wealthy and prestigious family. Their oldest daughter, Susan, is a beautiful and alluring young woman with a dark and mean heart. When Susan is found murdered, the repercussions to her family and those surrounding her rip everyone’s world apart. Years later, Bellamy, trying to find the truth surrounding her older sister’s death writes a book detailing the events of the day and leaving the identity of the killer up to the reader, despite the fact that Allen Strickland was arrest...more
Low Pressure: Sandra Brown

Memories of the past can flood into the present when one incident or a person triggers your thoughts and you mind reverts back to that one moment you will never forget. Eighteen years ago on Memorial Day a young woman was murdered, a storm raged and destroyed the crime scene and the one person who witnessed it all cannot remember what happened. Susan Lyston’s murderer is still out there and memories of that day haunt her sister Bellamy. But, the past is about to come fu...more

Suspenseful romantic thriller. Not unlike Sandra Browns other books. It's the story of Bellamy Price, an author that writes a novel of a young girls murder. The young girl turns out to be her sister. Bellamy has memory loss in areas of the murder that happened on Memorial Day. She wrote the book to try and find the missing memory and to make sure the person convicted was the real murder. Then the story becomes typical, predictable Sandra Brown. Bellamy meets up with an old crush that was involve...more
As always Sandra Brown delivers! This was another incredible book that I couldn't put down. The book focused more on unraveling the murder mystery this time and the sexual encounters were not as racy as some of her other books. There was still the romance piece but it was toned down quite a bit in comparison to her previous titles. As always I spent most of the book trying to figure out who the murderer was and why. She has a way of giving out information throughout the book to keep readers hook...more
Eighteen years ago, Bellamy Price's 16 year old sister, Susan, was murdered at their family's Memorial Day barbecue. Minutes later a tornado tore through the grounds destroying all of the evidence needed to solve the crime. However, an arrest was made, the accused was found guilty and sent to prison.

Eighteen years later, with too many unanswered questions, Bellamy Lyston Price writes a novel based on Susan's murder. Written as fiction and using a pseudonym, a seedy reporter quickly discovers tha...more
One of my long time favorite writers, this book dragged on for far too long. At 467 pages, 300 pages would have done just fine. Something you would expect of a rookie author badly in need of an editor.
The plot is simple, girl's older sister is found murdered, murderer found and tried. Fast forward 20 years, girl, now woman, writes a "fictionalized" account of murder, investigation, and trial under pseudonym. Except she is exposed, the story is not so much fiction but the truth, and someone is no...more

“Have you ever heard of the Swiss cheese model?

In order for a catastrophic event, such as a plane crash, to occur, a sequence of events precedes it. Think of these separate factors as slices of Swiss cheese lined up one behind the other. If any one of the holes in them doesn't align with the others, the series of events is changed or curtailed, and a catastrophe is prevented."

"But if all the holes line up ---"
